overheating and purple smudge - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

okay so i got my s4 I9500 arnd 2 weeks back..
now i have been through the forum nd seen many posts fr overheating issues mainly.
sorry fr posting a new thread..
the main 2 issues i am facing is overheating(main) and purple smudge in contacts(which m nt really concerned of)
The phone is overheated when i play any type of game..be it nfs most wanted..subway surfers..temple run 2..or any normal game..nd while charging also the phone gets very hot..u can touch the screen while charging nd feel the heat..
now my question is that is this a S/W issue or H/W??? what shud i do for this overheating problem...its really very annoying that u pay Rs 40300 for a phone nd it has such type of problems..spending 40300 nd getting such crap?? not worth it..
I really hate samsung for this..first they said octa core which is actually 2 quad cores..then battery life is terrible even though its 2600mAh battery..then such overheating problems...what the hell are samsung charging for??? plastic body?? m really upset with samsung..didnt expect this type of quality nd service frm them.. they are just bloody " SHOW-OFFS"..
nw i dont know what shud i do with this phone.. (

As far as charging "heating" it's because it is charging extremely fast (2mAh charger) so the battery heats up and the screen as well (because of the device's thickness the battery is very close to the screen as well).
As far as gaming overheating, it's because this high end (yes, even subway surfers and temple run 2) games that uses all the A15 cores (even if the game needs only one A15 core). According to AndreiLux, the kernel is designed in a way where only all A7 cores work or all A15 cores work and no any other combination.
He also mentioned that he isn't sure whether it's an h/w or s/w limitation. I think it's a s/w limitation that will get fixed with an update because Samsung already showed (on a tablet) how the core migration works (A15 and A7 working together).
And since this configuration present, also the battery seems not as good as the one Samsung mentioned (the A15 cores consumes much more power than A7 cores).
Don't worry, Samsung knows what their doing

next time before u buy a phone check the specs seriously octa core ?? it's a phone not allien ware
and also check the forum for people's issues
and don't blame samsung for this they just rushed the 4.2.2 that's why and if u don't like it there is always that overpriced iphone for u to buy out there

@Blackwolf10
1)yes its a phone so what,,if samsung is claiming octa core then we shud get octa core..y pay more when only one processor runs at a time..
3)who else shud i blame den, if nt samsung..they r d ones who made this phone..so they r to blame..
i wasnt being rude in anyway..its just that m upset that i paid this much amount nd got a phone which has so many problems..just like other people..

1) Octa means the number of cores there are in the phone, and they are specifically write in their spec sheet that it's 4 A15 and 4 A7 in big.LITTLE architecture. If you didn't do the research, or didn't pay attention to this it's not Samsung's fault.
BTW, still (with "only" 4 cores) this phone outperforms any other phone out there, both in synthetic benchmarks and in actual heavy tasks (such browsing and 3D gaming).
Also, how did you expect from 8 cores to consume less energy if all of them works together?
2) where is it?
3) Blame for what? All your arguments against them are invalid, can be fixed (and will be if you remember the overheating and battery problems last year) or presents in other phones (Overheat in games happens in the S3, HTC one, HTC one X and every other high end smartphone).

Galaxy S 2 and FPSE (9th June)

