the 6 dollar says out but the 7 says 5 in stock
i just did a refurb exchange but would have rather changed the speaker,,,,,,,,,hope someone gets one from them and reports good because the store says they are dropping like flies, really one guy has changed 3 out. my old one was perfect except for speaker so i am cringing to see some other failure on the new one.
I went into my local verizon wireless and they are giving me a brand new DInc today in exchange for my DInc that has a blown external speaker. The reason they are doing this is because they don't have any warranty replacement phones anywhere in the country for the DInc. They offered me a Droid Eris, and I laughed and told them that, that offer was a slap in the face. Luckily today, they are getting a shipment in of brand new DInc's.
I initially tried globaldirectparts also, but they were out of stock by the time I found the site. After doing some research I found that a Nokia 6300 uses a speaker of the same dimensions, and mounting style. I ordered 2 of them and installed them today and works perfectly! Site I ordered them from is uxsight.com. Would direct link but since I'm new member I can't link yet. Just search "Nokia 6300 speaker". Took 5 days for shipping.
http://www.uxsight.com/product/40622/buzzer-ringer-loud-speaker-repair-part-for-nokia-6300.html
this one?
That's the one.
Something worth noting: In the picture you can see a clear spacer piece on the top of the speaker. When I removed the old speaker that piece remained glued to the inside of the phone and I didn't notice it until I tried to snap the phone back together and it didn't seem to want to snap. Make sure that piece comes out with your old speaker or remove it from the inside case.
Thanks for the info. Global had the parts in stock for 2 data and sold out I did manage to get 5 ordered when I get them I will report back on quality.

sorry it took so long to reply. speakers are great still on the first one. took 5 mins to change out no soldering just slip in slot and go.

my life is now complete. i have a pimped out phone and now i have my speaker working again. ordered two in case it happened again. however not to thrilled about the 8 dollar shipping. only on ebay with a final value fee matters does this tactic work. i own an iphone repair business and LOVE to show how much better my phone is then the iphone, its difficult when any sound that comes out reminds me of throwing a tin can in a aluminum garbage and rolling it down a hill. i guess i could have researched it a tad bit more. however to my credit. the problem happened it was about 3 days after i got the phone, and i think i even made a post on some site asking about it and was told to replace the entire device.

which speakers did you order? on the site it shows 2 models, the one with the 2 gold stripes, and the all silver backing...or it doesnt matter?
Its good to see that apparently every part on the Incredible is made from rare earth metals that can only be manufactured in small quantities...
Just an update for those who may change their own speaker. I ordered the one from e-bay for @1.49 apiecewith free shipping. It took about three weeks to receive the speakers( I ordered two). The quality of this particular speaker is below grade from factory. They sound okay, but definitely are not as good as the oem. Also they do not have the gold bar across the back of the device as pictured. Watched the video and it took all of three minutes to install. Not worh the hassle of Verizon.
Just a quick FYI. Blew my speaker last week and have been looking for a replacement online, while looking i got to thinking about the 2 old BB storms i have, sure enough, same speaker! i haven't opened up my old BB 8830 yet, but the speakers from the storm work great!

Awesome, I have an old BB Storm and blew my speaker on my Inc.
Will give it a try, thanks!
Ok, I’m to the point of exploding. I have received 3 different refurbished Evo's from Sprint (Multiple Device Exchange Department). I kiddd you not, EVERY REPLACEMENT is worst than the last. 1st one had screen separation, second one had blown speaker right out the box, this last one had light gushing from the bottom of the screen. It was BAD! Noticeable during day time use! Anybody else experience this? I don’t think I’m being to demanding or picky. I paid $$$ for my fist evo and settled for these refurbs that are trash. Any suggestions? I got approved by a supervisor to receive a NEW one, when they become available. All the reps Ive spoken with said they have not seen new Evos available since the release date (for their department)

My "Refurb" was actually a new white evo. At first I didn't want the white one, but it has since grown on me. That was the only complaint I have had with the "Refurb". Other than that, hardware wise, it is far nicer than the one I had got on release day. No screen seperation, no light leak, and it is actually louder than my first one. If I were you I would take the complaint to tier 3 in the retentions department. They always seem to find things that nobody else has.
It shouldn't be long. New Evo's have gone out to a lot of people. I've ordered 4 in the last month, and both times (2 at a time) they've taken about a week to arrive.
I just got my new Eco yesterday. They are in stock @ Sprint now!

