[Q] About the Google Play Music Widget... - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just updated to the latest version of Google Play Music and got the new UI, it looks good and everything, but there's one problem, the homescreen widget changed from 4x1 to 3x1 for some reason. Now, It looks crappy and I want the 4x1 widget back. I have already uninstalled updates/force stop/disable re enabled/rebooted, no luck. I don't know why this is happening now 0or if it is happening to any others, but yeah, I thought the play music widget was resizable 4x1, now it is a unresizeable 3x1. Help please! How do I get it back to 4x1?
Rooted Nexus 7, Stock Jellybean 4.2.2

I also have Nova launcher installed so I checked and on Nova launcher the widget was 4x1 instead of 3x1, the correct size it was before I updated the play music app, which can also be resizes on Nova launcher. What could be causing the problem? Should I clear data/uninstall updates/force stop other applications besides the music app (I already tried those things on the music app.) Like Google services, framework, etc?
The top screenshot is the Nova launcher app drawer /widget section, the bottom is the stock launcher app drawer/widget section.

One more thing, I noticed when I go into landscape that on the stock launcher widget section, the play music widget changes from 3x1 to 4x2, and you can see the way it is. Did I do something wrong or is this hot not working correctly?
How do I fix this!?

Xperia Music Player Widget

Hello everyone
Can someone tell me where i might get the stock arc music player widget? I guess I somehow deletet it :-(

i didn't think there was a way to delete it, just press and hold on your home screen then select widgets then scroll down to Music Player
Unfortunately I can't seem to put it back... I don't find it anymore in the widget list.
You see that music player widget on all promo shots of the arc and it is also included when you the first time start up your arc (and don't modify it like i did ....)
Did you change the home launcher? If so you can only use it on the stock home

@IntMD
Yep, changed the launcher to GO LAUNCHER. well I guess that's the price I had to pay for switching launchers
is it possible to get this widget for cyanogen or miui?
Nope. This only works on the stock home launcher.
same thing happened to me, download widgetsoid and you can make your own music player widget

My Library widget no longer working right ... fix?

When I first started the nexus up, the homepage had a dynamic library widget ...ie where all of the media was scroll able (a movie section, magazine, books, and music and I could scroll through all the choices in their own categories). Now, I just see pictures of some media that I've used recently and that's it. It's ticking me off ... I even wiped my nexus and started from scratch but that dynamic my library widget return; I'm left with the static/picture only one. Is there a fix for this?
My library didn't work when I used a different home launcher like apex or nova...

I figured apex had something to do with it ... so I just wiped my nexus and started from scratch but the widget still isn't working the way it was when I first got it. I really liked that scrolling widget.
Anyone?

play widgets

When I add a Play widget to a screen, only an arrow and blank rectangle appear. How do you activate them? I'm using go launcher. Same thing with any of the play widgets.
I tried them, and they worked okay.... I prefer just the app icon though.
Using Stock launcher though.... Might be a Go Launcher issue.

Widget Disappearing on Alternate Launchers?

So I decided to upgrade to Soundhound plus, in large part because of the 1x1 ID Now widget. I can deploy this without issue when using the stock Touchwiz Launcher. For some strange reason, I cannot use it with other launchers, so far having tried Go Launcher and Nova Launcher. In each case, the widget list only shows the other (4x1, non-auto-start) Soundhound widget, not the ID Now one I want. This, of course, is an issue, because I want to make use of ID now, but I also really want to switch to a better launcher, one that will allow me to put more content on each homescreen.
Thoughts?
EDIT: A related problem: Pandora widget works in stock launcher but not Nova launcher.
Some widgets are only built for selected launchers. For example the AccuWeather widget only works on touchwiz launcher. And won't work if you use a third party launcher.

Try Apex Launcher it works perfectly for me. Never had one single problem with widgets on Apex Launcher yet.

This is exactly what I wound up doing. Loving Apex so far.

You can't find it in Go Launcher (and possibly others) because it's a "Shortcut" and not a widget. I have Go Launcher and ID Now is under Shortcuts .

Widget resizing in 4.4.2?

Just upgraded to 4.4.2 and now a couple of my widgets have changed size. Specifically Google play music and Google sound search. They used to be 4x1, but are now stick at 3x1 and cannot be changed. Is this a new launcher thing? Thx!
