does anyone know of a combined sip/gsm dialer program for the wizard/wm5? This is to be a feature in 'crossbow' and truphone.com is alledgly working on such a program although they dont have theirs out yet.
I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that exists today that did this.
It would also be nice if you could use the phone speaker instead of 'speakerphone' when making a sip call. While bluetooth is nice, its not that great of an option for me since I use wifi and the two fight for the RF spectrum and range is greatly diminished and a wired headset is sometimes bothersome.
I am currently using the wm5 beta of sjphone, which isnt bad, although it doesnt give me one integrated app for calling people ...
Thanks

Hi,
here is the new Version 2.3
wfg
Starbase64
Won't work on a lot of devices. Can't record directly from the radio.
what devices does this work with? does the answerphone work silently by intercepting the audio stream of the call. I though this couldn't be done.
If it can be done. How!! Could have lots of fun with this feature
Has anybody testet this on a TyTn II ?
this software ask me for the netCF.. where can i get NetCF?
Tried the newest version 3 on Trinity and it does not work. It cannot play the outgoing message. I hope they can get this working on Trinity.
Not workin'
It's not workin' on my Universal WM5, i unzipped the folder, double-clicked on .exe file, nothin' happens.
After some testing I can say its working fine on my Hermes.
Recording quality is pretty good and it's customizable.
The call being receveid and recorded can be heard trough inner or outer speaker of the pda.
The pda microphone is switched off excepting for the first seconds while your message is played back to the caller.
I'm using iSecretary 3.0... you can find it here.

You mean that you can still record with good quality even when not in speakerphone mode, i.e. the software doesn't depend on the microphone picking up the call from the loudspeaker? If that's the case then the developer deserves the Nobel Price! Up until now everyone(?) have thought that this was impossible due to hardware limitations in the Hermes and almost all other PPC phones from HTC.

I downloaded the version 3 as well, installed the cab. I don't know why the f**k, it ain't workin' on my Universal WM5, even though it mentions clearly in this website, that it's compatible with WM5.
Any suggestions ?
P.S what is Compact FrameWork v2 mentioned on that website ? Is that .NET Framework, anyone with the link ?
Agreed..

I truly agree on that, that is why i really wanna try this application. B'cuz, as far as we know, the hardware of WM phones ain't compatible to record sounds from microphone. Same is the case with Call Recorder.
got it running on the herald without issues.....nice app although I still wish I could get the Answering Machine from the stealth....but like someone said before I thought this could not be done with HTC devices so I'm happy anyway
Does it do as I suspect and just put the call audio to the speakerphone and then record that via the microphone?

yeah, absolutely pal. It's like the answerin' machine in symbian phones. The only difference is that, speakerphone is a compulsion(or a limitation) here, b'cuz of hardware incompatibility.
Adieu..
Hrrrm - thought so.... DO NOT WANT.
WOW is work on my HTC Touch!!! I'm using iSecretary 3.0 is wayyy better then the old vers.........
if they make play message easy i will buy right away!!
I couldnt get iSecretary to work on my Kaiser (Tytn II) i mean it would run but when people would call in they could not hear the voice message.
4.4 wont work on my jasjar
Why I Secretary can’t mute the microphone of my xperia x1 and why the caller can’t hear my answer message
How can I fix this using registry or any tweak tool for windows mobile 6.1
thanks
Hi
according to this video from JKontherun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1nlwLJefZE
skype is not working well on the shift, i dont seem to have any problems with it, but i havent used it that much, anybody run in to any problems?
Maybe it is the us version that have problems only
regards,
Allan
I find Skype video conference call performance to be pretty poor (at least with Aero on) using both the GSM and CDMA versions of the Shift. I haven't found an Intel A110 800MHz UMPC yet that handles Skype video calls smoothly under Vista .
Maybe with a little overclocking it will help Skype performance. I use Skype myself so when I get my device I hope we can get the overclocking resolved and see what happens.
Anyone take performance measurements to see what else, if anything, is tagging CPU and RAM when Skype is running? Maybe it will help if Vista itself is optimized a little.
skype is horrible in performances .. i have never been able to have a good video conference with skype .. it is the worst application ever :/

Have you ever tried ICQ's video conf? I tried it a few years back and it was awesome.

i don't remember that there was video conf on ICQ ! I should have tried but I was not a big ICQ user, and I haven't used ICQ for about 4 years.
I'd like Windows Live Call to be working here in Belgium .. because I have found that WinLiveMessenger was better than skype for video conf and audio call but the phone ability is not working here
So i've been doing some experiments and found a peculiarity... first i disabled all the Vista special effects (optimised for performance) and then stopped anything extra from starting up to conserve CPU and memory.
Now when i run Skype 3.6 and make a test call the CPU settles around 80% and if i use the inbuilt mic and speakers everything is fine. Audio quality is actually pretty good.
The problems start when i plug the headset in that came with the shift. Then, no matter how i try, the audio from the mic is choppy and makes a call impossible...
I tried to update the Realtek drivers but it says that they are the latest...
What's going on here? Why would it perform so poorly when i use the inbuilt headset? (i assume the mic's not broken...)
Anyone else had these troubles? Any suggestions? Would other audio drivers work?
Btw, i've also managed to do some pretty acceptable Video calls now too.

so i guess it just sucks under vista. kind of expected since i dont think the tablet edition uses as much resources as vista.
i remove virtual disk of winxp, there about 500M ram free, winxp and the application software under the system runs very fluently, and the LED of HD seldom flash.

nice find. looks like we all should go to xp tablet edition. or maybe ltxda will be able to optimize vista for us.
Hi, sounds excellent to me. Any chance of a "how to" guide for getting to where you are bg4qqz? i.e. Win XP Tablet + removing the virtual disk?
just use USB DVD driver to install winxp tablet, I tried 3 unit of DVD drivers, only one works, others two failed to installation system, just show blue screen with erro withe chats, then reboot.
I don't have xp drivers for WLAN, touch screen, BT and resolution button. others worked well
in my office, i use USB lan adapter, keyboard, and big LCD monitior work with shift to replace desktop, out side, i use shift edge connection for xp, and HTC S1 as the wifi adapter for shift.
Hope you guys get the drivers for xp done soon.

ok thanx for the info. sounds good.
Hi people,
Does anyone know if there is any software out there that would allow us to make VOIP calls and use the front camera of the Atom Life? I just purchased the Life after over 2 years of using my trusty original Atom........I had hoped to be able to use the front camera for SKYPE type calls but it does not seem possible......also must say how crap the 64mb for RAM is, My originasl Atom was great in cpmparison to the Life which seems to leak RAM at every orifice.....
Thanx for any pointers in the VVOIP front.
I managed to find a download from www.octro.com but it is in the Beta phase and the front camera does not work yet. but worth a play if you want this functionality. Also you can try www.imichat.com but that is not to support PPC only Symbian so far but the application looks better than Octro.
Hi,
Can this phone make videocalls? I know it supports HSDPA but i am been unable to make videocalls. Am I missing anything?
no video calls
Hi excuse me for my poor english...
but i can tell to you the jade can t make video call because there no camera on the front of it
IMO, the camera placement at front or back is not the main issue.
I hope someone will create a suitable soft.
Hope SKYPE or any other VOIP PPC software can include and manage this in near future..