Yeah, but you are probably talking about buying new evos I think as opposed to getting a new unit from the damages department. If that is the case, he may be waiting a lot longer than a week. The refurb department would probably be one of the last departments to see a new evo. Let's face it, they already have his money.
But who knows maybe sprint customer service is improving.

Pretty sure they come from the same place. Back when I had a Mogul, I went through 3 bad refurbs, and got upgraded to a new Touch Pro. Address it was shipped from was 2216 Outerloop Rd, Louisville, KY. (same address as the Evo's, and every other phone I've recieved from Sprint, business or personal) I don't think the "refurb dept" would have their own stock of new phones, when all they'd have to do is place the order through their computer system to be drawn from the warehouse.
That's great news then. That is way too many problems for them not to hook the op up.
Last Hope
ok, so I have 4th Refurb Evo sitting in my front door via UPS, Im at work and Im feeling pretty good about this one. Maybe 4th time is the charm... cross your fingers fellas.. If not, I'll end up with slit wrists. jk lol
Finally
So I got my new phone and it is wayyyy better than the ones the sent me prior. Still some light leaks but I will live.
Now its like my Ex girl friend, shes a 8, but 9 in a dress. My evo is a 8, 9 with a hard cover..lol
Got a refurb here as well and far happier with it then the brand new one I had. My brand new one had slight screen seperation, nothing I would have noticed without reading the forums but the new "refurb" had 0 screen seperation it also had an Epson screen which is worlds better than the Nova screen my new one had. I have no complaints at all about this refurb, I was actually ecstatic when I saw them side by side as the Nova screen is the only real problem i've had with this phone and the Epson fixed that 100x over the screen actually seems comparable to iPhone 4 screen now only bigger.
Like I said i'm ecstatic and if you still get the same phones I highly recommend trading yours in for a refurb if they are still giving out the ones with Epson screens LOL I think you are far better off with the refurb IME anyway.
Cheers

LOL, your ex was a liar..... her dress size should be smaller than her pant size, unless she wore extremely tight jeans...manufacturer tend to label the dress size 2 sizes smaller than it really is.... but she's your ex so who cares!!!
But back on topic: why are they using 002 as refurbished phones, we all ( me) ditched them because of all the problems!
Sprint rep told me they aren't shipping refurbed Evos yet... wtf.

I think he meant she's an 8 on a scale of 1-10...Anyway, I got a "recertified" Evo from Asurion and it is way better than my Evo I got on day 1.
I went through 2 refurbs. First one came with a smashed screen. I almost couldn't get it returned because they thought I did it. Went all the way up to retentions, and was about to cancel my account, when they magically said to send it back, and they would ship out a new one.
The second one came, with VERY minor Light leakage. It also had some type of issue with I think the battery. The phone would get so hot to the point where I couldn't hold it. It also wouldn't charge when I didn't have it sitting under a fan.
My Third Evo has been a ****ing HULK! NO issues what so ever, and it's been dropped a few times... Not from up high, except for one situation. It's also been subject to EXTREME heat. I'm a fire fighter, and I forgot to take my phone off when I geared up. Ended up going into a fire for search and rescue. I didn't realize it was on me, until it started ringing and I could feel it vibrate. Phone still works like a champ, and just started getting pretty decent battery life (which I thought was pretty bad when I first got the phone) on Fresh 3.2.
From my experience (2 years working at a service and repair sprint store)
for the most part the Refurbs are 100% solid
BUT! I've also had to do like 4-5 exchanges in a row because all the refurbs my technician gave me were trash.
I've also exchanged 4 before and ran out of ones in stock and had to order a replacement haha.
but that only happened maybe 2-3x
(one time i think it was just like a double exchange)
Anyone else having a problem with the white paint chipping off the white EVO?
I noticed around the edges of the rear frame the paint is starting to come off revealing the red plastic underneath. I called several Sprint stores none of them carry the actual white parts for the EVO, One tech suggested I buy the parts on ebay and install them myself, Another tech wanted to charge me $35 just to look at the phone and then decide whether or not to file a warranty claim for the EVO.
Does any of this sound right? I have only been with Sprint for a few months.

