I'm traveling to USA soon and want to buy a data prepaid SIM. Will my Hong Kong S4 (LTE version) work on T-mobile's 1700MHz LTE network? If not, what hazards should I look out for when choosing a prepaid SIM while in USA? (Preferably with voice call and 1GB data for 2 weeks span)
Thanks.

Hi there!
I'm from Portugal, and, next September 20th to October 7th I'm going to travel to the USA (more precisely, NY), and spend a few days in Canada (+/- 5 days). I'm going to use my Samsung Galaxy S (i9000) unlocked.
My question is: Will my Galaxy S work fine with a USA SIM card? If yes, what network do you recommend me to buy during my staying in the USA?
I need to make phone calls there and have Internet access on my mobile. What is the best solution/option?
Thanks in advance! Best regards!
If these specs for your phone bands are correct, 2G Network (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) 3G Network (HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100)
Then either AT&T or T-Mobile prepaid should work with the phone. You will just need to have the correct APNs to use Data.
You will probably need another SIM card in canada though.
AT&T GoPhone Plans
T-Mobile Prepaid
T-Mobile I think has a thing for Canada roaming. It might be worth looking into.
Hello everyone, I just had my Nexus 4 stolen on vacation and needed a new phone. I've always purchased unbranded, unlocked phones to get cheap pre-paid plans from carriers. I'd like to stick with the T-Mobile $30 per month plan here in the States. After looking at the frequencies, I'm not sure if T-Mobile's SIM would get HSPA+ speeds in the GT-i9505. How about LTE using AT&T?
I looked at the frequencies and some of the bands for this phone and the carriers and some aren't listed for this phone hence my confusion. Any help and suggestions are appreciated.
I can't post the link because I'm new but the description is confusing stating " NOT FOR USA LTE, Not for Verizon or Sprint, Works on Tmobile GSM but not 3G."
You could get the Google edition. It has support for ATnT and T-Mobile LTE.

Hey guys a friend of mine wants to buy an S4 from Greece. Will it work properly in Canada with their carriers?
Thanks in advance!
yes, it will work in canada as the base GSM frequecies are the same. the issue is with UMTS frequencies.
If it is international octa version LTE will not work.
If itis an LTE it may not work depending on frequency and what carrier he plans to use.
He wants to use it with rogers.... you know if it will work?
Rogers informed us that they use 850,1900 for 3G HSPA LTE etc...and recently they 2600 MHZ for LTE.
As far as I know, Verizon is using the N900V on their network which requires CDMA band.
I bought a SM-N900W8 from Telus Canada and after having it unlocked, I was unable to have it registered under my Verizon account.
So, not wanting to pay the outragious roaming price that we have from our greedy Canadian Carriers, I purchased an AT&T Pay as you GO sim card.
TaDa!!!!
This is due to the use by Verizon of CDMA band which isn't supported by most Canadian Cellphone that requires at least WCDMA OR LTE/GSM Band.
So, if you're planning to travel the USA and are looking to get an American SIM Card, most likely, verizon will not be an option for you (they're expensive anyway)
AT & T and T - mobile supports the GSM as far as I know.
??
Does anybody know if the Hong Kong s7 edge will work on sprint? It is cdma and lte and I'm aware that the cdma bands aren't all there sprint uses 800mhz and 1900mhz but the hong kong s7 is only 800mhz compatible but I could live with it in exchange for root. The lte matches and the hk version has more bands too. If not than my only choice is to jump ship to another carrier. Any insight is much appreciated.
No, sprint doesn't allow you to bring unlocked devices unless is a nexus or an iPhone. And you need band 26 for lte
