XPERIA X10 Modding Blog | ROM/Kernel index | How-to's

Hey guys,
since browsing the development forum is kinda messy, I decided to make a blog to simplify things up.
XPERIA X10 Modding
It's currently a WIP. Tell me what you guys think or if I should stop.
I'll try to maintain it to the best of my ability.
The homepage is where I'll post updates and news about the phone/ROMs.

i9000 Awards - make suggestions for the winners!

Hey guys,
just came up with the idea that we could found the 'i9000 Awards'.
It works like that: in polls, we look for the most polite user/the dev with the most innovative ideas/the most used ROM/...
The award would be a nice signature banner or something else.
1. no best ROM/kernel/whatever discussion
2. show respect
3. don't spam the thread
Look at second post now and suggest possible winners. The suggested guys can later be voted in polls.

Here are the topics:
1. most used FroYo ROM
2. most used GB ROM
3. most used ICS ROM
4. most used FroYo kernel
5. most used GB kernel
6. most used ICS kernel
7. dev with the most innovative ideas
8. most polite guy
9. most helpful guy
10. biggest troll
11. most famous dev
Also remember back to the time when you still used FroYo ROMs, and vote for your favorite.
Now you can make suggestions on each prize: who should win?
You can also suggest more topics.

This is sure nice event for sgs thread. Sometimes we need to enjoy and not just read rom/kernel thread, wrong section thread, spam comment and ultra noob comment who just asking without searching

Yes, we can add this . I think we'll need a poll site, as it would take a while with xda polls if we let each poll run for at least a week.

I want to incorporate a special award to the dumbest post. And my suggestion goes to the guy last year that got the sgs2 camera port on his sgs and then said the flash didn't work! A true story... Unreal!

I don't know why you tell us that . So you like the idea?

maybe you should only refer the dev name and not what is he doing (rom/kernel) because people may arguing of or flaming about which rom is the best.

I think we shouldn't mix everything together. But let's see. It'll start when there's enough interest. Then I'll ask Yorzua if he can make some nice signature banners for the winners. After that, you can make suggestions for the users/devs we take into the polls, and then it'll start.

I thought you wouldn't...... There are three stadiums:
1. Collecting topics for awards
2. Making suggestions for the winner
3. Vote for your favorites.
We're currently in the first . To make it fair for the devs/users that already changed device, I think there will be separate polls for GB/FroYo/ICS. I'll post my first ideas tomorrow.

Let's bring Achotjan Back!!

As many of you may know, Achotjan is one of the most talented dev in our X10 community. He made the SEMC Debrand Engine, and developed many wonderful Roms for our device. His SEMC Debrand Engine also provides the the frame work for many other wonderful ROMs made by other Devs, such as some Feralab roms, and DiKeJ for DiXperia 8 'eXtraodinary'.
in Mid August, a guy named Rajiva opened this thread:

While his ROM was totally based on Achotjan's SED, he didn't ask for permission first, and even worse, he was rude and disrespectful after Achotjan pointed it out. Because of him disrespect, Achotjan decided to stop developing for X10 and leave our community.

Obviously, Rajiva is not a dedicated and ethical dev that XDA embrace. In fact, he not only used the SDE without permision, but also included some paid Apps in his ROM. He violated number of XDA rules, and his thread was eventually closed. It has been over a month, Achotjan hasn't looked back. He did say in one of his thread that the X10 community is the one he enjoyed the most.
I want to call on all X10 members to show your support to Achotjan, and ask him to come back to our community. the X10 community miss you, Achotjan! Your ROMs were constantly on the first page of the DEV forum, and thousands of members use your ROM everyday! With Fera coming back to development, and new Dev's like Amin, our X10 community is reviving. Please please, Achotjan, come back...we need you, and we miss you!!