hey all
i thought id share with you for those who would be interested in my first hands on experience with the samsung galaxy s2
well i went round my friends house after work, as he was waiting for one to be delivered as an upgrade, anyway he rang me to say that it was here,
so i thought id go up and have alook.
the first thing i did when he gave it me was.... drop it lol
he passed it me and it slipped right through my fingers it was so thin
it bounced on his hard laminated floor a few times but he just laughed.
it is a nice device, very slim altho abit wider than the play
the brightness on the screen was great
and it was very very snappy scrolling across homescreens and loading up apps,
exploring the memory with astro. i was impressed
and alot lighter than the play aswell
the quadrant scores were off the chart getting something like 3k+
linpack he was getting 48
i did notice that when running quadrant some of the textures were just plain solid shapes no actual textures. i thought maybe thats got something to do with that mali chipset that i heard didnt support certain texture compression but anyway.
i told him to fire up fpse to see what that ran like with the new fpse.
mines runs great hovering around at around 45-50fps
on most games. until i put on screen filtering
and that has a massive impact on fps it drops to around
27-30fps and games become unplayable even with frame skip on max
enhanced 3d rendering has little effect on fps so i keep that on
anyway i thought that the galaxy s 2 with the 1.2 dualcore and the mali 400mp
would power along when putting screen filtering on.
so i tried tekken 3 loaded it up. ran it but without screen filtering on
and it was buttery smooth stuck at 60fps.
then i turned on screen filtering and it dropped to 30/35fps
and was the same unplayable state mine was.
i was gob smacked surely a dualcore would best this???
my mate said, so looks like your not missing much gaming wise then compared to mine. i just smiled ,he hasnt got his for gaming mind.
i dont know if there was summat goin on, or a imcompatability with fpse
but it was an interesting discovery. i tried afew other games and they all were the same.
so as far as emulation and fpse goes were not getting left behind because we have no dualcore cpu.
Someone please correct me here if im wrong but what your saying is that a dual core cpu is the same speed as a single core cpu on single core programming, well yes that is going to be the obvous result, yes different single core speeds will have various results.
But unless a program has been coded for use with more than one processor then it will not make use of a dual core processor.
for example
a single core processor can work out
x = 5
y = ?
x * y = 15
this equation would take as much time on a single core processor as it would a dual core processor as you are waiting for the result of 15/x to work out what y is.
so until FPSE is programmed to allocate for dual core processors you will end up with the same speed of use, or very similar.
I have both, well sort off, play dead gone for repairing with sony, so bought S2 in the mean time, to tell you, S2 with 1gb RAM and Dual core Processor which can be overclocked to stable 1.66 ghz is way fast as compared to play, trust me, graphic wise both have 16m colors, but s2 with super amoled does it somehow better...i miss playing games the play way...thats all...I guess S2 is the world's fastest stable phone for now.....atleast I have both so know it...

The tegra2 bests that GPU in every possible way.
Also doesn't the SGS II have an FPS limit.
Also Exynos as a whole is not all that more powerful than tegra2 I mean the reason the SGS II does so well on benchmarks is because of android 2.3 look at the Atrix 2.3 leak its benchmarks are off the charts as well.
And my last point. There is no need for all this power if it is not going to be used. I mean games need that type of power and games are best played with a gamepad. Why sony ericsson didn't put a tegra in the play is beyond me.
I tried tekken on it, could see puches coming at me my thumbb was always in the way. I told the owner to uninstall as gaming on something like that was a joke. He didnt agree until he tried my play.

Touchscreens suck for gaming.
No amount of processing power in the World will overcome this fact.

[Rumor]Samsung Galaxy S III is powered by Exynos 4412 Quad-core at 1.5Ghz

I just got a Galaxy S II and now Samsung is gearing up for the Galaxy III powered by Exynos 4412 @ 1.5Ghz.

Come at me bro
That would be very nice. A little sad I couldn't upgrade to the GS II but I think I can shell out for a new phone next year and a quad core Galaxy S would fit the bill.
I kinda want a galaxy Nexus, I missed out on the N1 so I do want a pure google device but samsung just gets it so right. Can't wait to see what they do with ICS.

wtf do we need a quad core phone for when very little use dual core. Now quad core on a tablet i can somewhat understand
Gonna stick with the SGS2, unless of course the SGS3 has improved everything in which case I'll get it on launch day..
Seems pointless to me.... quad core will b battery hungry and bare use both cores on gs2 lol. Meeeeh

I this going to be the future of Android, constant hardware updates that totally outdo the previous model in a matter of months, its already a fragmented nightmare, coders cant cope with dual core, let along quad, to be honest I am getting fed up with the constant changing and new models all the time, getting ridiculous
na its for tablets. a dual A15 with A7 more likely.

Then don't upgrade! you forget the other millions who didnt update this year and will be looking at 2012 for the latest and greatest. Where is the sense in wanting an Apple like crawl in progression. Android gives companies like Samsung the freedom to concentrate on the hardware. It can only be a good thing for the consumer. What I take from your post is "WWAaaAaa my fones not the bestest anymore!!11!!"

