I just read that if you have root access and edit the features.xml file, you can add whatever apps you like to the multiwindow tab, so I could use tapatalk with youtube for example.
Thing is, it's supposed to be in the system/csc folder, but on the s4 it isn't. Does anyone know where it is on these phones?
You can use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bjbinc.multiwindowmanager it will set everything for you. By the way features.xml in S4 are in the others.xml file.
Great, thanks for that!
If you have MDN or ME2 Firmware, have a look at this.

For an example In Hyper Ion, Creeds rom, There are some additional Rom infos (Like Developer, Code Name etc..) and well, those details are not found in build.prop.
So how do they do it? Is it xml editing? How can I do it?
It's on the setting.apk, replace it with the stock will remove the info of ROM Maker or etc

As far as i think, it is XML editing. Decompile the settings.apk using apktool (if you don't know how to, then check my sig). In res/layouts, one of the xmls will be the screen for that 'about phone'. There you'll be able to add more TextViews, i.e. more texts to display.

Search in google for Notepad++. It's a great software which makes XML editing a breeze.

If you're rooted, use root explorer and go to system/csc and delete languages.xml and reboot!

Tested русский you will need root for this. I've tried doing this unrooted but it never works. Hope that helps.

Is there a way to change the language to other than the few selections you have without root ? Language enabler works only with root ...
And since my phone was in for waranty repairs, of course the bastards installed the new update so i cant root

did anybody know how to disable Sub Symbols on Stock Samsung keyboard.
I'm on Omega v4
I'm on a stock rom but enabled it manually. For me it's in system / csc / others.xml.
You should see a line similar to this:
<CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>true</CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>
<CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>de;en_US;en_GB</CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>
You will need to use root explorer or similar. Find and delete it.

Worked perfect for me....
Install keyboard like normal apk & themes apk files too..
Then copy paste lines given on thread to buildprop. Also put AndroidEmoji.ttf to System/fonts (backup old one), set permission 644. Reboot!!
Beautiful LG G2 Keyboard on Samsung Galaxy S4.

How do i set the permission 644?
I did all the things but still no emoji.
I get the keyboard but can't se the emoji. blank spaces... :silly:
Edit: got root browser and changed the settings to 644. But no Emoji.
Cant see them on the phone but when i send them people can see them.
I have a solution for this. But I can't post it... odd!
My girlfriend's got an unrooted S4. Is there any possibility for her to get a newer LG Keyboard without rooting her device?
Thanks in advance

Sorry mate… don’t think so… you see, you have to get access to the system folder i order to copy and alter the files. But if you figure out a way to do that without root… then good for you mate. Good luck… :good:
i have a question for you guys.
i have a N9005 with stock latest rom which is NE4. i am rooted. i tooked secmms.apk and secmms.odex from /system/priv-app and actually decompiled it using apktool for Android itself. i edited the mmsconfig.smali file for certain mods.
the question now is, how do i actually recompile it back? i have secmms_src and secmms_odex folders. how do i recompile it back to odex format for my odex stock rom?
thanks with regards.

Ya but how to make it to odex?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
This may help you but make a back up first.
Find a deodex SecMms.apk and modify it as you need.
Then rename it to Modded_SecMms.apk and put it in system\priv-app or wherever it belongs to, do not remove original one (SecMms.apk, SecMms.odex)
Flash Universal Odex Script
Then odex your file see how to do it in that thread
Remove original non-modded one from system folder with its correcsponding odex file
Rename your modded file to its original pack name SecMms.apk (you shoud find both Modded_SecMms.apk and Modded_SecMms.odex)
Check permission to rw,r,r
Reboot
I guess this is the only possible way.

Try this app you can Oxed the SecMms.apk (and more system apps)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SystemCleanup.Inteks.org
(After its done you may need to set the permission on the SecMms.odex manually.)
