Today i opened a Nexus4 of a collague.
After the Nexus fell in car it had a gap in cover. When opened we saw that the battery was "newly formed"^^
Ok, trying to extract battery - dont like to put force to it when lying at the display. One Screw ok, the other one refused strictly access to battery.
So i damaged the screw. Will replace it when new battery arrives. But i had no tool to get measures of that screw.
In service manual at page 266 i am not sure which screws are for battery, maybe GMEY0018101 which is M1.4x1.5 - maybe^^
But if this is the right one - where do i buy it in Europe? Only affordable i found was in Australia...
So maybe you can help me:
Which is the right screw holding the battery of the N4?
Which are the measures of that screw?
And the most important one: Where may i buy it w/o paying as if broken the display^^
Thank you.

Looking for the same screw in Israel
As described ifound: Service Manual, page 266, i am not 100% sure which screw - but the most likely is GMEY0018101.
Google gave me an australian Service Center.
It (can not link it by forum policy) defines the screw as GMEY0018101,1.4 mm,1.5 mm,SWCH18A ,B ,TRI , LG Spare Part for Mobile Phones KF900(LG Spare Part forMobile Phones ,KF510 ,KF700 ,KF900)
With that i googled "LG service center". Got a page at lg.com where a shop is linked. In this shop i entered the LG-Partsnumber. Less than 3€ per screw. But shipping is a bit expensive at 7€. 10€ overall for one screw... 13€ for both. hmmm...
But "better than nothing".

I am so annoyed with myself.
I've had my Exec now for just over a year. But to be honest, there has been nothing else that takes my fancy.
Anyway, over the weekend whilst camping I put my mobile down in the back of the car. I was then movin stuff around, and accidently put a gas bottle on top of the screen. I now can't see anything when I switch it on, and can see a mark at the top when switched off.
To be honest, the screen was feeling a little loose anyway. Is it possible to just unscrew the top and screw on a new screen, or can anybody do screen repairs?
Or is there something similar that might be worth getting in replacement? New XDA for example or maybe Ipaq?
unscrew the top and screw on a new screen.in indonesia it will cost u 2.300.000 rupiahs.or u can do it at srvice centre.
Well, I found a company who have replaced the screen. But the display rolls if the case is shut so has to be left sticking up. They say that the "top board" is damaged and the pressure causes the problem, but they say they are struggling to source a replacement board.
Replacement screen = £100
Replacement board = ????
Starting to sound like better buying a 2nd hand one from eBay!
Take it into one of the carphonewarehouse service centres and see what they say, their standard repair charge is £40
Dude i had the same prob with my exec. a repair shop quoted around 12000 Rs ie:146 Pounds, so i cancelled ma plans of repairing it. But after waisting sum time on ebay i finally got a Screen for 60Pounds n got it fixed for only around 3 pounds. n It works like new.
So i think u betta buy it from ebay.

After reading your post in a forum based on the installation of an IMate JasJar screen, I see you concluded your post by saying the job of replacing the screen was "easy". How much time did it take to make this repair.
Thanks,
John

You can pick up a replacement screen/touchscreen for between £50 and £70 on eBay. Replacing is a straightforward affair. Just follow the instructions in the service manual (you'll find it in the forums if you do a search) and should take approx 20 minutes.
Just for your comparison:
My screen was broken. The qtek service in the Netherlands asked 250 euros..
I was planning to go to China (Shanghai) anyways, so I waited and had a new screen + repair for 120 euros... I'm happy!
Anyone know where i can get another battery door? my kaiser fell and has picked up a bunch of huge knicks on the back. lmk thanks
anyone? my battey door is actually now broken from one side and it wont close (sadly its practically half opened from the back heh)
I would like to know where to get one too. I have some modification ideas and I need a couple to experiment on.
just called customer service you can order directly from htc only the price are crazy...
I hate the rubberized cover
I wish OEMs start making non-rubberized replacement covers. If we cried out loud that Black Trinity's Batt Cover is a fingerprints trap, Kaiser's original cover is a dirt trap and every new casual touch adds to it's sorry look.
The only solution I found yet is BodyGuardz rear transparent part..
BTW rubberized does not and should not mean doing it poorly. My IBM Thinkpad cover follows the same concept, but is much tougher to both touch and scratch..
Any ideas ?