While I do agree that it is somewhat pointless at this point in time, it's a common misconception that newer CPUs = more power usage. By that logic, a Core i7 will consume more power than the Core 2 Quad, which it does not.
CPU manufacturers control power consumption in a number of ways. The most common is a die shrink, manufacturing the CPU at a smaller level. The Exynos is a 45nm chip, and the next generation is supposed to be 28nm. Thus, we can expect power consumption to stay the same, or even decrease.
The other way is through the use of core gating. The OS simply shuts off the cores that are not in use, and wakes them up when they are needed.
Hopefully this helps to clear up some of the misunderstandings regarding CPUs and power consumption.
quad core has already been stated to be more battery friendly and the tegra3 chips is very clever only using more cores when needed and even having a stealth 5th core for mega low idle speeds
obvously the exynos is not a tegra3 but i am sure samsung will do some clever stuff too
quad core will be awesome , i am happy with my dual core sgs2 so wont upgrade for a while ive also bought extras etc so its not worth upgrading for me , however that doesnt stop quad core from being gooooooooooood
have you seen the gfx power it will bring , the extra camera capabillities it allows the manufactuers to use , the speed that the browser will work , how smooth the ui transisitions and scrolling will be even when multi tasking , it also brings support for up to 2gb of ram which alone is great stuff everyone knows the only thing better then ram is more ram
i think if we want our mobile to be proper mobile computers connected to bluetooth keyboards and usb hardrives then linked up to hdmi or dlna while doing back ground tasks , followed by some high end intensive 3d gaming with a bluetooth pad over hdmi while still doing background tasks , encoding high quality media on the fly and editing it without having to wait an age for it to finalise then qua core is a great thing as is the way that tech is moving so fast
the only problem i can see is fragmentation as things move so quick
its got to make it hard for devs etc which in the long turn could damage the platform a bit , however i am sure it will come to the point it will smooth out and tech wont accelerate so fast , maybe? lol
nvidia have a road map and it shows that they will be releasing a new cpu/gpu combo each year for at least the next 3-4 years before they think we will be at mobile maximum potenial , so get ready for this tradition to carry on for a while yet
Sadly I think this fragmentation might become a very big problem in the future, and is one area where Apple is unfortunately right.
Look at PC Gaming. A lot of people buy PCs not knowing exactly what the PC they bought at capable of. When it fails to run Battlefield 3 at an acceptable framerate they are not going to be happy.
For us techies, it's easy to know that you need at least a GTX 560Ti or something, but for Joe Sixpack out there they obviously don't know these things.
I think perhaps Google should enforce some sort of system requirement rating system. Give it a number scale to make it simple. So maybe the SGS2 scores 9/10, and Contract Killer requires a phone with at least 7 to run smoothly. So Joe Sixpack who bought a Galaxy 3 GT-i5800 that scores a 3 doesn't get all pissed off.
Hope I'm making sense here.
Nah fragmentation will be fine. Pc is still the choice for gamers over Apple mac, not including consoles. Transfer that to mobile phones, and as long as the android mobiles become popular enough, games will be great for them. Everyone will just know they have to have a good mobile just like their pc.
I read somewhere it would feature the AMD's new 8 core bulldozer CPU with nVidias GTX 590 in SLI.

i dont really understand people complaining about fragmentation. Android isnt a phone, it isnt a manufacturer, its an operating system. Do people complain the laptop market is fragmented because some computers are on xp, vista or 7? Some are on faster processors than others? Did people ever complain that symbian updated on some phones but not others?
I just dont get it, Id rather new phones/tech come out than only one release every 18 months.
Who cares? My upgrade isn't due until 2013... When I will get the top of the line handset again. I'm sure that model will be usurped within 4-6 months too.
Maybe we should all keep our phones in their original packaging like toy collectors, so they can't contribute to the disastrous fragmentation issue.
The actual effect of this media-inspired phenomena on consumers is negligible.
LOL sorry - had to point out the galaxy s III still has an 8mp camera. =p
Almost sounded like the Samsung Nexus with the 5mp camera... ahaha.
Just kidding. The phone should be solid. =)

Android phones vs iPhone is basically like PC vs console since PC has a billion different hardware and software configs where as a console as 1 (There are a few iPhones but you generally only support the latest 2-3 versions).

