Note:

(THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD!)
3. Then choose reboot and you should be good to go!
:good: THERE YOU GO, YOU HAVE THE LATEST FIRMWARE INSTALLED IN YOUR SAMSUNG GALAXY GRAND !!! :good:
HIT LIKE IF THIS HELPED YOU
PS - Contact me for any help regarding this.
I think you should be less missleading if this is a "HOW TO" guide.
1. There is no order on the procedures.
2. You show nothing about flashing and applying CWM, as you mention it in the beginning.
3. It's GT "i"9082, not 19082.
4. I don't think you need to wipe data so often. Flashing a stock firmware through odin kind of overwrite the device. IMO one wipe after the flash is enough.
Hi, a noob here..
I'm still on a stock rom...original firmware...and I've downloaded the latest firmware (I9082XXXAMD6_I9082OLBAMD3_XTC) on the livesamsungupdate site...
Is there any clear steps on how can i update my phone without using KIES or the ODIN thing....whichever is the best...
And is there any infos or pros and cons after the updates of official firmwares?
Thanks in advance....
If the file has a .md5 or .tar it is best to flash with odin
If it is a zip file it is best to flash with CWM or other custom recovery

* Now click on PDA and locate your .tar.md5 file
* Make sure only Auto reboot and F. reset time is checked
* Click on start (it will take around 10 - 15 mins)
* Once complete unplug the cable and your device will reboot

Yes it is possible to make one (if you cant then back up after rooting)
No everything will be deleted since you wiped your data before flashing but you can try titanium backup to backup all your apps and contacts before flashing and restore them after flashing.

Carbon or Helium I think is for non-rooted phones for backup... maybe it will do...
One more thing.... before I upgrade the firmware do I need to remove the SD card and the SIM cards?

No there is no need to do that, you will actually need sd card to save the backup.

Hey guys do some one know how to delete a post ?
Any idea what is the difference or any improvement of flashing it to the latest version of the official firmware?
I read this article on how to update to latest firmware: Updating to latest firmware
"Verify that both the device's carrier and bootloader are unlocked before proceeding. Attempting to install the firmware on a locked device may completely damage or brick the device."
What does this means? is it if the device is SIM locked?
My phone is is SIM locked on the SIM1 only but not the bootloader... is there any way to check if this is locked?
Thanks in advance...

No this firrmware will not harm your GT-I9082 because we have bootloader unlocked ans sim unlocked,
How ever take a nandroid backup before flashing so we can revert back the changes if anything goes wrong.
Just for additional ROM links I've found. All countries ROM include latest and previous version for your Grand Duos.

Hi guys! This is a noob-proof guide on how to flash stock samsung firmware on your i9300. Whether you have bricked it or just want the stock firmware back. Here's how to do it (detailed explaination)
WARNING! : This is only for the GT i9300 (international version) , Check your device before proceeding. Also you might lose all your data. So backup! i am not responsible if you brick your phone(although very unlikely) by not following the guide properly
Also you will lose your custom recovery, Custom ROM and will not longer have root
Ok lets begin!
1. Make sure you have the samsung drivers installed on your pc (http://bit.ly/SDaIIE)
2. Your device should have at least 80% battery left
3. Enable USB Debugging by going to Settings>Developer Options>Tick the Usb debugging tick box!
Files needed :
1. Android 4.1.2 I9300XXEMC3 for Galaxy S3 I9300 - http://www.hotfile.com/dl/202240205/4dcf384/I9300XXEMC3_I9300NEEEMC1_NEE.zip.html
2. Odin 3.07 - http://bit.ly/16aRzF4
Extract The firmware Zip file until you get a file with a .tar extension and some other files. Do not extract furthur
Extract odin zip file till you get Odin3 v3.07.exe
Now here comes the actual flashing part
1. Power off your smartphone. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
2. Now, get into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power button simultaneously until Samsung Galaxy logo appears in phone screen. Wait few seconds and your phone will be in download mode.
3.Open odin as administrator and connect your s3 to your computer with usb cable
4. You will get a message "Added" in the message box in odin and You should also see COM port with a number in Yellow if you successfully added your device.
if you don't get this , try another usb port.. if it still doesn't come , reinstall drivers.
5. Select these files from I9300XXEMC3 folder in Odin at respective buttons:
Click the PDA Button, and select the .tar.md5 file here with *code* appearing in its name
Click the Phone Button, and select file with *modem* in its name (leave if there is no such file)
Click the CSC Button, and select file with *csc* in its name (leave if there is no such file)
Click the PIT Button, and select the .pit file. Use only if you got it while extracting , otherwise ignore it.
6. make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected. Also, make sure that Re-Partition checkbox is selected, only if you are using a .pit file
7. Double check everything above and hit start!
8. once flashing is complete the phone will reboot automatically and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can then unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
After completing these steps, Make sure to wipe the cache and do a factory reset in clockworkmod recovery if you do happen to find yourself in a bootloop (phone rebooting continuously) Or just do it anyways to prevent a bootloop from occurring.
congrats! , you have just restored your i9300!
If this has helped you make sure to hit the thanks button!

