SEAndroid? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

What is the purpose of seandroid? I uninstalled it and im not having any issues.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium

It's part of Knox. Stands for Secure Android. KNOXAgent.apk is the file.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium

I deleted the knonx agent is that ok im having no issues or nag going on 5 hours now

Yeah it doesn't hurt anything if you aren't using Knox. Although with the new SuperSU 1.30 it isn't needed unless you have a custom kernel.

froze seAndroid and all is good!

I have superuser 1.30 and just rooted MDL using the latest method through chainfire.(shabby recovery) I am getting the Detection Information. Is this why I should freeze seandroid? if so, where do I look for it. Thanks everyone!

If you don't have a custom kernel you shouldn't get the warning using the new SuperSU. If you do have a custom kernel you would freeze seandroid using titanium backup or something similar. Or you can just delete the file mentioned above from /system/app.

No custom kernel, I have 1.30 superuser and I did get the detection warning. I did freeze seAndroid and it went away. Not sure if I want to use a custom kernel yet. Afraid I will run into GPS problems like I did on the epic touch. Thanks for your reply. You do a lot for this community! :good:

Thanks. No problem freezing it so you are good. You might try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41714439 though if you want to beat the warning.

[Q] Stock Kernel

Hey can anybody give me a link to the stock kernel for the samsung continuum?
anybody have the file or link to a stock Continuum kernel? please
I have the stock kernel, but its on my computer, and I am in Vegas xP
That being said, why would you need it? The plain recovery kernel from imnuts (which you can easily find) is stock, but allows the custom recovery.....

Nice! Vegas! Killing your money?
Are you talking about the peanut butter jelly kernel?
and quick question, the cwm backup, when i do it does it also back up the kernel? because i tried restoring the nandroid backup it restored everything except the stock kernel.
Lmao, I wish xP one year away from being able to gamble, almost there haha basically, we are just seeing all the sights, like the hoover dam, grand canyon (and the sky walk over it ), secoia forrest, the works xD
Nope, I mean the kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943415
Check the first post
And unfortunately no, cwm does not backup or restore your kernel :/ as far as I know, of course...

Market issues

I know the PBJ voodoo kernel I installed has caused my market not to work. I would like to know if there is a way I could get it back. I don't have a nandroid backup of another kernel. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

well first of all, why didnt you do a nandroid backup before you messed with it...
well anyways..you could disable voodoo and flash novoodoo pb&j via cwm
I flashed three different kernels and the only thing that worked was restoring my nandroid backup...
What I went through is in the kernel thread... xP

So.. is there nothing I can do?
And I did have a good backup before, but my sd got messed up somehow.
My market did work while I had voodoo at one point, but I don't know what happened to that :S
Yeah, I understand...
All you have to do is flash a non voodoo kernel, then install the dl17 clean rom.....
Making sure you do wipes...

After you convert back to non voodoo, of course! ! ! !

I converted back already. thank you very much kind sir. does it matter which rom I flash though? I've been using the dl17 edify one.

You do realize that, despite not wanting to open a new thread, you did just that?
You don't want to remove kernel. Franco kernel already has root. And, as you were looking for a good root, I think that root is pretty good.
May I ask you, respectfully, do you even understand what you're asking about?
Franco kernel its an old and outdated kernel.. Download Hydracore and flash it via recovery

Because they randomly google YouTube videos and sites that give poor and outdated advice.
Then after problems happen, they come to us.

Or they saw the kernel on a Galaxy Nexus where Franco's is teh Best evar. /me hides under the stairs
Franco kernels for note is a fail. I think the op needs to do a bit more reading so he doesnt sound like more of a moron lol.

I recommend the appropriate PhilZ kernel for your rom. It can easily be flashed in recovery and grants you root rights. What's more it is brick safe (at least as safe as it get's).
I agree, the op should read a few hours before he flashes anything onto his phone. Flashing without knowledge is very dangerous.

Download titanium backup and freeze the seandroid app. Problem solved. There is also a nag fix zip in the development forum. Hope this helps.
Love the 90s Good Times.
Freeze SEAndroid using an app like titanium backup and this message will go away.

If you have a custom kernel you freeze seandroid or delete /system/app/KNOXAgent.apk/.odex. If not, use CF Auto Root from original dev section and that should fix you.

Another good alternate is Root App Delete.
the new SuperSU by Chainfire fixes this issue... just download it from the market and replace superuser app.... and no need to freeze or delete any file
You don't have to use TiBu. Any app that freezes apps can be used to fix this. I haven't heard of any other fixes for it yet though. Just freeze SEAndroid.apk.

Uninstalling then going into whatever recovery you have , stock or custom, and clearing caches usually can did that. Then re installing.

So you know, xposed works on our phones but not all the mods and hacks will work, I've had success getting about 50% of the tweaks to work in the Wanum xposed module. It is not written for our version of the S4 but a lot of the tweaks will work.
After I did a fresh load of the FULL NAE I got the framework to install. It's great
Thanks