[Q] Would u like Quad or Dual in your next note?

Since the launch of SGS3 is around the corner and the next note will probably come within next few months, I thought of starting this thread to know how many users prefer having Quad Exynos 4 ( similar to SGS3 which is based on A9 arcitecture with Mali 400 GPU built using 32nm manufacturing process) or dual Exynos 5 (A15 architecture with Mali T604 GPU which is based on probably 28nm manufacturing process)in our next Note...
Cast your votes in the poll
You should put a POLL, it would get more people interested. But for me, I'd rather get the A15 with the Mali 604T since A15 is supposedly to be 40% faster than A9 and the Mali 604T will blow the Mali 400 away.
Definitely the dual A15 with Mali 604. No doubt.

Quad! I don't care if I don't use it, and I don't care if I don't need it.
It just feels good to have that much power in the palm of your hand.
I'll benefit from that much power since I play games and I look forward to more capable emulators in the future.
I don't give a CRAP about the amount of cores!
I want the most speed that's possible, if that would be with dthe dual i take that, if it's with de quad, then thats my way to go...
Can't vote in the poll because i want speed, and since it's not sure wich one is faster i can't vote!
PS
I think the Exynos 5 will be released @ the end of this year, and the Exynos 4 tomorow
If that's correct i go with the Exynos 4, i hate waiting
what the note lacks is a decent GPU. the current GPU can't efficiently handle the 1280x800 pixels. however what i want more than anything is 1. non-pentile screen that is FLAWLESS and 2. a bigger battery still ~3000 mAh like the RAZR max. I would gladly sacrifice a few mm for a larger battery. I find it stupid how HTC decided to go with a slim and NON-REMOVABLE battery and storage to save a few mm. Seriously? This is why HTC is falling in a deep pit.
Exynos 5 dual, it has more power and is more efficient
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
EASILY the A15 with the T-604! Come to papa!
The fastest clock speed and the best GPU is all that matters. 2.2 ghz 2 core with a fab GPU will blow away a 10 core 1.0 ghz with a bad gpu everyday every way.
How about the beast Quad Core A15 Exynos 5450 with Mali T-658? Ok, ok, I know technically it hasn't been built yet and will probably be for tablets, but wouldn't mind seeing it in the Note since it is a tab/phone hybrid.
But as for the current SoC's available now, I would take the A15 dual Exynos 5250 with Mali T-604.
More likely, I think Samsung's road map would be to release the flagship Galaxy S lines (in this case the GS 3) with the latest SoC's, then the next Note (Note 2 in this case) would get a slight spec bump based on the Galaxy S 3 with a faster clocked CPU/GPU combo of the Galaxy S 3 line 6 months later, then the GS4 would get next Gen SoCs with the Note 3 getting a spec bump of the GS 4 SoCs, etc.....
I am sorry.. but this amounts to techie circle jerking..
Quad core processors came out for the PC when not a single application could even use two cores, much less four.. Even today, several years later, for the very very vast majority of applications, it is hard to get a PC to run more that one and a bit processors.. My i7 snoozes, and even cranking up real time low latency audio(a stressful activity)it runs 2 processors at 30% and one at 5%
Therefore I frankly do not care if they put a hamster and a wheel inside the device...as long as the results in operation of the device meets my needs.
So, given my customer needs are for smoother, faster and more reliable operation with better battery life and an enhanced user experience, Samsung can put whatever they want into the device...
In saying that, decisions by the majority of folks are driven by what they think the specifications mean, rather than the impact or result of those specifications in real life usage, so while i am sure its not necessary, a next Note will for sure have a quad core.
With a single core my galaxy s with ics is snappier than my note. Finally its the software I guess.