I just called HTC America to see if I could get a spare back cover for my TyTN II. Well, they don't carry that part because "it's not a US model". OK, I then ask for a back cover for the Tilt and she responds "We don't carry parts for OEM branded HTC devices". So I replied, "Great, why do you exist?" She replied "we carry very few parts". What a great company. So it's off to AT&T? I'm not thinking I'll get much love there...
So, I am now very interested in finding a source for the back cover that will ship to the USA.
hopefully the folks at www.cnn.cn will have them in the next couple of months. i purchased replacement casing for my Trinity and my Q from them in the past..
yeah, ive already called ATT, they dont have any extra parts for the tilt yet. i figured HTC would want atleast $45 - 50 for the piece ahh. im going to call them up today. thanks anyways guys

cnn has the largest range of spare part, and is one of the most reliable online stores, just send them an email, and they will try to get the items in as quick as possible.

Go to any service center and order the door they should have this part.I ordered in Romania and in 3 day they bring the piece ( original part OEM ) and cost 20 USD with VAT (TVA,tax). Not cheep but original part .
So any new regarding this? I'd be interested to know! And there are other threads showing how to "dismantle" the kaiser, we could do some Tutorial on how to proceed
It may be worth waiting for the mega capacity batteries that are too big to fit in the usual battery space. They usually come with a new extended cover.
That way you could kill two birds with one stone - better battery capacity and a free replacement battery cover.
im looking for one too, but a cover for the tilt with no camera.
If i could get my hands on a battery cover with no camera hole, i would do a dismanteling tutorial.
Found one "special order"
My phone fell and the little plastic cover on top of the camera broke. Tried to fix it but doesn't look nice. I just found a back door (special order), hopefully it will arrive in like 2 weeks not 2 months.

i dropped my brothers htc athena x7500, now, after picking up all the pieces and spending many hours reassembling, it works fine, but is a mess, and buttons are missing. where can i get just a replacement casing? complete with buttons. already tried all the usual suspects...(ebay)
any one help please?
Search around here, someone posted about a replacement case recently. However, it was expensive and didnt have buttons.
I have searched for quite some time now but I can't find the links to the shop that sells the case (I do get dozens of links to leather cases, but it's not what I'm looking for). Anyone has the right lienk?
Thanks,

Dude you paid 97 dollars for a piece of metal. man, my screen would need to be in different parts of the world before i could justify that!!!! were you not covered under warrantee? or maybe your very successful and loaded? in which case can i have some money?
My X7500 is so scratched and dented that it really looks like a piece of garbage... So yeah, I think it's worth replacing the housing. Unfortunately even the ebay auction failed: no unit left... I'm back to my quest for a new (black) housing!
Brando sells them now. I've just ordered one. Anyone know of a good dissasembly guide?

Could you please post the link to the replacement housing sold by Brando? I can't find it in their e-shop.
Hi,
Look here http://mobile.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03131 It's the one that I ordered.
Regarding the replacement case, I found on ebay a dummmy X7500, used for display in stores etc. In fact it's just a housing with a fake screen and a piece of lead inside to make it heavier. I got it for 40 € instead the 75 €for the replacement case only....
Cool. I got notice from my post office that a package has arrived from hong kong, gonna go and see if it's that after my lecture.

Did it work ok for you to switch the housing?
I'll get the TORX screwdrivers only tomorrow, I'll try and let you know. But it does look promising, as the housing is the same, and I have detailed info about the disassembly in the service manual.

Yes please keep us informed as I have managed to get my hands on a similar case (ie shop demo unit).
Also let us know the sizes you use for the Torx drivers (I only have a T6) and any things you need to look out for.
oh yes. tmobile ARE helpfull
ok. i noticed how much money were all willing to spend on housing and i then had a sudden realisation. im tight. i dont wanna pay for something that is going to be destroyed again when the kids use my phone as a frisbee or coffee matt.
I called up tmobile. explained that the casing was scratch (of course i mentioned it was a design fault with the casing and magnets, not that i had repeatedly dropped it)........
and good old tmobile said "no problem, send you phone to us and we will repair/replace it. after removing the wm6 updates and a system reset i sent it off. 4 days later, a completley new phone. excellent service.
Hi guys,
I thought it would bw hard.
It was.
I managed to disassemble completely the dummy unit, and it wasn't easy. The instruction in the manual are correct, but not quite complete (there are a few times when you must guess some key points), and it doesn't always apply to dummy units
I managed to get a clean and mostly unscratched casing (it looks like new actually), but the buttons (internet explorer, OK, Windows) are torn.
Now I'm reluctant to open my X7500, I'm afraid I'll ruin the buttons and as I don't have any replacement, I would be left with holes instead of buttons. I saw that even the casing sold by Brando has no buttons provided.
So do it at your own risk... But for now I won't open mine, except if the case really gets badly beaten.

