Hi all,
I have some trouble whith omega v3.0 on my phone.
I follow the entire howto from original post by Indie.
Flashing my XXUAMDN with the stock rom XXUAME2.
Everything worked.
Installing the TWRP.
Everything still worked.
Flashing the omega v3.0.
Worked fine.
I was Installing all my apps, parametering all my account... All was fine.
I fibally installed my Copilot. Having some troubles while importing my POI... So i decided to reboot my phone... And there is the drama....
Phone was locked to the start screen (i believe you call it Bootloop...)
So, i made Dalvik cache, cache and factory data wipe.
Still blocked. I reflashed rom with the stock XXUAME2. Still block until i made one more time a cache and factory data wipe... Phone booting normally... ouf... i save my phone
On some french forums, someone tell me that CWM is 9505 compliant.
So, i flashed it via Odin.
But when i try to fash omega v3.0, i am block on CSC Backup screen.
I have to force the reboot of my phone, and so, i can't install the omega rom.
Did someone have same trouble ?
Does anyone can help me to flash this rom ?
Thank you in advance.
Edit : sorry for my long post....
One more thing. I found this file : /storage/sdcard0/csc_Backup.tar.gz
Can it block the csc backup processed while flashing the omega rom ?

Corrupted file
You probably have a corrupted file, you need to download Omega 3.0 file again. It took me 8hrs to download it, so it can be a pain for you.

Hi cold22.
I don't think the file is corrupt because i flash it once and at the first time, the device works fine.
For you information, via the torrent file, the omega v3 was dowloaded in 30minutes (and i don't have a high speed connection....)

Strange, anyway the step I took to install is:
0. I remove all pattern or locked screen code.
1. Flash the stock firmware XXUAME2 using Odin, from the PDA selection.
2. Let it boot back into the phone.
3. Install TWRP using Odin again.
4. Let it boot back into the home screen.
5. Boot into Recovery.
6. Wipe Data/Dalvik manually.
7. Install Omega 3.0, as per instructions.
8. Let it boot, this will take up to 5mins for me.
9. After it boot into the phone it should be OK, make sure SuperSU is there.
Other than that nothing special I did.

Thanx for the procedure
That's what i did at first time. And everithing goes well.
But, since i had to flash one more time with XXUAME2 (via odin), and install CWM (always via ondin), i'm block at CSC backup a the begining of Omega installation....
Anyone else ?
Does anyone test to install omega v3.0 with CWM ?

Same Problem here. I have tried to flash Omega v3.0 with the cwm v6.0.3.2. I've used a pre-rooted ROM for getting the root --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40710278 could it be thats this pre-rooted rom causes the csc backup problem?

Hi, you don't need to be root to flash omega. Omega is already rooted. Just flash first with stock rom XXUAME2.

Yes i know, i'll try to flash the stock ROM and then Omega, thank you : ). P.S. The csc-Backup has been created, i found it in the root dir of the sd-card
for me it took quite a long time for the CSC backup... it did not work with LTE once it was finished to reverted to stock deodexed
it took... about 5-10 minutes for mine to backup the CSC.

Can you tell me which recovery do you use (CWM or TWRP) ?
EDIT : i do have the csc_backup.tar.gz in the root dir of sdcard too, and i suspect it to block the omega installation.
Is it the first flah of omega you did ?

Dear All,
I am struggling to introduce different firmware to my GT-i9500CHN.
I have got from China original Samsung retailer. (went thru several checks it is genuine GT-i9500)
I have tried to put 'European' firmware as Chinese one is 'google-less' and has only Samsung Chinese IME. (I am living in the UK)
My current baseband version is I9500ZCUCMF3 and handset is not accepting any other (getting 'soft brick' via ODIN), so I am able to go back only to I9500ZCUCMF3.
My Kernel version is: 3.4.5-868190 [email protected] #1, Mon Jul 1 20:14:37 KST 2013
Has anyone have experience with changing that firmware?
Thank you for your support.

I have finally managed to download rar. It contains:
1.adonis_3g.pit
2.BOOTLOADER_I9500ZSUBMF6_927537_REV00_user_low_sh ip.tar.md5
3.CODE_I9500ZSUBMF6_927537_REV00_user_low_ship.tar .md5

5.CSC_OZS_I9500OZSBMF6_927537_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I have tried to flash 3.CODE_I9500ZSUBMF6_927537_REV00_user_low_ship.tar .md5 and failed & soft brick.
Fortunately I am able to go back to 3. I9500ZCUCMG1_I9500CHNCMG1_I9500ZCUCMF3_HOME.tar.md5.
I am just wondering what can happened if I fail to flash it with all 5 above files. Can I come back to 3. I9500ZCUCMG1_I9500CHNCMG1_I9500ZCUCMF3_HOME.tar.md5 ? Or I would need to flash 5 original files (which I don't have..)