This normally happens when the partitions on the embedded multi media card gets corrupted for whatever reason, also known as the emmc.
The phone can be revived by flashing a pit file to repartition the emmc in order so it can be written to.
Download and unzip this file and you will have a .pit file which you put in the tab marked PIT in Odin
GT-I9300_mx_20120220.pit = Galaxy S3 of 16 Gb
GT-I9300_mx_20120322.pit = Galaxy S3 of 32 Gb
GT-I9300_mx_20120329.pit = Galaxy S3 of 64 Gb
(Just google the one that you need and download it)
Next make sure > r partition, f /reset, and auto reboot are ticked in options in Odin.
Next put the stock rom in the tab marked PDA, if flashing a custom rom then flash a rooted kernel first in PDA together with the pit file, hit start and start the flashing process, afterwards this will also give you the option of flashing the rom from recovery, next, flash the custom rom from Odin or from recovery
When finished the phone should reboot and start up.

If it is an official ROM package, it shouldn't trigger yellow triangle.
Even in that case, you can use Triangle Away app from Chainfire and see how it comes to zero

Hi everyone. I have followed the YouTube video by Chris Nacca (http://youtu.be/Ov6BXOu7SwA)that uses TWRP 2.5 custom recovery (file: openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.2-jfltexx.tar) on my unlocked GT-i9505 S4 using Odin 3.07. Unfortunately, despite the message from Odin indicates all worked fine (<ID:0/004> RES OK !!), on rebooting my phone back into Recovery mode, I am greeted with the Android character telling me there is an Error and then "dying" and saying "No Command".
The phone isn't bricked as I can move the highlight bar through the various menu options at the top left-hand side of the screen and reboot back via my stock ROM but clearly the Custom Recovery hasn't been installed correctly and, despite the Message screen in Odin showing <OSM> All threads completed. (success 1 / failed 0).
I have a rooted and unlocked GT-I9505 with a baseband reading as: I9505ZHUZME1. Anyone got any ideas or advice as to what may have gone wrong as if I can't sort this out I can't move to a custom ROM. :crying:

Thanks for your reply. Being new to Android, am I correct in assuming that I merely download the last .tar file from the page you provided the link to and install it as I did the TWRP custom recovery file using Odin? Am I right in believing this will leave me with my Stock ROM but I can then do a Nandroid Backup and move to a custom ROM from there when I am ready?

Sorry, back again. I have done as you suggested (twice) and still can't get my phone to install a custom recovery. While Odin once again reports a successful install (as it did when installed the TWRP custom recovery), when I reboot back into custom recovery mode after installing PhilZ Touch custom recovery (as indicated by the blue text on the start-up screen), I no longer get the dying Android figure as I did when installed TWRP custom recovery, but the screen goes to a black, vibrates and then the phone reboots normally (which is a relief). So, needless to say - I am stumped. Can you or anyone else offer any suggestions?

possibly the recovery is not getting installed on phone coz of some root access

Happy to try but could you point me to how I get back to stock firmware and then reset the device? I thought I was still using stock firmware (rooted I understand) so I think you must mean that I need to unroot my phone some how, reboot and then use the rooting process you just posted before install Philz recovery. Would you mind describing a little more - I know I have taken up a lot of your time but greatly apprecriate your help,

