No, it has not been.
If you can live with these major bugs, then I suppose you're fine:
1) unable to set to search network by choice on demand
2) wifi (wifi and tethering)
3) bluetooth (to be fair this is more of a 'dragged out' issue since ICS.
4) very poor RAM management (if you're a power user, that is)
Otherwise, its fine just being another unfinished beta in JB.

Performance Issues
Performance seems to degrade over time, especially after installing a lot of apps.

I think v13 is so so.
Cm10 is too large for this phone.
But i have hope to the cm10 made by blefish.

[Q] stable gingerbread ROM

What is the most stable Gingerbread ROM for the Vibrant that is suitable for everyday use?
I've looked at CM7 but I saw a post that said it was an experimental ROM and full of bugs. Is that true?
Thank you
I am on CM7 build 56 and after some tweaking (GPS fix, build.prop edits), it runs great with good battery life, and I found everything I needed in the dev. forum.
Same. I'm on CM7 build 56. GPS fix + recent battery drain fix = awesome, Fusion-quality rom
BTW what those build.prop edits are ? Haven't heard of them, can anyone pls send a link ?

Asgard by a long mile. I'd run it now if it weren't for the blurry MMS that most (all?) GB roms have.

I thought there was an official Gingerbread roll-out in mid-April for the Nordic countries. Has anyone made a ROM based on that?
Juwe's port is the best for me. Tried Revolution and Malice and all were exhibiting same problems. The Juwe 5.1 is blazing fast yet to encounter any lag what so ever no hang up bug. However it does experience occasional soft re-boot and that could be due to TW Luncher issues also I have seen where my radio for voice and data would stop but reboot fix it.
Revolutionary rom is much more stable than cm with battery life that can rival most froyo roms. its also hardware accelerated (wich means way more smooth than cm7 and is capable of playing 720p flash videos on the web ).
miui
flash the official miui rom and then miui energy 7.1 with working gps.
then edit the build prop and calibrate battery
Trigger redux with the glitch kernal.

Better to just ask for opinion

Hello all!
I registered here last winter, at first installing a custom ROM, then the initial 2.3.5 official release - but in the end to be safe rather than sorry, I put in the official 2.2 and been using that for 3 months. Lately though, the 2.2 has proven to be hard to use, especially when typing and correcting stuff. I would be now willing to jump into the waters.
Last time I checked, there wa some reported stuff in official 2.3.5 about dropping calls - then there being a fix for it, and then report about the fix doing nothing.
To me I need my phone to function as a phone, at all times, the interface can be nice but it cannot sacrifice any phone related functionality.
All i simply ask in current situation: How is the official 2.3.5? How is .35 kernel based ROMs? Would you people recommend upgrading to official 2.3.5?
I'd also be interested in the custom roms, though as said, bugs, even minor ones I try to avoid.
Thanks! You people are awesome!
The official 2.3.5 sounds good for your use
Battery lasts long everything works I guess
But try aurora 2.02)

He's asking for stability and you suggest Aurora? Dzo is actively working on it, yes it's mostly stable, but for someone who seems to want to install a ROM and forget about it, not worrying to need to updating it constantly and encounter the occasional bug, I would discourage Aurora.
I recommend you Ezet CM7 .32 ROM, it's the most stable you will find at the moment. Everything works by default, even wifi tether. It's FAST! It's smooth, astounding sound volume in calls and multimedia overall, it's CM7.2, which has ics animations, including rotation, and that's beautiful, it has t9 dialer... better still, it has x5 settings app, in which you can tweak all sorts of stuff that it's simply not possible in .35 ROMs...
But best of all, it's 32 kernel, so on worries about the horrible job Huawei did with the .35 kernel, no missed calls, no problems with amtel screens, no low volume, etc...

Oh really? Sounds fantastic... I think that I could give the best try for - and thanks for fantastic recommendation. Sounds like perfect upgrade for me.
Darn. I got the rom installed and it is working quite well - but wifi is not connecting... I will wait and see does it rectify on the AP overnight - Can´t even test with other AP's even now - but this aside wifi problems in general has always plagued my huawei. And 3G is not free nor unlimited for me, and I am mostly home so WLAN rocks

Yeah... Well Text editing in 2.2 sucks without the arrow tool and all. 2.3.x is enough for that all at least.
Too bad Wifi also halted to function afterwards, I hope it is just devide name mismatch in AP and works fine after 24 hours.
.32 MIUI or CM is what you should use. They are very stable and fast.

Seems like it TTGWarheat, the Ezet 7.2 seemed like a great thing, but I still need to tinker around reinstalling some base system software I think, some kind of error is making my phone result in non-functional wifi and I want to know what it is. I may need to find some older possible 2.2 based stock rom dload, install that first, and then get into monkey business installing Ezet again...