It is the MODEM file. As I said, leave the baseband alone... Those files you downloaded are for i9500 HK version, but you are holding China Mainland version. They might have minor difference.
Download latest twrp.tar file and flash using Odin in the PDA tab.
Press Volume UP + Home immediately after reboot, you should see TWRP UI if succeed.

Hi Cellegg,
I have found below instruction to install TWRP:
http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s4-using-twrp-method/

What do you think about it?

Following that instruction would work. Yes, you need flash SuperSU to root your phone.
But if you want to flash other non-stock rom, just ignore that step, most of non-stock rom already includes SuperSU.
I haven't heard of any China Mainland version cellphone encountered SetUID restriction issue.

Custom Rom would be better.
Try OMEGA rom:

Presume you know how to use TWRP, backup all your stuff and full wipe (cache, delvik cache, rom, data)

Dear Cellegg,
I have tried to flash OMEGA as advised, but unsuccesful. I have read on the OMEGA thread, that:
Wipe cache partition automatic before roms installation
Wipe Dalvik Cache automatic during installation
Wipe preload partition automatic before roms installation
Wipe System automatic before roms installation
is included, so I didn't proceed with wipe (I have seen it being wiped while flashing)
I have also flashed XXUBMG9 at the beginning as advised on OMEGA thread.
After reboot, I have got standard white 'Samsung logo GT-i9500' and after that nothing happened --> black screen...
I was able to restore via TWRP to start point.
Any ideas?
thank you

Wipe procedure during OMEGA installation somehow would not fully remove stock files...you have to use TWRP's wipe to do that.
1) Advanced Wipe in TWRP (data, system, cache, delivk cache.)
2) flash OMEGA rom
One more thing, if you encounter WIFI or Bluetooth issue, try to flash different kernel, Adam kernel.

Hi Cellegg,
Thank you for hints.
I have followed OMEGA's instruction about modem:
'Flash the new modem XXUBMG9 before flashing Omega v12, get it from here or from Omega Files free and Pro. If you did not flash the new modem first then you may loose your modem. If this happens flash XXUBMG9 modem to restore it'
What do you think about it?
I will try with Advance WIpe in TWRP as next.
[edit] Unfortunately same result after flashing modem XXUBMG9 and Omega v12 rom - black screen... no idea why?!
Any ideas?
[edit2] I have checked information about baseband/modem in 'About device' and it is showing: I9500XXUBMG9

It seems you had successfully flashed the MODEM/baseband, if I9500XXUBMG9 showed in 'About Device'
I would say try again...or try other Recovery and Roms...
Anyway, if all above failed..here it is the Google apps package: http://www.vdisk.cn/down/index/13790672 (hit "智能线路下载" to download)
You must root your phone before flashing it.

Hi all,
I rooted my smg900f two days ago and flashed a recovery, everything went fine, I tried a couple of custom rom and at some point I noticed that I didn't have root access anymore (checked with root checker). I launched towelroot again, and now it says that my device is not supported yet. Does anybody encountered the same issue ?

I have clockwork recovery, I had Omega ROM running on my phone (maybe at this moment I already lost root but I only noticed it after), I tried to flash this mod, it didn't work so after a few tries I full wiped my phone and insalled Omega 8.0 again. Then I noticed I lost root access when trying to open some apps.
I also flashed the bootloader for SMG900F featured in the Omega rom thread

I have clockwork recovery, I had Omega ROM running on my phone (maybe at this moment I already lost root but I only noticed it after), I tried to flash this mod, it didn't work so after a few tries I full wiped my phone and insalled Omega 8.0 again. Then I noticed I lost root access when trying to open some apps.
I also flashed the bootloader for SMG900F featured in the Omega rom thread

Then i suggest you flash a stock rom, factory reset and root/flash custom recovery from scratch. Its seems some files are messed up that prevents you to root. Backup important files to the pc/sdcard first. That is what i would do at least

Good luck mate. After the flash and factory reset flash a custom recovery and then the superSU.zip and you`re rooted.

There should be a folder on the sdcard named Clockworkmod with the backup, save it to the sdcard before you factory reset. No a backup can`t be flashed with Odin, only in recovery

Did you flash a stock rom with Odin or flash a custom rom in 3rd recovery? Just do a data factory reset in recovery, pull the battery and wait 20 seconds and flash a stock rom with Odin.

Well i kind of know the rules of XDA.
But here's the catch, i have tried that method mentioned above.
Downloaded the .tar file and flashed via Odin. And now my phone is stuck on Samsung logo forever.
That's why posted here.