I got the windows, ok button and internet button in my brando housing. Plus the right side buttons.
Then you may try and keep us posted maybe.
The one good thing is, I found out that removing the magnets (as I never use the keyboard) is very easy: just unscrew the three screws holding the bottom plate and remove it carefully (there are a few hooks that must be pried apart). The three magnets are visible and easily removable from the bottom plate (they are glued).
So I'm one of the North American users who got the devices attached to the gay leather pouches that are attached with screws.. Ive removed the 3 screws and the leather case because it's anoying...
I currently have 3 Sharp metal screws protruding (the 3 screws removed drilled into these)
I found out the Part numbers for the proper screws and the rubber feet to cover them.
76H01969-00M X 1
76H01968-00M X 1
76H02025-00M X 1
72H01821-00M X 3
Now I've contacted HTC numerous times over e-mail. Asking where to order... half the time they wont respond, the other times they say you cannot purchase parts, and I have to send my device in to be repaired...
I don't want it repaired, I just want these 3 screws, and the proper rubber feet...
Does anyone know where I can buy these HTC parts listed above? I'd be indebt!
I remember a postiing here about someone who had perfected his "gay" shift without having to send it a correctional facillity
Just did a minute search but couldn't find the posting, it should be around though.
Anyone with better search qualities ? It's about someone who crafted a solution himself.
lol,
I refuse to use that leather case, and the screw mounts are just scraping the crap out of my desk because they come out further than the case... haha
Only reason why I leave them on is because I drag this thing around and don't want it falling apart on me when I'm out.
Ordering parts not possible!
I recently had the vent on my device broken, I honestly do not have a clue how it got broken but it got to a point that I just want to fix it. I called HTC hoping it will be done under warranty, I was wrong! Firstly I was charged £250 to fix a simple wire gauze on the vent at the back of the device, I refused and told them to pack my device and send it back...except that it will cost me about £50 for the luxury of their diagnosis of a cosmetic issue.
I was appaled and requested for my device anyway, I had to log on to their repair website to pay to have it back, this time, I saw that the price has gone down to £135 to replace the tiny gauze or half that just to get the item back...I paid.
I was asked for me feedback, I advised them they're better off without asking me!
I'm shocked that HTC handles things in this kind of fashion...
I used to have an HP iPaq HW6955... I used that phone forever, no issues for years...
Finally towards the end, small things kept breaking... HP had a website where you could order parts... And to my surprise they were cheap as hell too...
Did probably 5-7 repair jobs myself until one day some random idiot shoulder checked me into a cement wall and the phone was at the end of its days (on my hip between me and the wall) RIP! hahha
Still, I can't beleive HTC doesn't provide these types of services.
The solution on this forum is what you need

The solution I remember the guy talking about was that he sanded off or polished something... no pun intended here.
Anyway, he found a way to order some screws that would fit his holes, from his device that is, and he was a happy gaymer afterwards.
I tried "digging deeper", but couln't find that posting. Damn, I know it will be a solution for you. Try yourself too.
Hi guys, i've recently bought this device, and i've encountered this problem so far
If i turn on wifi, it turns on but it can't seem to find any connection nearby, while i'm sure i'm within my wifi range.
I tried another android rom, i tried flashing stock rom using task29 first but to no avail.
How can i fix this problem?
Looks like you could have a faulty device, try returning it.

i saw that answer, but i bought it used from ebay and i think it has no more warranty.
typical of an eBay used device, I suspect it been repaired (new digi) & no wifi is result of bad workmanship.
check for signs of repair such as no void sticker on 1 screw under battery cover & digi not looking as flush or solidly mounted as feel should be & perhaps pry marks on housing edge to digi glass.
If looks like worked on you can suspect coax/antenna connections for wifi loose or broken & rear cover needs removing to confirm/repair.
Check return options via eBay before doing anything to it though as best result if faulty is returning it to the lying scum seller & getting a refund & eBay get no fees for there role in fronting an easy platform for selling ****e goods.

Have you tried to manually ADD a Wifi network? My HD2 needs it sometimes, and then works like a charm on the same network.
Next time if it does not find the network, try Deleting the saved network, and then Scan/Add the same network again.