I would just pull the back off the phone and repaint it. You could actually paint it any color you want. I'm actually going to paint my otterbox so the wife and I can tell the difference between our phones(we both have EVO's with the same style otterbox.

I called Executive Escalations and explained the situation, had a stylus overnight and as far as I was told the store was reprimanded.
Don't take their BS.

I'm trying to be a nice guy, I don't want to escalate anything if I don't have to, I will if it's necessary. So far it seems the Sprint at the stores are not even prepared for working on the white EVO, They don't even carry the parts....
I've had nothing but good experiences with the sprint repair centres. Took my phone in last week cause the speaker sounded bad, they replaced the whole back half of the phone, free, no questions asked in about 10 minutes, they didn't even mention the fact my phone said "freshhh" when it booted up lol.
I brought my microUSB cable in as well because the end bent and it stopped charging the phone. I figured its my fault, they'll sell me a new one but he just grabbed me a new one and off I went, great experience.
This week my GPS stopped working so back I went, they looked at it and ordered me a new phone, again no questions asked, no charge.
So I would say go to a different sprint store. Everyone complains about Sprints customer service but I've had nothing but good experience.

I don't think it so much a customer service issue, As it's just that they are not
prepared to repair the White EVO. I only have a handful of Sprint Stores in my area, So far everyone I have talked to has not been much help. The last thing I want to is drive even farther to get the same answer.
i have the white evo and the paint chips and its orange. its annoying =(
Ummmm ummmm yea.....i don't know what to tell you...I'm confused by this thread and its meaning for creation. You probably are upset but I would suggest painting it yourself maybe?

Id like to see some finished results of the battery cover and the piece underneath the front benzel painted some different colors before i go doing my own. I own a black evo so I don't even know if painting would even be an option. Still, I'd like to see.
Sprint stores don't have stock for any white parts yet, so there's nothing that can be done. Though, even if there were parts, paint is considered cosmetic damage, and not covered. You also have to remember that stores are JUST getting stock of the white EVOs, for sale in a few days. Many have never even SEEN a white one in person.
That being said, as much as I love the look of the white, I've seen the paint chipping too often to get one. Sad.
haha.. i traded out my white evo for a black one for this reason

Ok guys, after having an HD2 for almost 2 years on T-mobile US, i received my Note today from Handtec UK through FedEx. I got it in 18 hours from when they shipped it! All in all, these folks are excellent. As other people have said, the box's seal was broken from the top side, where there is a sticker that says "do not accept if seal is broken". Obvisouly, this was done for custom reasons, but the phone itself is immaculate. The sticker lamination on the front & back have not been tempered with, also the battery & accessories came sealed & everything. I'm so excited, I haven't even opened the cover & popped the battery in as of yet lol. But initial feelings: awesome build, not out of reach big at all, excellent ergonomics, light weight. My Hd2 looks like a baby in front of it. I haven't even fired up the screen yet, it'll blow the HD2's pale & dull LCD screen out of the water, i'm sure. More updates to come.

How were customs fees? That is what I am most concerned about...
If you dont mind, could you give me the bottom line of what you paid?
I am pricing this out against a GSII. Right now I have them at about equal over two years (higher data plan cost on GSII and the higher initial cost of the note equal out)
Is your back camera inner circle is centered with the outer circles ?

Where are you? Your profile doesn't say. This is critical for determining import tax/customs fees. If you're in the U.S., there aren't any. You buy the phone, they ship it to you, and that's it.

