You can't create them. They automatically appear when a app needs to store files on the phone.

I unzip a obb file to add something to it and now I'm trying to zip it back up correctly to work.

Obb is only readable by the core android system I think

Me and a coworker tried sending photos back n forth and I was able to send him a photo but when he tried to send me one my phone just went to the market place and said it couldn't find anything. Both our devices have NFC and s beam on. It makes a noise and vibrates when we pit them back to back bit I just can't receive anything. Anyone know? Thanks

Wrong section... Nexus 4 doesn't have s beam afaik.

Why does it have the option to turn it on and off?

Sorry bro, S-Beam is a Samsung only application.
It's called Android Beam on this device.
I believe it's due to the different gallery apps used.

I went through this same thing with my friend's Note 2. I had to put my N4 a bit higher on the back of the Note, so that the lower half of my N4 was touching the upper half of his phone. Worked beautifully once we did that. When we first tried we couldn't get it to send anything, it would just vibrate and nothing would happen.
Give that a try, hope it helps.

S-Beam is only a touchwiz feature like Wi-Fi direct. Its different from NFC. It won't work on stock android, only NFC

Why is the option there though?

It's a different feature, S-Beam is Samsung only and Android Beam is stock android only. So you can not connect the devices to each other - that's like trying to plug MicroUSB to a USB port. Might do the same, but don't mix.
Than you!!!

I turned of s-beam on my S3 and was able to send files to my N4.........I did not try the other way.
I have both received from and sent a file to different GS3's. One had S-beam on, the other did not. I assumed it auto-detected.
My n4 works both way with my coworkers note2.

The S3 has S-Beam AND Android beam. S-Beam being on or off has nothing to Dow tub Android Beam.

Wifi-direct is not Samsung only. It is available on Nexus 4 and there are a lot apps using it to transfer files between different branded phones.
It is even available on laptops.

I was browsing through my files using astro and I noticed I had three folders all of which have the same files/folders in them while also being the same size (6.9gb). I was curious if anyone knows which one is safe to delete? They are wasting space on my nexus 7 that I would like to free up. Or are they mandatory for the device to function?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
You're seeing the same stuff, it's not taking up 3 times the space. For Christ sake don't delete from any of the locations as you'll be deleting your stuff.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
OK thank you. Do you happen to know why it does that?

Hey that's confusing, because when I view the files in Astro it says that I have 10.79GB in /storage and 3.60 in /storage/sdcard0, /storage/emulated/legacy and /storage/eumated/0 respectively. It looks like it's being duplicated.
I'm on at&t network every time I open tapatalk I get this...PS I'm using AOKP m1

Does it work on wifi?
Do you have this problem with Tapatalk 4 Beta?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yes.it does work on WiFi forgot to mention that. Its only tapatalk I'm using XDA premium I didn't edit anyththing in APN setting just stuck sim card in.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I don't use Tapatalk, but I feel like I should ask this question, since the solution might be in your screenshot:
Do you have AdBlock (or anything equivalent) installed?
Didn't the card come with instruction for ports to open and witch APN to use? If its your old card there is most likely some instructions on att's website for the settings you need to apply.

I don't have ad block. And I have APN settings already on. Its only tapatalk everything else works fine..

Hello, recently I updated my Nexus 4 to Android 4.3 (over the air)
But now the messaging app drains a huge amount of battery. How can I solve this? I already force closed it lots of times but it keeps coming back...
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Can you select Messaging from the list so I can have a look of what is going on?

Hmm is there a way to keep app data without root? I'm planning to root again as soon as CM gets updated to 4.3, so I'd prefer that otherwise.
(Cant backup anything on a pc now since my own pc is broken)

I've never used it, but this app from the Play store (made by clockworkmod) says it can backup without root (although you will need a PC).
So I'm on 4.3 and rooted however I'm having a bear of a time trying to delete a file from my device. I'm using solid explorer and I've even tried root explorer with no luck, any suggestions? I have no way of getting to a computer any time soon so whatever solution I use it would have to be on device. Any ideas?

Pulse isn't working right. It's not displaying images in the news feeds so I uninstalled and I wasn't too remove the data then reinstall.

I'm guessing no one else is having problems managing files and folders since 4.3?

Solid doesn't work for me either, I have to use ES