I agree. Android multitasking would need to be vastly different than what it is today, and on top of this the RAM specs need a major bump to even begin to show advantages in multi-core processing.
Also like you said, it has not mattered for deskptops and laptops what the real-world benefits are, just what the consumer feels about the value in their purchase. Nowadays it seems people are more concerned with the number of cores as opposed to the clock speed.
I do like the approach that Ti has taken with the OMAP in dedicating low-power cores to low-power functions, and feel that it really has potential in mobile devices, but they seem to be a step behind when it comes to the bigger tasks of mobile processing. Intel being on the cusp of Haswell has me excited to see what they can do in this territory.
Dual Exynos 5 for me at the moment.
It'll be interesting to see how they market this dual core a15 processor because joe public, will always think more cores is better. I do feel though that the note 2 might not have the same internals as the s3, like our notes had the same as the s2. For the note they seemed to put in all the best tech they had on offer at the tine, so if the a15 is ready to go by November time then I think they'll defo use it unless something better is available.
Dual core with speed.
Quad cores mean squat if they slow the primary usage down.
I'd rather get a dual than a quad even if its on the same generation and process so long as it is clocked higher. Give me a smaller process, newer gen chip and better gpu? There is no choice.
Id go for the i7 3960x and gtx 690 if they can squeeze that in the next note but I think I wont get a choice and will just end up with whatever Samsung puts into the note 2.

I agree with you....the main reason I created this thread, because I wanted to know how many members actually know the effect of system architecture and the manufacturing process will affect the day to day performance of the device, battery consumption etc.,it was never about the software but I know it everything comes to the OS how deeply it is integrated with the hardware and how effectively it co-ordinates with them...this is why Apple's devices are snappier than the android...the problem here is Samsung is more concerned about bringing more devices out than focusing on the system's deep integration...so it only comes to the fact that the thread is only about the hardware... but the discussion about the embedded systems is also welcomed....

I heard that Note 10.1 tablet is being delayed because Samsung wanted the device with quad than dual...so there is a little chance that the next Hybrid Note will come with some other spec....

[Q] Need advice , Which Note should I buy? Tad urgent

Ok
I've been debating with my self whether or not I should jump in and buy the note 10.1 2014 edition, but in my fact finding efforts certain questions arose ( with a lot of confusion)
1 Will HMP be available to the Exynos 5420 ? I keep finding information that goes both ways...yes...no...maybe
2 Does a root solution exist ( or is in works) that won't void warranty? (knox issues??)
3 Snapdragon or Exynos ( this brings me back to the HMP question!! IF HMP = yes well then Exynos, but...if not...?)
4 Any drawbacks when compared to comparable gen tablets? Lack of features, performance issues , instability etc?
I'm not doubting whether or not I want a pen enabled tablet, but with the new Nvidia pen enabled tablets in the works, samsung is losing it's unique position.
Now I know there are tons of posts all over the place that in essence answer a lot of the same points, but many of the threads go a bit back and forth and often misinformed on key issues...
Like Developer support for and against the Exynos vs Snapdragon etc And HMP support?
Now there is a small ticking clock attached to these questions, I've been offered a 17.5 % discount on the note ( LTE or wifi edition , my choice) But it expires on wednesday (30.okt)
Thanks in advance!!!
Cheers lads!
Short version, get the 32GB LTE version with Snapdragon 800.
Long version:
On current 28nm node forget about 8-core since it consumes too much power and runs too hot. Only possible once it hits ~16nm.
As far as stability Note series is best from experience. In over a year of owning Note 2 and original 10.1 have never experience a random reboot compared to even Google devices that have rare random reboots and other quirks.
For productivity and creativity there's nothing else right now that compares. If you want paperless note taking and drawing this is your best choice.
With high end specs and 3GB DRAM you're future proof for easily two years or more.

But why choose Snapdragon over Exynos? It's more reliable? Better performance? OR?
What about Samsungs talk about HMG capabilities on new gen Exynos?
Anyone know anything about the root question?

What about Samsungs talk about HMG capabilities on new gen Exynos?
Anyone know anything about the root question?

Snapdragon 800 has better graphics performance so that has bigger impact on user experience.
Forget about Exynos HMP for now until they get the node down to ~16nm as previously mentioned.
There's already root that doesn't trigger warranty negating Knox for Note 3 Snapdragon 800 which is a smaller Note 10.1 2014 Snapdragon 800.