U can download the stock firmware from ur device I9505 will be abt 1.4 gb
once downloaded extract in a folder then flash using Odin pda - need to select .tar here again as u did b4 for recovery flashng etc
This will flash a Firmware and u will have stock phone unrooted
from there reset the device from ur phone which will remoce all the bad files etc and all the data also from ur Internal phone memory
after that as told Root and install recovery hope fully this will work without issues

Okay, got all that. I am surprised that you can flash stock firmware back on to your phone as I was under the impression you needed a custom recovery installed before you could add a custom ROM. Is that purely a "safety" precaution and I could bite the bullet and install a custom ROM now (should I be silly enough to try)? I do have may SYSTEM, APPS and USER data back up. Obviously I will loose everything on my phone doing this but can I expect that I can restore the APPs and USER data from my existing backup but not attempt to do this will the system files in fear of recreating the current problem?

Yes u can flash stock with Odin no need to install recovery for that..Custom recovery is needed mostly to flash custom Roms more or less u can say
and this method is 100% safe as long as u do properly
make sure u have 60% plus battery on the phone dont disconnect while its running / installing
and dont re install backup u have taken b4 with system files etc myte create plm
rather use titanium / mybackup pro app just to backup messages/ apps etc and save it else where or SD card for later use

Hi, I have done as suggested and flashed the stock ROM and performed a hard Reset. I didn't expect the flashing of the ROM would leave all my apps and screens as they were. Is that normal? I did confirm that the baseband number had changed, which is has. I then moved on to install the root as suggested and all seems to have worked well with the red Android figure appearing. Unfortunately SuperSU is complaining of not having the necessary binary files and Root Checker doesn't seem to be able to determine whether I have rooted phone or not as it just sits there complaining that my system seem slow. Any advice? Thanks.

Hi, yes I tried SU from play store - same issue. I also reset from the Backup and Reset option on the phone which did delete all the apps etc so to the best of my knowledge, I followed all the steps as described by you and on the various pages you gave me links to.
I have just tried SuperUser. It noted the binaries were old but when it attempted to update, said it "failed" to gain root access. Despite getting the confirmatory Red Android after the root process, I now wonder if it didn't go entirely as planned despite trying 2-3 times....?

Hello everybody
My friend has a Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and since yesterday it won't start. It shows "Samsung Galaxy Y young" and doesn't start. So I decided to try to root it and install Jellyblast v3 but it's the same problem. I followed a tutorial and tried to wipe cache and data but still the same problem. So now I read that the people who had the same problem as me, resolved their problem by flashing the stock rom with odin. But I saw that we needed some information like PDA, PHONE and CSC but I can't have these informations as the phone won't start So I am going to follow a tutorial to flash it with odin. But I'm worried about bricking definitely her phone :s So I want to know if there is no risk to brick her phone if I try to flash a stock rom without knowing these information (PDA PHONE CSC).
Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english °° !!

you installed cwm how?
there is only to types of cwm for galaxy y
1 - tempory cwm zip - flashed in stock recovery to give you cwm - this zip must be flashed each time you enter recovery to bring up cwm
2 - perminant cwm - this is included in a custom kernel and replaces stock kernel and stock recovery with a custom kernel and recovery
if you flashed a kernel state which one it was
to use odin
download odin 3.07
download and install samsung usb drivers
put phone in download mode by pressing vol down home button power button until download screen appears
connect phone to pc via usb cable
press vol up to begin connection
wait for drivers to install
open odin

wouldnt work though if you changed your file system to ext to use cm7/9/cyanmobile/pa
you can only restore a nandroid backup fully if you restore it on the kernel on which it was made and you are on the same file system as it was made although you can advanced restore if on different kernel and should work if it can verify md5 sum

