Hi guys, i have been trying to update my Nexus 7 3G for awhile now, i had stock 4.2 and i unlocked bootloader and rooted teh device using CF-Auto-Root and it worked, i than received OTA update to 4.2.2 and i applied(i have custom recovery TWRP) and it applies update and it restarts and when i click on about tablet its still on 4.2 and after some time i get a notification saying system upate, repeat the same thing and again im stuck on 4.2.
So i decided to do a manual update and i took theupdate from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745781 and used JDQ39 from JVP15S since i am on JVP15S and i get an error 7 and so i tried JOP40C from JVP15S and same error 7.
"assert failed: apply_patch_check ("/system/app/applicationsprovider.apk", "435f87
E: Error in /sdcard/513ad3dbbd6b/signed-nakasig-JOP40C-from-JVP15S.513ad3db.zip (status 7)
error flshing zip "......."
updating partition details..'
Than says failed in red.
Can someone help me out here?
Thanks

Hello, at first my HTC MyTouch died after OTA update to 2.2.1 version. So I reinstalled android OS, updated it to 1.6 version DMD64, downloaded all 3 updates to Froyo, installed the fist one (~300kb), and then trying to install second (~53mb) it comes out this this error:
-- Install from sdcard...
Finding Update package...
Opening Update package...
Verifying Update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img", "boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installion aborted.
Maybe anyone knows how to fix this? Please help
P.S. I downloaded the update several times, and from several places, but allways it ends with same problem.
I also tried to install CM 4,5 even 6 but everytime I get the same error with BOOT, like this - assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img", "boot")
It would be good if I could at least turn off the update to 2.2.1 version and stay at 1.6 version, but the update reminder is so annoying

what do you mean the phone "died" is this your second phone?
You can try rooting the phone and putting a custom recovery and just install CM 6.
"died" I mean it stuck on green booting screen.
Yes I can install random recovery, but the phone don't install CM6 it installs about half and then it comes with error about boot.img and aborts installion. I get the same error installing CM4, CM5 and even official Froyo update.
Also I wanted to ask, what is the Perfected SPL?
Cant Boot
Same Problem wid my Htc magic 32B can anybody solve it??

Not clear what this means.
I got a simular error when I tried to update normally with Stock recovery. When I tried it this way earlier it did not work and I got to the Android on his back with the Red Triangle. I then got in to Stock recovery but the error above was simular.
Any help appreciated.

Believe it means that files checksum doesn't match what they think it should, meaning it was modified. So if it doesn't match, no flashy. Had the same issue with my build.prop, fixed it. Then it failed on the file for the 720p camera mod. Tried fixing it.... but that's a no go. Basically if you can find a stock rooted ROM, then copy over the file that fails....u should be good.
I downloaded and tried an unmodified file and got the same error upgrading from 4.2 to 4.2.1
Hi, i am from the philippines. just a while ago, i received a firmware update notification via my galaxy tab 2 10.1 (running a rooted stock rom [ICS 4.0.3 EXWALE2]. I succesfully downloaded the whole package, about 259mb, and did the installation afterwards. however, got the following errors in recovery mode:
CWM-based Recovery 5.5.0.4
E: Invalid command argument
Finding update package…
Opening update package…
Verifying update package…
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: Signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
has anybody here had experienced the same problem? the fix, if there is?
Another thing: I could not find the downloaded update package in my phone or just do not know where find it.

I suppose CWM blocks any OTA updates, I've tried download the update twice only to get those message on CWM.
Try download the update via Kies, I just successfully did it.
However the update size it's a lot bigger than 250MB and you're gonna lose your root privileges.

I am having an issue when updating my Nexus 7 to 4.3 from 4.2.2 using adb. I have successfully updated from 4.2.1 (and 4.1 to 4.2.1 on my Galaxy Nexus), so I have some experience in this. When updating to 4.3 everything runs smoothly with the file transferring and verifying the package.
However, I get the following message when it says "Installing update..." appears:
warning: No file_contextsVerifying current system...