Yeah l heard that snapdragon is 20 + % faster gpu. So there's that
But I can't help wonder how HMP (if it's going to be available to the note) would impact the performance of both gpu and cpu (I know that I'm a bit of a broken record)
Didn't know about the root, good to know, but there isn't one ready for the note yet...?
Anyone done a battery comparison between the two SoC ?
Anyone found articles on HMP and note? Looking for solid proof

Btw what about this:
Here is a youtube video from ARM, demonstrating Samsungs Exynox Octa 5420 running all eight cores simultaneously:

As mention before the real problem with HMP is heat or should i say overheat and the battery life.
Do we need 8 core for real ?
It is simple i you need LTE/4G you have to go for SP version, otherwise buy the Exynos and save some $.

8 cores would in theory allow for better utilization of resources if we could get proper octa core. In essence if you're doing low yield tasks with limited needs, then you're using 1-4 of the A7's , if it's moderate then you switch to the A15 cluster, but if it's really demanding then the co-op between the two clusters might come in handy.
It would be great to have the capability available if possible, yeah it would be a drain on the battery, but think of it this way if you really need the power you're going to give up juice one way or another. The question is how smart the algorithms are to figure out your needs.
LTE isn't a must for me, it would be nice but I could go both ways on that issue. I'm more focused on performance, mod possibilities and overal performance vs battery balance.
What can I say I have a need for speed...

Lets be realistic no HMP for note3/10.1!
If you can afford the lte version buy it! But i don't think you gonna see a big difference. Real speed is one thing, benchmark is another one!
I believe the majority buys high-tech devices not because they really need them but other reasons.... i think we should enjoy more those devices and stop compering benchmarks.
Personaly i will buy the SP version cause i need 4G.

No offence taken :good:
Its not like its impossible!
Lets say that tomorrow sammy release the update that allows the 8 cores to work simultaneously, how can they be sure that the device after one month or year will not stop working... we already have read complains that some times the note gets hot.. They can't release a product that might break down every moment.. Imagine the loses the company will take in 2 year time (guaranty) plus the bad reputation.
P.S sorry for my English.

That is true, and absolutely something to consider. There is no real way to predict what effect HMP would really have on the CPU, and for that mater how much of a boost.
I'm just a tad pissed at Samsung for not being clear if / when/ what effect etc an HMP patch would have. In principle it might go fine, and the thermal sleeve on the 5420 might be able to take the heat. Maybe even the algorithms are in place to utilize the full effect and capabilities of the HMG tech. Or the whole thing might not even surface until Samsung S5 with Exynos 5430
I'm just stuck on the fenc, like any true tech geek the idea of true octa core is very tempting, and I'd be kicking my self if sammy Did release the patch tomorrow , but I already bough a snapdragon edition today....
Agony of choice is better then no choice, right?

Hope you enjoy it as much as possible !!! I thinking of buying the 16GB LTE but i don't now if 16GB are enough ? (I will keep the device at least 2-3 years) Of the 16GB how many does the device(stock ) use ?

If I've understood it properly, the OS takes about 4-5 gigs ( note that's the OS and the apps that come with it etc) , so in essence you should have something like 10-12 gig of user available space.
I'de say go for the 32 gig variant.
Yes, you can always add micro SD cards etc, but most apps still don't like moving to ext storage, and in most cases they don't move all of the content but just part of it.
I won't be gaming a lot, but a few games that I do like , GTA 3 and GTA vice city er about 2 gig each ( give or take) so there goes the space, some documents here and there, and apps, and so on and so on...
Anyone know of any difference in lag between the Snapdragon and Exynos versions?

what is this??

As we've posted before, most heating is normal, as phones give off heat when using power or when charging.

Honestly, I don't think there's a problem. Newer phones, with more powerful processors and functions, running more demanding apps, run warmer than older models. We need to know the temperature of the phone that the user thinks is too hot to see if the phone is running within operating specifications.
People who change phones every year will probably not be surprised by today's warmer-running phones. People who have used the same phone for two years or more, probably will be.
And yes, warming is normal. But we want to help you get used to the way these newer phones run.

