[Q] Developer Options - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The Developer Options settings are not showing up in my settings screen.
I have done the 'tapping' and if I try tapping again it says "No need, you are already a developer", but the menu item isn't there.
This has worked fine on my nexus 4, but wont work on my nexus 7.
Could this be because I am the second user on the 7??

yes, only the master/administrator user, the first account, will have access to advanced settings like dev settings.

[Q] USB Debugging Mode Option on the s4

Hello guys, I have quick questions. I have been having a lot of problems with Samsung Kies:
picture thumbnails not showing
taking forever to sync music
abruptly disconnects halfway
etc.
And i was reading around, realising that it could be due to the USB debugging mode being switched on. I want to switch it off but cant seem to find it anywhere in the settings menu. I know for previous phones you can do so via settings>applications>usb debuggig mode. However, on the s4, i dont even have the 'settings>applications' option... I only have 'settings>application manager
Help appreciated!

USB debug mode is off by default
You have to go to about phone and click on build prop 7 times to enable developer options

Really odd on this one. Settings > More > About Device and then tap the greyed out "build number" line 7 times. Then go back a screen and you'll see Developer Options as a choice in the "more" menu.

Developer options are on Verizon version

I don't know if it has been noticed but I have developer options on my note 3. It doesn't show under list in settings but I don't know if it's relocated and I can't find it. If that's the fact excuse the post. I downloaded a app that asks for mock locations like a spoof location app and once I opened the app it opened up developer options and it was already on. Can someone tell me where it's located or is it just there always on until you use something that requires a check or unchecked.
"About Phone"
Tap the "Build Number" several times. It'll appear in the list after that.

How to enable developer options on your smartwatch?.

Just like a smartphone, a connected Android watch also has developer options. These are indispensable for who wants to root his watch (yes, this may have a usefulness, but it is another debate). So here's the simple way to access this new menu.
In reality, you do not have to break your head too much. The technique is the same as on all current phones, since Google decided, it is not clear why to hide this menu (perhaps to avoid possible manipulation errors that could disturb the user experience).
01- you must first go into the setting menu of your watch. Under Android Wear, a double tap on the screen should show you a menu. Parameters is the first choice.
02- Then go to the About submenu and tap 7 times the version number. The operating system will then warn you that there are only two then one touch to activate the menu "Options for developers".
03- Once that is done. Return to settings and you will have, at the bottom, this famous menu.
04- Among the useful options you can find 'Leave enabled during charging', 'Bluetooth monitoring connection' and 'ADB debugging'. This option must be activated if you want to inject something into the watch, for example, to root a smartwatch Android Wear.
Note that after activating this new menu, it is possible that a white slider (a small circle) appears constantly under your finger. Do not worry, it's normal!.
You can disable it by going to the developer menu and disabling "Show Selected Items"
It is the only subtlety of the thing. For the rest, your watch will under no circumstances be modified by the addition of this new menu.
If you ever make a return to the default factory configuration, your developer menu will need to be re-enabled unless you use a custom Android Wear ROM.
I think this method is not working in all the version of the smartwatch.
In Android wear 2.0, there is a different method to enable developer mode.

[Q] SM-T377V tapping Build 7x doesn't enable Developer Options

Unlike every other Android device that I've used, I get no result from tapping Build Number 7 (or more) times. Developer Options doesn't appear in the menu, there's no toast, nada.
Build NMF26X.T377VVRU1CRA1
7.1.1
Any ideas how else I could possibly turn on Developer Options?
I was signed into a non-admin "profile." After switching to default profile, the option appears in the Settings menu.
New question: How to designate admin to profiles, or is it limited to the first one with no configuration beyond that?

Cant enable developer on Xtrons Android 8.0 PX5

Running the stock ROM on a XTRONS TE706PL
PX5, Android 8.0.0
MTCE_GS.V2.84_3
(Build date appears to be 20180504)
Pressing on build number does not seem to enable developer options. The message appears saying that I'm now a developer, but the options don't appear anywhere in the settings.
Has anyone else noticed this, or do they hide the developer options in a non-standard location in Settings ?
I encountered this issue when I was trying to enable the Split Screen on my unit. You have to install from Google Play the "Developer Option" app.
Just a question for you, which is the screen size of your unit ? Is the Split-Screen working ?
Thank you
Thanks.
I downloaded a couple of "Developer options" Apps from the Play Store. The first on I tried didnt work, but the second one did. (called "Developer options & Developer Settings".
Which one are U using ?
Re: Split screen.
I just tried it, and it seems to work.
I opened the Play Store app, then pressed and held the "Intent" icon (aka Recent Apps) icon, and it went into split screen (split left right)
Is that what you mean ?
BTW.
Even with the developer options on, I can't seem to connect ADB via WiFi.
I've already tried setting the properties etc and that alone didn't work. I've also tried a ADB over WiFi app, but it needed root, which I don't have (I was attempting to root via ADB but cant connect)
Device will pin OK, via Wifi.
Do you if there is a way to connect as a USB Client, or are all the ports USB hosts.
I Had the same problem.
Solved with this app

When you enable development mode go to settings and use search and just search for development. Don't know they hide it....
Is for you Equalizer/amplifier app working correctly ? I'm trying to adjust front - rear but looks like all channels are L-R rear (all speakers are working) but if I set front all is going quiet, weird...
I had same issue. Connected USB keyboard mouse combo, then in search box type 'developer option' to find. Now some days later, I have no idea what I additionally changed and the developer options menu is now there. I'm 100% sure it was not there initially.
