[Q] Peel Working on Custom Rom

Hey guys I don't know if its been addressed somewhere else but I can't get peel to work on any custom rom I've installed besides the time when i rooted the tab and had the stock rom. Is there anyway to get the ir blaster to work on a custom rom or any custom jelly bean rom that actually has the ir blaster working?

well it has been covered, and is in the OP of just about EVERY custom ROM, IR BLASTER DOES NOT WORK ON CYANOGEN OR AOKP.
but all is not lost there are a select few custom ROMs based on the STOCK ROM that have working IR blaster, for the 7" model do a search for Romswell (4.0.4 ICS) or Tab2Lite (4.1.1 JB) and I believe there is another. Don't know what your choices are for the 10.1 model (if that is what you have, YOU DIDN'T SPECIFY).

I figured just thought I'd ask. another question you might be able to help me with adfree app doesn't work either says that the app is too old but I download it straight from the market do I don't know why....at the moment I'm using a host file I downloaded online and seems to be working fine but wanted to know why adfree doesn't work,I know there is other apps but I've always used adfree on my phones and I guess I stick to what I know.Lol

yeah its something that happened in like the last 2 weeks, If you look the oldest review on the new one is Dated December 24th 2012 so it couldn't have been that much before then when they made the switch.

[Q] IR Blaster on AOSP ROM

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting the IR blaster to work on a AOSP ROM'S. Has anyone tested Peel Smart Remote on one, or possibly managed to get a WatchOn apk and get that working on AOSP? Having the IR blaster is the only thing keeping me on TouchWiz at the moment since my TV remote's power button is fried, but I would really like to get TouchWiz off.

Download smart remote from the play store. It works very well.

The $10 one that specifies gs4? And that is confirmed to work on AOSP ROMS?

I don't think it will work. Asop roms delete pretty much ALL added features to the phone. Someone would have to get the apps from TW and see if they work on it. I'm not sure which system app you would need. If I knew which system apps I needed I would test it for you. I have the smart remote for g s4 app

Im gonna try some roms out today. I'll let u know what I find with the ir stuff. I had the s3 and the ir is the main reason I upgraded. That and the battery.

@kyhassen: Yeah, that's just about what I thought. I'm sure if someone dug through TW enough that whatever code is needed for it to work would be found. Could even be something as simple as a call method to find the hardware that gets passed along to whatever app the user is using, which could then be ported into an AOSP to keep that working..

Yeah keep us up to date on what you find!

The IR code is proprietary. Meaning it is unlikely the needed code will be released any time soon. Its possible someone may reverse engineer the drivers one day, or the code will "open" so all hope is not lost.

Try to back up the apk from stock through Titanium backup and restore it on your favorite aosp rom and see if it works.

Has anyone tried that?

I just did on slim bean it installs and opens but it won't work as a remote I think aosp doesn't have the s4's or drivers.

Ok, so then it looks like someone needs to either reverse engineer the drivers, or talk Samsung into releasing them.

GS4 on Slim bean and CarbonROM

Hardware support is missing at the kernel level, .apks won't fix it.

It seems to be fully functional on the Google Experience S4 and also CyanogenMod nightlies according to users and reviewers.

Yea, I can confirm it works on the Google Experience S4 rom running on my SPH-L720, tried it out just recently using the WatchON app.

Same here then I tried it on CM 10.1 latest nightly and it didn't work on that but it worked on the Google edition rom.

Note 2 4.3 working with Galaxy Gear

Hi Guys
So I just tested with note 2 with android 4.3 with a Galaxy Gear on the store and it works.

I was able to play music,change watch on the screen saver,install some application,run the music player and make a call.

I downloaded the gear management online,from some website and it worked.

So guys I just got my Galaxy Gear and so far everything seems like working. The only thing missing is some application from the app store.

Where is speaker on that watch
When we talk through it it shud have a speaker for the one listening not like loud speaker

Having everything stock. S4 with 4.2.2 Android, 32LTE international unlocked.
Downloaded Gear Manager directly from Google Play, and everything works with the Gear just fine. From display control to syncing, data transferring, notifications etc... All apps within Gear App Store also available to download. Not too great selection just yet, but my hopes that the XDA community will introduce some new, cool stuff, once the Gear is widely available.

Which 4.3 ROM did you use on the Note 2 that works w galaxy gear. I have paranoid android 3.9 but there are issues. Would really like to get them working.

I have the leaked 4.3 on my Note2, but the only thing that works on the Gear-watch is incomming calls. No watchfaces or apps work.

Download 4.3 and just install a Galaxy Gear APP, and the watch works very fine!!!

Call of Duty Ghosts companion app apk for Tablets

okay so I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Jellybean 4.1.2 and I have found a Samsung s4 apk for the companion app for Call of Duty ghosts. it seems to work flawlessly but it is missing the functionality for squad control that the iPad app has. Does anyone know if there is a tablet app for Android that is comparable to the iPad application and where that apk might be found.? I have looked I have googled and I have had no luck. Thanks for reading.

I went to the evozi apk downloader (google and you will find it) and pulled the apk file from the play store. I did not tell me which device it was for, however everything feature runs well on my tab. The only thing that causes the occasional crash is create-a-solider. The people who made the app said there will be not android tablet version and the app is not intended for 7" devices. How to use evozi: Go to that site, copy and paste the app url from the play store, then download, move to your device, install!

[Q] New S-Note for Note II without rooting

Hi,
I have a friend with a Russian note II and access to Russian Samsung store. He showed me a free new S-Note app upgrade for his note II available on that store. When I am trying to open the same app (by shared link) on my Canadian Samsung App store it says that this product is not available in this store. I also tried to register with different accounts, got the same result.
Is there any way to get new S-Note on my Note II without rooting device? I own a new Note 10.1 2014 and I want to have synchronization.
And rhetoric question, why we don't have new S-Note in Samsung App Store?

Well, I got a link for a working new S-Note downloaded from Samsung Apps. It is little bit suspicious. I checked it with AVG and it looks fine.