Are you getting stuck to root your upgraded 4.3 Note II on N7100XXUEMK4 (or later) because of KNOX bootloader?? wanna root and have custom recovery and rom installed on your device?? It's easy guys, no more to dream! We'll pass through the KNOX bootloader and start rooting!!
/!\ BEFORE YOU START, I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THAT ROOTING THROWS AWAY YOUR WARRANTY AND KNOX WARRANTY FLAG ON YOUR ODIN WILL BECOME 1, ALSO YOU MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! (I recommend you to do this when your warranty is already void / one year of warranty has been completed) /!\
Step 1 Download the attachment by clicking this link (ROOT XXUEMK4.zip).
Step 2 Extract it, and you will get 2 zip files (ROOT.zip; RECOVERY TWRP.zip).
Step 3 Extract RECOVERY TWRP.zip, and you will get a file named Recovery.img .
Step 4 Open Odin (any version of Odin *recommended Odin3 v.3.09*) and put the Recovery.img to PDA(on Odin3 v.1.xx) or AP (on Odin3 v.3xx). Then, boot your device to download mode and connect it to your PC. After that, hit start button. Flashing will be finished less than 15 seconds.
Step 5 Custom TWRP Recovery is now installed on your phone. The rest of the things are quite simple.
Step 6 Now, move the ROOT.zip which you got after extracting ROOT XXUEMK4.zip.
Step 7 Boot your phone into the recovery mode, then press Install Zip, and flash ROOT.zip.
Step 8 Wait for flashing to be finished. After it has finished, your phone boots up, all set up
and you're good to go! *SuperSU has been installed on your phone.*
FAILURE TO FOLLOW MAY RESULT BRICKING YOUR PHONE! ALWAYS HAVE FIRMWARE BACKED UP ON YOUR COMPUTER!
I hope you enjoyed with your rooted device! *If it works, don't forget to hit the :good: button . Feel free to leave any comments or PM me if you have any question. *

yes you can do that, but let me warn you once you've installed the 4.3 rom youll get the knox bootloader and after that if you root your phone your warranty will get void and you cant revert it back.. there are many good 4.3 custom roms available.. you can go for that if you want.. i would suggest DN3 rom since it is 4.3 rom n has all the note3 functions.. but then again its ur choice

Thanks for your suggestion, I don't really care about warranty, just wanted to make sure i do not end up bricking my phone by downloading 4.3 India firmware on my UAE note 2 running stock 4.1.2.Yes i've been following the 4.3 custom roms closely and DN3 seems a good choice. Perhaps i'll give 4.3 a shot this weekend on my note 2 and root it few weeks later. Just wondering are there any serious bugs in 4.3 Indian firmware? From what i've read people are saying no wifi bug and such, just wanted to be sure before i go ahead and download it

i've been reading this thread over in the General discussions:

i currently have K14-Dr.Ketan custom ROM flashed to my phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519897
and my recovery is TWRP v2.7.1.0
the CSC code is: INU.
at first, i thought i couldn't update to the Lollipop update because its CSC code is XXV/THL
but then i saw a reply somewhere in the midst saying to flash a 4.4.2 version to change my code to the proper one.
i'm not entirely sure what to do. any help would be much appreciated!

It take time to change csc code.
Read this topic and change to XXV.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342328
so i don't understand a few things in regard to the steps...
1b. You are on stock ROM but is on other's region firmware and is rooted (based on Samsung official firmware). Same, just download your stock latest update firmware from sammobile.com first. Which contains your region's CSC.
Click to collapse
so since my stock custom ROM is INU-based, i go and download the INU firmware?
2. Ok, now both are on a stock ROM but rooted, check your CSC using the CSC Changer app.
3. If not working, then install ES File Explorer from Playstore or link below (recommended) or other file browser with Root access ability. Open the side menu and select Root Explorer.
Click to collapse
i only found one app in the Play Store with this name, and it's 0.99 cents, before i buy it, is that the correct one? or if i don't want to buy it, i just continue with step 3?
7. Alright all done, reboot your phone first. Then reset the BIN counter using Triangle Away. (Again, friendly reminder: Do not enter CWM Recovery again as it will increase the BIN counter) Reboot and put your phone in Download mode. Flash the stock ROM you've downloaded though ODIN.
Click to collapse
so if i go with the ES File Explorer route, i can then go straight into flashing the Lollipop firmware?
also, do i need the app Triangle Away? if i don't care about the BIN counter?
my goal is to be unrooted, on Lollipop, with/without Knox counter tripped.
It doesnt matter INU or whatever region. As long as your device is N900 , Just download NJ3 firmware with XXV region which download link given in that post or download from sammobile.
Secondly, better to do factory reset after u flashed NJ3.
3. No need to buy csc changer. Just install free"phone info" from play store and check ur csc and if not xxv, change ur csc code to xxv with that "phone info" application.
4. You may need to flash NJ3 again or wipe data until u see ur csc is xxv.
5. Follow the instruction about lollipop post.
6. You can skip supersu 2.40 step if u dont want a root.