I agree with this!! we need achotjan!!!!!! he was an amazing dev! and for one mistake we lost hime! i really wish that didnt happen! please achotjan comeback man!:good:

Yea, I bet Achotjan could do some great things with AOKP, as AOKP already kicks the **** out of stock CM9.

For me and others who do not know how to cook their own rom would return Achotjan be great!
I add up. Please continue their work.

Sorry for unrelated post.. but i wasent here.. who was TripNRaver ive read htings about hm hahah just curious what happened?

For more as 1year tripnraver (one of best devs in this time)and other great devs was fighting about permissions of roms and who has made the best things....
and with the time many user cooked rom with tripnraver feature or based his rom as source but tripnraver was a personal egoism and was fighting with user,moderator and devs again...he was deleted here but now he is back and active in htc one forum without fighting or something..
But his work was always good!!!

Sounds like a new megaman boss had been born "and he use the omega darkchip and became stronger and after reaching the limit that of the chip could being used in his buster he fused it into a long sword and pierced his heart and was reborn Proto-MegaX.............anyway I don't remember him. He was right to reserve his development to whom he wanted but he handled it the wrong way.

i agree, we really need Achotjan back, his latest ROM was really awesome and it's so close to being perfect, such a shame some other guy had to steal Achotjan's work and claim it as his

Achotjans rom was my favorite when I used my x10. It was everything I wanted in a rom.

It's really offtopic. not that achotjan is a bad developer. he is really good. but tripnraver was one of the best developers for our device. there are many others like z, j that are also really good.

Was deleted huh? What name does he go by now? I want to check the work he has done and is doing. And please don't say his name is bass.

I think that's about all of them and your list is now complete There sure were a lot of great dev's and man those were great times, the good old days. May we never forget! :silly:

Well there are already a few threads on this subject in general section & the problem with these kinds of threads is that you'll miss some names anyway
From 1.6 days to 2.3 & until now there were many developers & contributers in X10 scene, I took a look at your list & saw some important names missing:
Achotjan, Cobrato, Erickwill, Rdannar, aZuZu, Anantshri, MrHassell, Kxhawkings, Hawkysoft, pvyParts, DikeJ,.... also there was this guy who I can't remember his name who always did a great job on collecting & releasing original firmware, and last but not least the great guys who contributed to bootloader cracking/unlocking project like Goroh_kun, The_Laser, Maxfron & .....
also special mention for J.Anderson who was the most fun guy I've ever seen in these forums, hahaha

it's been a long stable relationship, lol
from 1.6 days, just before the official 2.1 update

I doubt that xPlay will get any update because of touchpads compatibility problems and because of licencing (Sony vs SonyEricsson). But if we are lucky, they'll maybe make update for Neo L, wich is still good news for us...

but the issue of the touchpad, not a Synaptics license??? .. I think if Sony would like to support it .. you could easily do that if it comes to licensing, the range "XPERIA" he still belongs to Sony .. but do not release an update. although it would be good, release the libs for the camera in JB, or the source of the touchpad or something .. so it would be easier to get to custom roms a little more stable ..

Translated and read the link of JB. First things first this article is 4-5 months old. Also, I highley doubt $ony would even bother woth our PLAY as ots been ages since sony gave a rats butt about the PLAY

seems like that. we have news since last year of a new sony update..until now nothing..and with xperia 2013 line..seems far and unlikely to have something official new for play..

With the release of 4.3 it might sound logical about a 4.1 update although the specs kill it, so no. Damn Sony, they could more than easily create a 4.2 update with full functional controls but they won't waste time and a money a phone that wasn't so popular.

No 2011 Xperia will be updated to Android 4.1 so you shouldn't expect something like this.

Not to sound like an a$$ but this thread should be closed. We all know its not true. And all its doing is confusing newer xperia play users. Sony will not waste their time and resources to get a fully functioning update for our play.

mate .. the post was a question .. I was wrong to write the title of the post .. I did this post for everyone to bring the news collecting Internet vallan .. to see if the rumors are true of a future upgrade ..
