(Downloading software: Please wait until download is complete. Download time may vary depending on PC and internet connection settings.) But these no status bar, it disappeared, and the timer has stopped at 00:00:13..
what am I doing wrong? Im not good at this stuff persay so please answer in layman's terms! Please help me! Please!:crying:
Help. Mine says the same thing after I connected to usb and went thru the steps: I'm stuck at the "Downloading software" panel:
"Please wait until download is complete. Download time may vary depending on PC and internet connection settings."
But the time bar is gray. It has been stuck on 00:00:40, for 5 mins. Is this a problem with hosts or? (I dont remember blocking any lg host sites). Trying to fix LG VOLT.

Okay first of all, let me start by saying this is my first post and I AM a noob, so be patient.
Okay, my problem is that I can't root my Sprint Samsung Intercept. I've tried SuperOneClick, Z4Root, Universal Androot, and some other one. NOTHING has worked. The SuperOneClick somewhat worked, it installed SuperUser but when I downloaded apps that require a root, they said my device isn't rooted.
I'm with Sprint and running 2.2.1.
Pease help because this is driving me crazy!!
i dont know how this stuff works either but my brother has that phone. it could be your usb isn't reading. or rather, your computer isn't recognizing the device. google samsung intercept usb and you'll see a lot of issues. this may not be your problem but its better to tell you just in case. so far for his cell phone, because he wants to tether it to his computer, so far nothing works. not downloading the right drivers. loading without debugging. mounting the sd card. thats one big solution that hasn't worked. i have high hopes for this other fix, to load samsung pc studio. New_PC_Studio_1.4.0.IL2_4.exe is the file. you can google and find it.
this site has some info. if it works and i remember to, ill repost and let you know.
en.kioskea (take out space, insert a dot)net/forum/affich-240949-samsung-sgh-f480-usb-driver-problem
hope this helps. if not then good luck. and heck if anyone else knows why exactly it does this and a real fix other than the whole disable usb debugger issue. then let me know. i even thought about trying to load the sdk for android to see if that would create some sort of connection with the phone and computer. thanks and take care
hope this helps
sdx-developers is the best place for intercept developement
http://forum.sdx-developers.com/int...ructions-on-rooting-spring-samsung-intercept/
follow the first step to get SWUpgrade setup (the rest is instructions for eclaire [pretty sure])
http://forum.sdx-developers.com/int...-2-2-(easy-root-via-swupgrade)-(battery-mod)/
flash this kernal with SWUpgrade and youll be rooted.
http://forum.sdx-developers.com/int...important-features-working!)-(updated-11311)/
i assume youll be wanting a recovery as well i recommend cm01 get the tar and flash it just like the kernal
intercept doesnt have many custom roms but there is tons of mods you can apply to the stock rom
I tried SWUpgrade and I bricked my last phone but it didn't matter because it was already defective.

did you patch SWUpgrade? delete everything in the binary folder except the file you were trying to flash?
ive never had a problem with it. it even saved me from quite a few softbricks in the short time ive had my intercept.
I did everything the videos and forums said to do. When I did that I got a different kernal but I couldn't get any service, my phone would restart every 2-5 minutes, and it would randomly vibrate. Until I got another one. I finally got SuperOneClick to get passed the "waiting for device" stage and I supposedy rooted my phone, when I tried to install apps that required root access they said my device is not rooted.

So I'm trying to return my phone back to stock, went through the whole process list in the one thread with LGFlashTool and all I ever get is it saying waiting for connection when I plug my phone in. Then when I unplug it it says unable to identity.
Also if and when I am able to flash back to stock, will that get rid of twrp too? or what can I do to do that?
Is there another way to unroot and go back to stock recovery?
Reason for all this is I had an issue with my phone and they are sending me a new one, don't want this one to show any signs of being rooted.
Can I use supersu to uninstall root?
Make sure you have the right LG utility and drivers installed... Press volume + while plugging into the pc... It should show download mode... And if you are still having issues look in the program data folder on your pc, and find the LG folder and uninstall the bcapp file... I had a major headache trying to restore my D801 and it will remove Root, and restore it back to stock... hope this helps

following the link below and every time I plug my phone in it then says waiting for connection, I don't get it.

Hello, I have the same issue.
I rooted the phone and unlocked the bootlader, it had cwm 6.0.4.5 installed. the phone took an owa update. the symptoms are as follows:
the phone only boots to the cwm recovery.
I can not get into download mode trying the up or down volume. My pc refuses to install the driver for the d800 even though i can see it as a device in device manager. I have installed lLGMlauncher as well as the LGUnitedMobileDriver.
Thank you for any ideas you may have

Have you gone to device manager, update drivers on your device, let me choose and then pick the ( I cant remember the exact name but it has to do with media, maybe mtp driver. It will then mount you phone
download a Rom along with gaps and flash
This is the basics, as I am away from my PC right now, there are many guides in the general area, I believe.
Sorry I cant be of more help at the moment
easiest would be to go to the dev section and download one of the many kits to get you back on track though.
Sorry. Was traveling and in cebu now. When I get my internet running I will try to check the driver. I still can not get into downliad mode on the phone however. I think it isn't PC dependant
so i went a little trigger happy a few days ago and told my phone it is dec 2014 and go ahead look for update and now the issue is i am trying to get OTA from att and when i go over 2015 the phone says trying to connect to the DM server and downloading the file but nothing really happens. i think i need to reset the you may try again in 864 hours message. i tried googling and searching here but did not find a solution. does any one know how to reset it?
At this point, you may want to sideload the update. You can find the files and instructions here in the general thread.

Google is your friend: http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-LGVS980
Thanks everyone root is successfully c:
Rooted went well... not the reboot
I was successful in rooting then attempted to install TWRP. The phone turned off then turned on with the "android open stomach and !" icon... it shut off a few mins later.
Now, all I get is the buzz when you power it on and a black screen. Im not able to enter the recovery mode using any combination of buttons.
LG Mobile Support Tool nor my computer will even recognize the device. Am I truly bricked beyond repair?