You may need to flash NJ3 again or wipe data until u see ur csc is xxv. Follow the instruction about lollipop post and yes u can start lollipop step.
i ended up following the "new" method posted to the original topic. and just in case anyone finds this thread, here are the exact steps i took:
1. Flash TWRP via ODIN
Click to collapse
i was using Odin 3.09. put your N900 into download mode by powering it off, then holding the Vol Down + Home Button + Power Button.
then within Odin, click on the "AP" button and browse for the "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-ha3g.img.tar" file, and click the Start button
1.1 Enter TWRP and create Backup. (To safe)
Click to collapse
boot to custom recovery by having your N900 powered off, then holding the Vol Up + Home Button + Power Button.
perform a nandroid backup, and reboot the phone back into Android
1.2. Copy unziped file at /twrp/4d00279c40989079/2014-12-18--00-18-21 LRX21V.N900XXUEBNL4 to phone /twrp/xxxxxx/2014-12-18--00-18-21 LRX21V.N900XXUEBNL4 where xxxxxx is unique generated for your device
Click to collapse
now that your phone is backed up, copy the extracted "TWRP-LRX21V.N900XXUEBNL4-samsungviet.vn.zip" to your nandroid backup location
2. Enter TWRP -> Wipe -Swipe to Factory Reset
Click to collapse
boot back into custom recovery (holding the Vol Up + Home Button + Power Button.)
3. Return TWRP Home -> Restore -> Select "2014-12-18--00-18-21 LRX21V.N900XXUEBNL4"
Click to collapse
select the extracted folder as your restore state
4. Select everything to restore
Click to collapse
for me, there was only 3 choices to select, and they were already pre-selected.
5. When finish Restore, return TWRP Home -> Reboot -> Download
Click to collapse
i had to power off the phone instead of using TWRP to reboot into Download Mode, then do the Vol Down + Home Button + Power Button.
6. Flash Bootloader 5.0 (without Auto Reboot) then pull out battery and re-enter download mode
Click to collapse
then in Odin, click the "BL" button and browse for the "bootloader-5.0.tar" and click Start
7. Flash stock recovery (with auto reboot)
Click to collapse
after pulling the battery and putting it back in. boot to Download Mode again (Vol Down + Home Button + Power Button)
in Odin, click on the "AP" button, and browse for the "recovery.tar" and click Start
8. First boot will take 5-10 mins.
Click to collapse
voila. done.
BLUETOOTH FIX
Flash cwm via odin (dont tick auto reboot)
Take off batre and cable. And take on again.
Press volume up + home + power button and get in recovery mode (cwm).
Flash bluetooth dix from this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...-roms-t2938607)
Get in the download mode and flash stock recovery.
reboot and you can use your bluetooth again
Click to collapse
although i don't understand this step.
it says to flash CWM even though the previous steps have you flash TWRP. (edit: and then the previous steps have you flash stock recovery)
then it says to flash the ZIP file within the custom recovery, boot to download mode, and flash stock recovery?
any help on this part?
Just consider yourself that you are now using android L which is with stoch recovery after u have done all procedure. And yes u facing bluetooth error.
So u have to flash custom recovery( CWM) to flash bluetooth fix zip. May be u can use twrp again to flash bluetoothfix zip.

oh yeah, duh. step 7- flash stock recovery.
so i tried to flash TWRP again and i received an error in Odin. i'm thinking it's because i have to root again.
without root, i can't fix the bluetooth then?
I dont think u need root for that.
May be u change ur recovery to CWM than twrp and flash bluetooth fix
