good day guys, i'm having a big problem with my GS4. When i unlock the phone the screen will appear and the phone is unlocked but the screen will be black after 1-3 seconds.. But i can still use the phone i mean i can hear the sound when i adjust the volume and i even took a screenshot. Is this a software problem or my LCD is faulty? But now i used my phone for 3 straight hours and the problem didn't happen..

Hello, My G1 has just suffered a problem, i was scrolling down a web page and the screen faded out like it had lost power but the backlight was still on, the keys lit up and it still could make the trackball clicking noise when you moved it. I took out the battery and left it for 5 minutes and rebooted my phone and the screen turned on for about 3 seconds and faded out like before but it did boot into android as I heard the notification/startup sound. I think that the screen has burnt out but im not shore so has anybody had this problem before and/or might know how to fix it
Just some more infomation, If the screen dies and I leave it for a few minutes, when I unlock it or slide the screen up, the screen works for a few seconds but then fades. Also the fading looks like the screen lost power or like its losing pixels
From my experience with phone hardware this doesnt look like screen problem, but rather the lamp driver in the motherboard. the only way to narrow down is test the motherboard /screen with another phone.
If this is the case, it might require servicing the backlight driving circuit, which by far requries soldering/desoldering some components in motherboard.

Thanks for the replies, it seems that it has fixed its self as I've been using it for about 5 hours and no problems so far, I'm using it right now to type this, if the problem persists I will try and fix it or just buy a new one
Hello good folks,
I would like a bit of help with sorting my phone out. As of Thursday morning (2 AM or so) my phone has a black screen. The phone switches on, the touchscreen works (I can unlock it, put it to silent, hold the power key and tap the places on screen that would normally switch it off to do just that), the volume keys work, I can receive calls, the back light works.
Everything is as it should be, but I cant see a damn thing!
I should note that this happened once before, about a month ago and a few hours later it was back to normal. Also, I have noticed over the past few months a very small black circle at the top edge of the screen, about half a centimetre in diameter.
Please help!
Kindest regards.
It's the first time I read such an issue, your screen's probably defective.
To eliminate a probable OS issue, does the bootloader appear flawlessly ?
No, nothing appears at all. The screen is completely black at all times!
Your screen is malfunctioning, I don't know what's causing it and I don't know if you can fix it yourself either.
I think you are better off sending it back, if still under warranty.
Otherwise, ... ?
This just happened to me NOW....I'm waiting hopefully it will fix itself as i hear the HD2 heals itself LOL
Hi Guys, I have had my Samsung galaxy S4 for 3 days now and i have noticed a line of pixels going from the top to the bottom on the right side of the screen. Its a perfectly straight line and about 1 pixel wide, It goes all the way down the screen and is always there. It sometimes flickers and if i take the battery out and turn the phone back on disappears but always comes back after a few minutes. I will try and provide a picture if anyone wants to see.
Thanks for any help guys!
I would see.. so can i control mine :\
Sorry what do you mean?
Hello,
Unfortunately I have dropped my Galaxy S4 and have slightly cracked the screen. It is not shattered but the screen won't turn on. Anyways I was deciding to get a replacement digitizer for the phone. The phone boots up and seems to be working however sometimes it makes this siren like noise for about 4 seconds and it also vibrates. This usually happens after I boot it. Is it worth it to replace the screen and also why does it make the weird noise?
Hello,
Few months ago I broke my screen so finally yesterday I made a replacement of it. Producer sent me a new front case with a new screen in it and I simply had to replace all of the components. Everything went fine but now I realized there is like 5 seconds delay before the screen displays or shows anything. I click button to unlock the phone and the screen is still black for about 5 seconds BUT (that's quite interesting) I can still use touch sensor while these 5 seconds which means I can open up an app.
Did i break something inside my phone? Maybe hard reset would help?
