[Q] [How To] share internet from laptop to HD2 (adroid) by USB connection?

hi every body. i've just bought new T-mobile and i tried alot of adroid verson ( matt, SC...) but i cant share internet from my laptop to hd2 by usb connection ( i'm using HTC sync)..
i want to do this..please help me...

I dont know what happen but when ppp went live usb tethering stopped working. Everyone uses wifi tether now.
Your laptop doesnt have wifi?

The conclusion was: if you want to use your laptop's internet on the HD2 (in some kind of reverse tethering), the best is to use a software like VirtualRouter or Connectify to make an Acess Point from your wifi card that your HD2 can easily connect to. I am sorry, but there's not an easy USB solution like you have for Windows Mobile. I hope one day they to it, though.

You shouldnt need any special extra software. It just might be something that doesnt work in the kernal at the moment.
Native android devices can do it aslong as they are rooted.
Lets not say it isnt possible as that makes android sound gimp

My problem is: in my room..wifi is only enough for my lap ( HD2 can connect the wifi but because the wifi signal too weak...) and i'm using internet in my lap by wifi...so i cant using wifi tethering...hic....any solution??

Try WiFi internet sharing in Windows from your laptop.

when i using internet in my lap by wifi , how can i still using my wifi in my lap to share to my android HD2??

[Q] not able to establish a HD2 (via wifi) to PC connection

Hey there,
im currently using the Future Shocks MIUI 1.14 Rom. Did anybody manage to use apps like android manager ? "http://lifehacker.com/5669722/android-manager-wifi-is-a-computer+based-synchronization-and-phone-manager"
i'm not able to use any software that is using wifi to connect to the pc. I don't want to use a usb cable all the time to put files on my HD2. It would be more easy if i would be able to use some wifi explorers.The problem is, that it's not able to get a connection. Tried it at 3 different routers, but it's not workin The integrated wifi sync function in the MIUI data browser is not workin either. Somebody is havin an idea?This is definetely not a rom issue. I'm havin this problem since Android has been released for the HD2. The strange thing is, it was workin with any sense build. I really need a solution fpr this

Have you tried a Bluetooth connection instead? Wonder if that would work for what you need to do. I can sync my laptop to my phone thru Bluetooth.

i just want to use some prorgamm like wifi manager. Bluetooth is waaay to cumbersome

[Q] X8 can be worked as Wifi router or not?

Would like to ask if anyone install and work with the wifi router app successfully in X8 after rooting the official Android 2.1 ROM? I am planning to buy it, see if anyone has tried it before or not. Thanks a lot!

Wifi is pretty weak on X8. Processing signal and forwarding it it's too much for a small phone like this.
(I didn't find any wifi router software)

Barnacle works flawlessly in mine! You'll need it rooted of course.

I guess it's sharing 3g internet over wi-fi, right? I don;t have it and doesn't work.

Barnacle works great... I activated it and all my friends including me enjoyed the internet it was quite fast actually

I had issues getting apps to tether over wifi myself. It wasn't until I flashed Cyanogen 7 and started using the one built in to the mod, that I finally found one that worked. I hear a lot of people have success with barnacle wifi tether too.

I don't quite understand, are you saying you have tried barnacle and it doesn't work? Also have you tried to use the included wifi tether in cm7?

Off cm7 I get error....in barnacle says transmitting. but when scan with separate device no signal found is it some special setting I'm missing?all seems right even says in log successful in placing files in root and says transmiting...?cheers.

Cm 7 refuses to tether get error msg then stays shaded so can't try again so that's as far as I got with cm7 built in tether.got barnacle says all is well root accepted and sucsessfull you are now sharing data connection! But nowt shows up on any device got wkp skip,open network. Nothing......cheers.

Tethering don't work because kernel .29 not support this function. In new version SwiftDroid (and new kernel) Mur4ik add tether... so wait for new version