I think that, at this point, it makes no sense using any gb based ROM when we have an almost fully stable ics ROM... gingerbread just doesn't cut it anymore for me... there are a lot of new apps that only run on it. But granted, gingerbread is more stable, no doubt. You have to decide, rock solid stability, but outdated android or updated android experience with the occasional problem

Thank you. I decided for aurora ICS.
Elora
In my humble opinion, Elora is THE rom, a perfect combination of Aurora and Elite Roms, fast, stable, and with the functions that gingerbread should had.
They say, it might get some bugs, like the wifi or the headphone bugs, but I've been using Elora for the last couple of days and haven't seen none of thoose bugs.
Im using aurora ics and i can say that the only bug that i found was the grey wifi icon which never had that problem again since i flashed the init.d scripts for higher fps. So i trully recommend aurora ics. It was my first rom and im really happy with it. Your choice mate

.....
I was using Aurora 4.1 but I found that the wifi went idle time to time and the 3g internet browsing wasnt the fastest, the touch keys wouldn't light up sometimes and some other minor stuff.
I switched to CM7 and I've been using it for about 3 weeks and its so much better imo.
Faster 3g browsing and the other problems went away. I use the wifi and 3g heavily for viber so its great for this use.
I really don't want to sound like a fanatic, but there aren't any wifi issues with elora.

What rom to choose for U8800pro?

Hello,
I may sound like a noob, but thats only because i didn't play with these roms much so far... so, yes, i am a noob
I managed to upgrade my U8800pro to 4.03 official thanks to some of you.
Now i am looking through the forum and many threads and many many custom roms, but i cant decide which one to go with since all seem to have problems...
So the question is: which rom is the most stable+fastest for U8800pro? It would be also nice if normal features (calls sound ok, network works ok, "notification drawer", gmail, youtube, play store, gps, wifi, tethering (wifi, usb), music playback, if possible radio, if not also ok) are also present and working. I really hope there is such rom out there. I dont mind if it is based on 2.x or 4.x (ok, i prefer 4.x, but if some 2.x is better, i will go with that), as long as it works well.
I also have U8800 and there it is easy choice. Go with Aurora, and everything (well, almost everything) works as intended. I also looked for Aurora mod for U8800pro but the best i could find is a mod for Aurora 4.x, while there is already Aurora 5.x out there.
I will post instructions for upgrading 2.2 to 2.3 to 4.03 later on, since i had problems upgrading myself for future noobs to use.
And thanks in advance

Stock Gingerbread
best ROM
nothing can beat it..
ALL custom ROMs for U8800PRO have one thing or the other that'll leave you unsatisfied..
Stock ICS is bad for gaming.
all JB 4.1 have only secondary mic (the one beside the camera) working.. plus, camera doesn't work properly except in stock/pre-installed camera app.
all JB 4.2 have buggy/broken bluetooth
If you don't play heavy games (even Subway Surfers is HEAVY for this phone ).. then you can stick to official ICS.. just unlock FPS (that "install-recovery.sh" thing) and all Temple Runs will be fine.

I'll have to disagree!
Rittik's CM10 ROM is probably the best choice. It's really fast, no lag, and with RAM Manager Pro and History wiping (long press home button), there is absolutely no problem (provided you disable apps to run at startup with Autostart).
Gaming is as smooth as stock GB, except for the games that are ridiculously heavy.
I hope I helped =)

I disagree with both of you. Our friend needs a stable ROM. So I suggest him to try Gingerbread(2.x.x) custom ROMs like THE STALLION ICS look, CyanogenMod 7.2 and MIUI. Everything works like a charm, no reboots, good RAM managment, a lot of extras(the last two ROMs) and no battery drain.
You can downgrade to Gingerbread by flashing step 2 from an official GB ROM.

i have flashed almost all of the roms available for more than a week each (time required to actually see if there are any hidden bugs)
The roms with the least bugs are Kalo and stallion ics.All the others have important issues (for me) thats the reason i didnt stick with them.In general:All ics roms are heavy and laggy, not for games ofcource. All "jb" roms have very serious issues such as awful memory management and awful incall sound, the phone's most important function, broken bluetooths, broken gps, broken wifi, and a lot of smaller bugs.
All miuis have issues, mainly low memory because of the heavy ui.
Cms are almost ok but not quite there.
I didnt want to return to gingerbread after all these beautiful roms but they are just that, beautiful on the outside ugly on the inside!
we have to focus on gb roms, they are the most complete unfortunately, unless a real dev shows up and work on sources

I didn't expect you would say that. I don't think anyone will agree with you.
Stock ROMs lag a lot, have locked fps, are unrooted, less features...
korekore I think you 've tried the MIUI I'm on with right now.

Stable ROM?

i'm looking for a nice stable & reasonably up to date ROM for the A500, any suggestions?
Either of the two 4.3 ROMs are stable insomuch as they don't crash. Most (but not all) users seem to have no stability problems. Main issues tend to be bluetooth or wifi related. I'm on pj's (build 5) right now and the only issue I have is one of my games has some graphics issues. That's more likely an issue with the game, though. I find this ROM to be more stable than the last 4.2.2 ROM I was on.

I tried the 4.3 ROMs from Randomblame, Pjsports, and Thor. Pj's is the best. I gave him a mic fix....don't see why he hasn't implemented it yet...but if you want a nigh bug free 4.2 ROM, use Thor2002ro's 4.2 ROM on tegraowners.com:good:
Been on thors 4.2 for a while now. I tried a couple of the 4.3 roms but nothing was stable enough to use ongoing.
Same question a OP except I have an A501. I need a stable ROM with 3G working (and preferably everything else too, though I don't really need the dock). Should I be looking at a stockish ICS instead of JB?

Yea but some people (like me) have issues with the root and uncontrollable lag of the tablet. I heard Thor fixed it in one of his newer builds. Will check it out soon.