Arey yar just stop posting here. If you post then make some sense of it. Motorola knows our problems. They are searching for a solution. Finally I say don't post silly comments over here.
Hey guys,
First of all pardon me for the length of this post. I have been following this thread for almost 2 weeks now. And all the statements, made by the senior members/moderators of this forum have been to the same effect, most heating is normal. Infact, one of the senior members even went on to say that he/she would help us get used to the way these newer phones ran! So i decided to find out for myself if this is how the newer phones ran. And as some of our Indian friends blamed us of over-reacting, i also needed to find out, are we posting silly comments? Does motorola really know our problems and are we hindering their 'solution finding'? Lets find out...
Below is the list of some the branded phones in budget segment(except oneplus 3,which i will explain later y i included) that have released in the last one year or so. All these phones were tested by the same person(geekyranjit) under the same conditions. The test was to measure the temperature of these phones after gaming on them for 10-12 minutes. All the tests were done using the same games. Lets find out how normal is our phone compared to other newer phones..

Ash from c4etech got 48.6 degree at front top after 30 minutes of gaming. Abhinav from phonebunch got 47.1 degree in the front and 50.3 degree at the back while gaming for 15 minutes without an AC on but in indoor conditions.
Please Note:
All the tests are done indoors under an AC with an ambient temperature of 27-28 degrees, unless specified otherwise. So heatwave has nothing to do with these temperatures.(Not getting personal, just clarifying)
One plus 3 does not fall under the 'budget' smartphone category but i included it in the list because it uses the latest and the most powerful chipset in the midrange smartphone segment. So if such heat was normal in today's faster processors, this phone should exhibit the most heat.
Conclusion:
All Lenovo phones heat quite a bit more than the other smartphones in this category and that is why probably moderators think that such heat is normal. But no branded phone heats as much as moto g4 plus, not even lenovo's other devices in this segment. So how many of u guys think that this is all normal? Except for oneplus 3 every phone in this list is cheaper than moto g4 plus and most of them have almost the same specs. Do u still think that we are over-reacting and everything is normal with this phone?
and yes they give quick charge 1.0??**** moto
yeah this phone has heating issue, I think the main reason is processor, any intensive processor using apps will heat it up quickly, in 10 minutes and I don't think this could be solved with software update, this is bad because it will lower the life of phone, so in my opinion if you haven't got this phone yet, don't buy it, get redmi note 3 3gb ram instead
i already got it just today but i am normal user...fb whatsapp and coc just
I tested with 'Made In China' and 'Made in India' g4+....quite obviously Indian Device is getting more warmer in less time and even Display is not bright enough when compared to Chinese(Original).
What I'm trying to say is people I saw who are worrying too much about the heating issue are owners of "Made in India". Mine is working fine after the Initial update but getting little warmer after playing too much(I play Nova, asphalt) but I can live with this..
So check your device manufacturer .. and I can say if you bought recently(and got USB charger) then it is Indian and If you purchased at earlier it is Chinese
PS: Mine is chinese..not Indian (check your device box for Name of Manufacturer to know)

Bro mine is a chinese one ....... But have found the reason for overheating during turbo charging......... Check out my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/cracked-reason-moto-g4-heats-turbo-t3403612
And ya over heating upto 45°C is just fine its some thing thats common between my
octacore,3gbram moto g4+
Quadcore,1gb ram sony xperia e3d2212
And quadcore,also 1gb ram hp 7 voicetab.......
Its pretty much common in evryphone now a days
But would like to mention something that i had experienced with my xperia e3
Its that after i rooted it and got rid of a few actually a lot of system apps i dint notice overheating in it evn while playing games like MC4 for almost 3hours continuously with my charger plugged it......
In case of moto g4+ therz no bloatware too(very very less bloatware)so it just might be the chance of over usage...etc....apart from the time of gaming and turbo charging i dont really think the phone heats up to a level that u would have to worry(like 3g all day long with whatsapp snapchat and instagram running all day long)......
wanted to know
