Hello, I am having trouble with getting into download mode on my Net10 Optimus L5. It is rooted with CWM installed. I have googled and watched videos on how to do it but it will not enter this mode. It just boots normally or goes to "safe mode". What can I do. I am trying to flash a different software so that I can use T-Mobile instead. I have the KDZ file and everything is installed correctly. When I say different FW I mean the stock T-Mobile for Austria so it "unlocks" it. I just need to change the service provider on the phone. Also I cannot get it to unlock either. Any help would be appreciated. Please.
you can try this, just choose another port of your pc
Can you please walk me through this? I am used to iPods and apple devices more than android.

Hello, I have the same issue.
I rooted the phone and unlocked the bootlader, it had cwm 6.0.4.5 installed. the phone took an owa update. the symptoms are as follows:
the phone only boots to the cwm recovery.
I can not get into download mode trying the up or down volume. My pc refuses to install the driver for the d800 even though i can see it as a device in device manager. I have installed lLGMlauncher as well as the LGUnitedMobileDriver.
Thank you for any ideas you may have

Have you gone to device manager, update drivers on your device, let me choose and then pick the ( I cant remember the exact name but it has to do with media, maybe mtp driver. It will then mount you phone
download a Rom along with gaps and flash
This is the basics, as I am away from my PC right now, there are many guides in the general area, I believe.
Sorry I cant be of more help at the moment
easiest would be to go to the dev section and download one of the many kits to get you back on track though.
Sorry. Was traveling and in cebu now. When I get my internet running I will try to check the driver. I still can not get into downliad mode on the phone however. I think it isn't PC dependant
First time poster, long time user of XDA...I tend to lurk.
Anyway, I just rooted, TWRP'd, and downloaded the newest PA for my LG G2 (ATT) but when I went to wipe, I accidentally clicked internal storage. So I'm stuck in TWRP right now. I decide to try my hand at side-loading, but I get the error message of: error: device not found. I checked device manager and the G2 is listed as an "Other Device" with an exclamation point on it. I go to load the driver... Can't find one.
Does anyone have any idea what driver I can use so the system will recognize my G2? I'd rather not go back to stock just to re-root/recovery/install. I have all the current drivers from LG, but as this is the G2 in recovery mode, I don't know how to get it recognized.
Thank you, in advance, for any help!

If you're using windows 8 then you'll have to disable driver signing to install the adb driver. Google it.
Google universal adb driver (i think by koush). I had the same issue. I am on Windows 8 and didn't have to disable anything.
or if the universal adb drivers probably wont work you can try downloading the lg united mobile driver

Thanks for the responses everyone!
I actually faked the device by using PDA net. It installed a generic lg driver for my G2, then adb was able to recognize the device and side load after that.
Hope this helps someone in the future.

Thanks, it took me forever of searching on XDA to find this. Works great after faking the ADB drivers for recovery. I used some other ADB driver, from Google inc, I believe. Great work.

(Downloading software: Please wait until download is complete. Download time may vary depending on PC and internet connection settings.) But these no status bar, it disappeared, and the timer has stopped at 00:00:13..
what am I doing wrong? Im not good at this stuff persay so please answer in layman's terms! Please help me! Please!:crying:
Help. Mine says the same thing after I connected to usb and went thru the steps: I'm stuck at the "Downloading software" panel:
"Please wait until download is complete. Download time may vary depending on PC and internet connection settings."
But the time bar is gray. It has been stuck on 00:00:40, for 5 mins. Is this a problem with hosts or? (I dont remember blocking any lg host sites). Trying to fix LG VOLT.

Google is your friend: http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGVS980
Thanks everyone root is successfully c:
Rooted went well... not the reboot
I was successful in rooting then attempted to install TWRP. The phone turned off then turned on with the "android open stomach and !" icon... it shut off a few mins later.
Now, all I get is the buzz when you power it on and a black screen. Im not able to enter the recovery mode using any combination of buttons.
LG Mobile Support Tool nor my computer will even recognize the device. Am I truly bricked beyond repair?
So I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, AT&T, rooted, running 4.2.2. It's been stuck on 4.2.2 as I don't really live in the US.
Rooting was fairly easy using TowelRoot. I tried to get a little more adventurous and tried to use Rashr from Google Play Store without having to use ODIN to install TWRP. It rebooted to the Downloading... Do not turn off target!! screen. I somehow figured out to go to recovery mode by pressing volume down + power + home button to go to the "Custom ROM" warning, where I chose Cancel by pressing the volume down button, and was able to restore my device back to where it was. I seemed to have screwed up something with the Micro SD card as it's not reading it and asking me to format it. ****.
This time I'm going to do my research before attempting anything.
The USB port is broken. I can charge my phone but I cannot do any data transfer. I've tried many different PC's, it just doesn't recognise it. The fact that it shows the charging icon at times even though it's not charging and doesn't show the charging sign when it's charging confirms that. The screen was accidentally broken once and since I am not from the US it was tough finding someone who could replace it. Official Samsung repair centres would avoid the phone.
How is this method? http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-root/how-to-install-twrp-on-rooted-galaxy-s4-using-goo-manager/ It doesn't seem to require a PC, however the comments on that page seem to suggest it isn't working for many.
Is there any other method that will work without the need of a PC, which may be foolproof?
Thanks a lot.
Get flashify from the play store. Flash the twrp image file in it.

I would advise you to avoid galaxys4root dot com. I'm not familiar with the offerings on that specific site, but I do know that his galaxys2root downloads caused many problems for many people on the AT&T galaxy s2, some of them serious indeed.

Cool thanks I'll give it a try. Does it have the OpenRecoveryScript thing though? Is that what I was missing while using Rashr?

Got it. Will be careful next time. It does look shady-ish but I went through a couple more similar posts including a video by QBKing77 (who is amazing. I followed his video while unlocking the bootloader of my Nexus 4) in which he did the same. GooManager doesn't exist on the Play Store unfortunately and even the apk doesn't work.