Hey
You are only flashing a kernel...not a full 4.4.2 original image.
And that's why you're stock on the boot logo.

As mentioned you are flasing only kernel, i use odin 1.85
stock 5.0.1 roms mega mirrors http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...06-lolipop-official-samsung-firmware-t3023794 thanks to @Mar10
and tar files from 4.4.2 open nordic countries thanks to @DeHAWK

XXUCNI1 https://mega.co.nz/#!1EtAWTQB!zHVAwXe3odz6ipvhZmpdSXUnTKy1w_oYRpRlRMRa6DQ
take the battery out wait 5-10 secs and enter to download mode to avoid modem issues.
its not recomendable but if you have a backup of a pit file for your phone select it and thick re-partition, this is dangerous but may help with bootloop only if flashing the firmware with no repartition work, repartition with out a pit file may brick your device.

One more noob question..
I did a back up of my touchwiz before converting to CM.
And i got the back up file as normal file folder instead a zip file.
I wonder if there is a way to restore it.
I already tried zipping it and restoring from philz recovery...but it says bad file.

you´re welcome.
did you do the backup from philz recovery? i never did a backup from recovery, only with titanium, so i really dont know, but to restore a backup needs to be done from the same source that the backup was created. for the screen shots looks like a CWM recovery backup good luck.

but after the first samsung screen (samsung galaxy s4) and a blue T logo, it gets struck on the third screen with only samsung written on it with a solid blue led.
(( what the heck am i doing wrong.
Anyway i flashed the full image with odin..(taken from your link).
And back to touchwiz again.
Thanks a lot.
One more thing is, it changed my baseband version a bit.

Sorry to bother you again.
But i am facing a new kinda problem now with custom recoveries.
After flashing NEE-I9506XXUCNJ1-20141114075501 yesterday it got auto updated to 5.0.1 lollipop .
Now i am stuck with stock recovery.
Tried to flash philz 6.x.x.x as before with odin. The odin process completes itself and reboots the phone.
But when i try to get into recovery still its booting in stock recovery.
Any solution on how can i flash custom recovery on this ?
Additional info
Baseband version : I9506XXUDOA6
bUILD NUMBER : LRX22C. I9506XXUDOA6
Flash your Favorite Custom Recovery with Odin 3.xx and put it to AP. Check that Auto Reboot isn't marked. After successful flashing your Phone won't to reboot. USB Cable out and put your Battery out and wait few seconds. Put your Battery in and reboot it to Recovery. The Stock Recovery can't now overwrite the Custom Recovery.

in lollipop i used TWRP recovery (TWRP_2.8.4.0_ks01lte_20150207.tar.md5)https://www.mediafire.com/folder/p3rwwfm7xn76x/TWRP flashed with odin 1.85 no problems.
but after rooting with cf autoroot http://download.chainfire.eu/502/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-ks01lte-ks01ltexx-gti9506.zip( extract and flash with odin in pda) because cf autorrot flash stock recovery after rooting.
Important after rooting flash immediately custom recovery, if you boot in stock recovery after root all apps will force close and you will need to wipe data (stock recovery wipe data will delete internal memory as well), so do not boot in stock recovery.

- you should be on kitkat stock rom.. the recommended firmware is NH6 and NK1 base
- root your phone
- then install recovery like cwm 6.0.5.1 or philz 6.49.0. you can find it on grand 2 thread easily
- after that install S6 styled S5 port. before install. make sure youdo this :
1. wipe data, cache, and dalvik. wipe dalvik can be find in advanced option
2. format system and boot in mount and storage option
3. then flash the rom
4. then aroma installer should be begin. there 2 option here
- wipe external sd card : this will wipe all your external sd card
- no wipe
if you dont want your data in ext gone.. dont choose wipe ext sd card !
instead use no wipe
5. oh yeah after that flash deds kernel v2.0 in kernel section of grand 2 thread. if you already download it. just flash it..
the reason flash deds kernel because it will fix the wifi and xposed installer issue
- and its finished. just reboot your phone now.. wait 5 minute and yay..
if i help. please hit thanks button okay

hmm maybe you should do this
- flash stock rom nk1 again and root it again
- after root your phone, reboot .and you will see supersu app. open it.then you will see knox bootloader. choose disable bootloader. then now it update binary from supersu. choose normal .dont use twrp/cwm option. reboot again. and now download busybox in play store. after that install the busybox
- then flash recovery.. and then see the instruction of flashing rom in my previous post
note : dont flash deds kernel v2.3e... it will brick your phone... flash deds kernel v2.0
please tell me if it works or not
I opened superu after reboot by it is showing nth in hw to disable bootloader
