[Q] How to unroot my Galaxy Y? - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

I recently have rooted my phone by update.zip method.Next thing I want to do before installing any app or custom ROMs is to make sure I can UNROOT my phone back to original stock in order to return it to service or recover from BRICK...

Just reflash stock rom

Well.. After rooting .. There are no chances that ur phone will brick.. So u dn't need to worry abt it..
Nd most of the custom rom's are already rooted.. So there is no use of unrooting ur device..
Nd even if ur phone bricks.. Odin is always there for u..
** rooting is new for me,
nd i am a noob to root....**

DO some research first

@Jouk1981 Cheers you been a great help thanks
First i would check if you have a non knox bootloader. Uf you dont have knox... dont update to 4.3 but root and flash 4.3 rooted rom without knox.

[Q] Ota not possible because of customized device

Today I found out that there is a new update to my phone that is running stock 4.3 rom.
I have only rooted the phone but I can't update it with ota any more.
I only gets a message when I try to do a ota update. "Your device is customized. Update is not possible"
Is this because I have rooted the phone or is it because I have used clean up software that replace system apps with updated version?
How do I make ota working again without losing all my data? I have used triangle away but that was not enough. My device status is still custom. But my counter is now 0.

You can still update through kies.
First aff all i would like to tell you that you cannot ever update a rooted device from the OTA provided by the manufacturer.
So unroot your device and you can surely update after that.

1. Ur warranty is void (Knox 0x1) for sure.
2. U can't update ur phone via OTA coz u have rooted ur phone.
3. U can use ODIN for flash the latest firmware for ur phone

He is running 4.3 and he rooted it ...... Knox 0x1... or maybe I didnt understand the first post . I mean if he void the warranty is a lil stupid lose the time unrooting, then updating by OTA/KIES and rooting it again... if u can flash it with ODIN, no?

I think you have to correct yourself my friend coz rooting doesnt void the warranty Its the bootloader unlocking which does.
Now for those who want to flash new roms other than stock , must unlock bootloader and ofcourse one hast to root the phone to do so.
But for those who just want to root and wish to run apps like apps to sd, lucky patcher, freedom app etc need not unlock their bootloader . they can regain their warranty just by unrooting the smartphone

Okay so you try it...but even after unrooting(really is there a way to unroot?)when to go to updates in settings...you wont be able to update your device...also in odin mode, warranty will show void..
I have tried it, that's why I'm telling you actually in some of the threads I have observed that bootloader relocking can also be done
One more Way to regain the warranty : Just flash the stock firmware and then you are done???? But ha don't forget to erase all thing I.e wipe data and dalvik cache.
