Hello
As we have seen in Sony Xperia Models like Xperia U, ZL etc which has a LED that actually changes colour depending on what content is showing on screen.
On our Nexus there is a LED but it blinks just for notifications.
Is there any way to make Nexus 4 LED like Xperia..?? So that it will change colour depending on the content of the screen..
Thanks guys

the fact is, it IS useless. How would showing a LED that links to the screen be useful?
Is it cool? Well yeah. It's another thing to show off with. But it's still useless.

So mucuracat can't read, scream4cheese likes to open random threads with nothing to contribute and post his opinion on the thread topic believing his opinions are valued, and exb0 likes to be a ****. This is a Nexus Q&A section and doesn't need BS replies like these. Nexus 4 posters should be of higher social function than the babies in other phone sections.
OP, I haven't found ANYTHING that would allow you to do this. It would have to be an app that someone either creates or pulls from the Xperia.

You can use the xylon rom, it has the option for keeping the LED on while charging and when battery is low. I think it also shows different colors for different battery levels (not sure).

i can't tell you how many people have the app (congrats), but almost every thread i see now, somebody has 'powered by tapatalk' in the sign off.
there is a setting in the app to turn that off.
please do.
the spam is killing my eyes, lol
I moderate a forum with over a million members and the Admins will not allow this app to be used with the forum because users will not turn off that signature.
it is annoying and it is advertising. So, if you want tapatalk to grow and become compatible with more sites, TURN THE SIG OFF!

For me, it is really annoying since as I read someone's post, I like to read everything they wrote, and if there is a stupid tag line at the end like that, I end up reading it over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
So it does do harm, by annoying many users of this site and distracting us from what is important, the post itself.

While I see how it can be really annoying to some people. I just hope they don't start banning people because of it. Maybe the developer should make the sentence shorter or something. too hard for an answer?
Seriously?

with sound? by looking at your display?
why should I look at my display? To look every 10 minutes if I got an email....?

Its it possible to have a small notification on the screen?
Its on your status bar.........

Is this your first tablet? Most of them do not have led's. some phones don't even have them. Skyrocket in particular. There is an app you can download that will give you this function, but i forgot the name of it. Maybe you should return it and get a fruit product.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
There are apps that will flash your screen for various notifications. Try Missed Message Flasher.
Tablets are not designed to be your main interaction tool for notifications, that is your mobile phone. The tablet is really only there to do things when your actually using it
You could try the app NoLED https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.led.notify
It flashes up dots or custom icons on the screen when you get various types of notifications. It will also suck your battery a bit though.

It was meant if you want something simple and designed for a child, apple should be your choice. I'm tired of people complaining about the tiniest of details. Yes this tablet is small, but I'm not carrying it around as a phone. If i see my phones led light up and my tablet is closer I'll pick it up and check. I'm an avid Android fan, and apple irritates me. People have to realize this is a tablet, and not a phone. You can get it to act that way, but tweaking is involved. Android is for adults, and people with individuality. Apple is for confused close minded people. Sorry if my comment bothered you. I probably should have explained myself better lol

Hi, I just tried out Touch Control and its amazing. I want to know how does sweep to wake work.
I read the developer saying the digitizer turns off when you lock the screen, so basically how does the phone monitor my touch? Also, will using this for a long term have any effects on my touchscreen? I hope not, because I'm hooked to this.

Is not that no one is interested is that when people want to find out things they generally search them. If you do some searching you will probably find all the answers you need. Also ill effects can only be determined on your end by simply testing out the app.

I've searched enough for this and I couldn't find one thread, one website answering my question. Perhaps you could research too on your behalf, and see if it's at least there after searching, before blabbering like the rest of the idiots here? I don't mind the 150 people who didn't answer, its because they didn't know the answer. But you had to mimic others and say the same things all over again. SEARCH! SEARCH! Also, I'm not interested in breaking my touchscreen just "to see the I'll effects". What the **** is wrong in asking a question?

The response you gave when someone asked for what LED flip case you were referring to. Not everyone knows it was showcased at CES or that it's available. Maybe a language barrier, but it comes off as rude. Rule of thumb is that if you want help, give as much information and give pics if possible, so people will know what you're talking about and will be better able to help you. Otherwise you'll get a very limited number of responses. Just my .02.
Sorry if I sounded rude..didn't mean to..but the other guy that replied was even more impolite than me..I've been using Android phones since the 1st Galaxy S and this is my 2nd Note...so no I'm not an idiot and the Note 4 doesn't outsmart me whatsoever. Anyways sorry again.

The cover takes power from the phone's battery. It will reduce battery life.
What I can't tell you is if it reduces it by any amount you care about, hard to guess how efficient those LEDs are (but they are mighty cool!)