Total cost from Handtec right now is $710 USD shipped, after that the only fee will be the conversion rate to USD by your bank and their foreign transaction fee. Some banks like Capital One don't charge you this fee while most others charge around 3%.
Heading out to get my Note now. Bye bye Desire HD. Local set here comes with the flip cover. Update when I have had my play time with it.

No it is towards the right side of the circle. It is not centered with the outer circle. I believe this is part of their design (perhaps some technical reason too)
I was in the bath Friday night, and my One rang, my little 2 year old daughter ran in the bathroom shouting 'phone daddy phone!' Then... PLOP! Straight in the bath!
Tried drying it out, airing cupboard for 2 days... nothing. Contacted my insurance company monday (today)... bang. None in stock! Wont get this handset until the 27/06/2013... GUTTED! Unfortunately i need a phone for Business. . . so they have supplied me with a not as good iPhone 5 till then! Grrrr.....
So... for the next month im Oneless! :'(
Hmm... might go buy one sim Free next month though.. we'll have to wait and see and sell the iPhone 5!

Could be worse. My rugrat dropped my DHD down the toilet (after he'd fully emptied himself.) A pound of dry rice and 3 hours on a warm radiator and it started up 1st time. Granted, battery was pulled so that might of helped.

Indeed, an iPhone 5 (focus on the 5) is not bad at all. In the Netherlands you often get a crappy budget phone as a replacement.
Sorry for you dobknobby though. Poor girl didn't know what she did. I can imagine it's hard not to get mad in such a situation, even if it's your own 2 year old girl who did it
That sucks, if i had a kid id head straight for a case that's nigh on bombproof, something like an otterbox armor case.
Least it's insured, so you'll get it back soon enough.
Try putting it in a zip lock bag full of rice for a few days...do not try to power the device on. I've got 6 kids so a few of my phone's have taken a dip. Rice soaks up moisture. Hope this helps

It wont work for LTE no.
Ahh... ill just stick to a 32gb one then.
I saw lot of people reviving their iphones after dropping them in the toilets, I wonder why you couldn't with the One.
Can you try again? Open the sim tray and take it off from the phone, try using the hairdryer directly on the slight openings there or even from the USB slot for 10-15 mins.
Try this 2-3 times.
I had some perfume juice leaking on the touch screen of my old pioneer car audio,it took 6 months to dry completely and rework again, but perfume juice is more difficult to dry and I didn't use a hair dryer
I guess i maybe didnt catch it quick enough, i still have the handset, and now it still dont want to turn on, i plug into charge and no led lights show up, nothing... tried using a hairdryer, rice, even been sat in the airing cupboard for about 2 weeks. Really bizarre...
However, iPhone 5 finally going today (Been Sold) and EE have kindly given me a second line, and i get my new One delivered today. Cant Wait! I felt naked without it!!
***UPDATE***
Arghhhh!!!!!!
Received my new One this afternoon at about 1330 GMT from courier! I was like a kid in a Candy shop, bearing in mind this is my third One too
To then opening up the box, HUGE gap at the top, i mean literally HUGE. About 3mm in size i can fit my credit card in the slot.
Another huge gap at the bottom, about 2 mm in size..
and a HUGE 2cm scratch down the side shiny part of the aluminum....
So i call EE... extremelly not happy, i have a courier coming tomorrow with 2x handsets to swap one over with mine. They will be both sealed in boxes, and i get to choose (Sending 2 tells me the lady on the phone was well aware of these build qualities)... but to my surprise, both handsets will be from different warehouse to maximise the possibility of being different batches, One from Orange telesales (Which will be a locked handset) one from Central Distribution center in Newcastle (Will be a Generic unlocked HTC Handset), i asked if they could check one for me before sending it out. No can do, the lady stated they have to be sealed because of them running on android any kind of software could be put on the phones which is a security breach. . .
So... ill keep you all posted to as what the quality is like. . . delivery in between 9am and 1pm.
Wish me luck.
Well at least they are taking your satisfaction seriously, that's nice to see.
I wish you good luck man!
