Rooting, trying custom ROMs has been very helpful to me...But one thing I am disappointed is with the custom Kernels... They all got huge tweaking tools, opened many new opportunities to improve the performance of my S6102 , but all those kernels had one big problem..They are all against call waiting.. ..Just wanted to know if there is any custom kernels that supports the call waiting option...

I would really like to see a few more custom kernels made for the GSM USA tablets. I know guys make them and work on them for free and on their own time, but it seems that these kernels have come to a complete stop. I have used MoDaCo custom kernel and was very impressed. I hope to see some more.
Thanks to all who make these ROMS and kernels.
Not a slagging of match about which custom rom is best as devs spend hour's cooking and testing roms for us. Just want people to share what rom they're using and why. It might be useful if we mention the very things that attract us to the various roms. This will help new users to pin point a rom if they prefer the same things. For me what matters apart from anything else is a rom and kernel that is blazing fast and I don't care at all about the battbNot a slagging of match about which custom rom is best. Just want people to share what lollipop custom rom they're using and why. It might be useful if we mention the very things that attract us to the various lollipop roms, for instance am on cataclysmic due to the smart radio mostly which is the main reason am attracted to cataclysmic and code blue kernel, because this combination offers me the best performance. I have previously used franco kernel, but since it hasn't been updated for a while, code blue is the way for me battery. I am still new to s6 edge so cannot share much yet but once I have found a rom and kernel combination that gives me the power and fluidity I require will then share.
Im using the renegade rom because it has some features that my original G925P stock rom doesnt like smart manager. I cant use it on my phone without flashing a rom. And It has funny/cool on/off boot animations.

Hi,
This question is mostly towards the people that have already installed a custom rom on their GS7.
I have a GS7 G935F model and i was wondering why you guys choose to installed custom rom?
I'm a big fan of custom roms. I have used them in the past on my GS3 T999, because T-mobile didn't release any new updates for the phone. I saw the need to use a custom rom to be on the latest and greatest version and i switched from rom the rom to test witch one suited me best. Now with the GS7 i get frequent updates from samsung and don't see the need, but i'm still really really interested in trying one of the custom roms. So what else does a custom bring that will make me want to make that switch?

most of those frequent updates are for security propose.
custom roms enable you to unlimited experience of customization.
changing any system ui element or installing some apps that need root access and works better on custom roms usually.
but some app or mod you install on custom rom have risks to brick your phone and you need to prepare urself to repair it or search a lot to get stable ones.

Changing system ui elements or using root apps/ modules. 3 years ago u needed a custom rom for a new look and extra functionality that wasn't normally possible. Nowadays most of those things are possible. I'm searching for the things i can do now if i choose to install a custom rom. Things i could really use.
Which root apps or modules do u use on your phone?
hello guys. i founded this thread for custom roms; as u see is having some custom roms for this model phone. i couldnt try to see if thats work bcs i dont have the phone yet. so, if u want to flash some of them, try and tell us
In my opinion, these custom roms have to be refined, for example optimizations should be improved and a touch driver should be better. But how is it even good.
AOSP extended is a good rom!

Back in the days custom roms were made to add features that stock didnt have, they improved battery life and speed were clean of bugs that stock rom had.But now what do we have now,a bunch of roms all with the same bugs,we dont even have a working fingerprint sensor or a working AOD display which is very important as this phone don't have notifications light, yeah i know i have to flash nougat bootloader for fingerprint but why would i do that when stock we have oreo for so long and when stock is a lot better than custom roms atm,but instead of fixing bugs lets just create another rom whoch is the same as the others because why not heh,or lets add this and that it will improve performance even more we need a supercomputer who cares about battery, chargers are created for that. The way i see it Custom Roms community lost its way here, thats just my opinion.
