Today I started having a weird issue with my screen. When I open up some apps, the screen stops responding after 10 seconds or so for a few seconds, then works for a few seconds, then stops again, an endless loop. It starts working again for a longer while when I lock and unlock the phone
I think it starts in the middle of the screen, coz if I scroll down in an app, it staggers when my finger is in the middle of the screen.
.
I factory reset the phone and installed a different kernel but the problem persists.
I also noticed that the same thing happens in recovery, which worries me.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Do you have touch control?
If yes, it's a known issue.
It can also be the case of defective unit.

After doing a hard reset on my perfectly-functioning Pro the other day, the screen and buttons have now stopped working. My question is two-fold:
1. What the heck is going on?
The phone worked fine until I did the hard reset. Now, when I do a hard reset, everything appears to work correctly through the screen-alignment. The screen responds properly at that stage. Immediately afterward, the normal Today screen pops up for a split second. After that, the "Treo Customization" screen comes up, and that's where it all goes to hell. After the "Treo Customization" runs its course, the phone says "tap screen to reset." After tapping the screen, the phone responds and resets itself.
After that, a blank today screen appears. The tool bar on top is there and the background is there, but that's it. The screen and buttons are unresponsive except to brighten the screen after it periodically dims. Several other functions continue to work. I can activate wifi via the side button. The top button turns off the screen. Strangely enough, the QWERTY keyboard is completely unresponsive, except that the search button works (alt button and magnifying glass).
Does this sound like a hardware problem? Could it be fixed with a flash and new rom?
2. I tried to flash the phone and install a new rom to see if that would help, but I was unsuccessful for the following reasons: 1) When I run PANTHER_CDMA_HSPL_V101, the bootloader screen appears, but immediately upon that occurring, my sync connection disappears, so I can't proceed through my computer. 2) I can't run the manual flash program (SSPL-Manual-PantherCDMA) because I have no functioning controls on the phone itself.
Any ideas? Is there any way to achieve a flash on an unresponsive phone, or should I start shopping?
Thanks!

Hi all.
I'm facing a strange issue: my screen turns off randomly, everything else works (led, soft buttons,...) and when pressing the lock button i even hear the noise of the phone locking.
Normally when i unlock the phone the screen turns on ok, sometimes i need to repeat 2 times to get screen on, and while using the phone again the screen might turn off in 3 seconds or it might work of for several hours.
I'm attaching a log where a random screen of happens just two-three seconds after a random screen off and i would kindly request any dev to look at it and try to answer if it's a hard or ROM/kernel issue (actually i'm with crdroid rom and chronic kernel).
If it were a hard issue i've bootloader & knox ok for being able to reflash to any official rom but i'm a little scared about having a random screen off while flashing: i've no idea of how i should act if i fall in this situation.
Hope anybody might see the log and give me some light!!
Cheers all!!
My screen cracked about 3 months ago,but my screen still worked fine. But now, it is completely unresponsive. Sometimes, if I go into recovery mode, it'll be responsive. Then when I reboot it, it'll respond for a few minutes before it stops responding again. Also, sometimes it works when I just press the power button, then turn it back on. Just last night, there was ghost touches too... They've stopped but now it's just unresponsive. Any ideas? Thanks!

Get a new phone or replace the screen. My screen is cracked, too. I'm just waiting for a new phone to come out.
So today I just started having this issue out of the blue. Sometimes the touchscreen and the capacitive buttons stop responding and most times when I touch a part of the screen it shows me as touching another part of it.
If I lock the phone then unlock with the power button, it'll be fine for a bit then happen again.
Is this issue known and is there a fix for it?
Hi,
I am after some help please, preferably without reinstalling all over again (root etc).
If i leave my phone to lock after a few minutes of inactivity, the screen stops responding but everything else works:
All hardware buttons work
AOD - works, I can press notifications and the app opens, or hardpress the bottom home button to get to the home screen, but the screen wont respond after.
Fingerprint scanner - works, it bypasses the lock screen but nothing responds
DEX - phone completely responsive via keyboard and mouse
Soft reset - everything works until it has no activity again.
Safe mode - exactly the same, so seems not to be app related.
Just the screen wont respond after passing AOD but phone otherwise functional. Not dropped, no water damage - all good there.
Anyone gone through similar?
Cheers
Good lock 2018 - lock star
Interesting - after spending nearly all day playing about and deciding to post, i remembered there was a lockstar update for me this morning. I disabled the lock screen i built and the phone has been find since. I'll un-install and re-install it, and re-test should someone else have a problem with it and follow up.
Reinstalling LockStar fixed the problem. Case closed.
