hello chaps, just switched to barclays bank and cant use the app due to root, same with sky go, just wondering if there is a root on off toggle app or work around? or an easy way to unroot?
OTA Rootkeeper from the market. Believe it allows you to temporarily unroot.

This doesn't work for sky go! Not sure about barclays app?
I don't think there is a root solution for Sky Go!

Does not work for Barclays app either.
Had this issue with YeloTV (an app that won't play with root on)
I'm using SuperSU app, and in settings there is an option "enable Superuser". If I click that off, I can use the yelotv app and it doesn't recognise my device as rooted.
I'm having the same problem, and turning off the option in SuperSU didn't work for me...

Is there any way to block ads in apps such as angry birds with an unrooted device?
Thanks in advance
Either pay for the app or you would have to root.

There really is no way?
the adfree app and the adaway app work nicely.

Did you read the op? He's clearly NOT rooted. Those apps are for rooted devices.
To answer your question, unfortunately no. Other than trying to play your games with wifi/data off (on some games this will be effective), or obviously by rooting.

Seems like I should be able to figure it out just by pressing buttons. But I couldn't figure out how to uninstall my side-loaded apps. Any hints?

Go under system to the advanced settings. Go to apps, find it and uninstall.

I am on 4.3 stock, rooted and unlocked, but can't watch HD movies because of it. Is there anything I can do short of uninstalling root everytime I want to watch a movie or something?
Thanks!

Don't know if this is the same thing, but on the TWC app to watch TV, you just have to turn USB debugging off to use the app.

Thanks for the suggestions, but neither of the two mentioned so far have worked.

If you use SuperSU app you can go into settings and uncheck "Enable Superuser"
how can i pretend i don't have root in order to get an app to work?
Try to go into su and forget it ...then check if that worked.
Launch SuperSU, go to settings and uncheck 'Enable Superuser'. It works for apps like Flixster. Just don't forget to re-enable it when you're done.
I would not turn off root for a pathetic app like Flixter
