If you're rooted, use root explorer and go to system/csc and delete languages.xml and reboot!

Tested русский you will need root for this. I've tried doing this unrooted but it never works. Hope that helps.

Is there a way to change the language to other than the few selections you have without root ? Language enabler works only with root ...
And since my phone was in for waranty repairs, of course the bastards installed the new update so i cant root

I deleted the file but still have the same stock languages. Any ideas?

Try play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale

You don't have to root.
It depends on the ROM you are running.
That ROM looks like it is one for the Hong Kong / Indonesia region...
Find a UBUAMDK ROM
It is not as updated as the AME1 ROM but it will have the language you seek.
Typically always look for roms close to your region.
ROMS with the UBU code seems to be closes to what you need.
One way of doing it would be with rooting, and unlocking all the languages, etc. But if I'm not mistaken, you can also do it by flashing a stock ROM intended for a Spanish speaking country or even any stock ROM that has Spanish language option. For example I use the ROM for UAE (I9500XXUAMDK) and within the language options there are two Spanish options; Espanol (Espana) & Espanol (Estdos Unidos). Of course you should check that the ROM is for your exact model whether it's GT-I9500 or GT-I9505.

What file explorer are you using, and have you fixed permissions?
Have you mounted it to "Write" ?

I use solid explorer and I already do the fixed permission on my recovery. Is there something else that I can do the fixed permission other than recovery?

Go to the market and get "FX File Explorer" +Root add-on.
Navigate to the system/app folder in root mode.

Worked perfect for me....
Install keyboard like normal apk & themes apk files too..
Then copy paste lines given on thread to buildprop. Also put AndroidEmoji.ttf to System/fonts (backup old one), set permission 644. Reboot!!

Sorry mate… don’t think so… you see, you have to get access to the system folder i order to copy and alter the files. But if you figure out a way to do that without root… then good for you mate. Good luck… :good:

Ola! Posso te ajudar! If you're rooted, use root explorer. Go to system/CSC and delete languages.XML. restart and a bunch of languages will be available. Most market apps don't work for some reason. Hope that helps.

You have to change the mode to mount R/W under root explorer. I believe the option is on the top on your first screenshot.

Are you rooted?
If yes, then placing the apk in /system/app MIGHT do it.
It's been a while since I've had to do this, so my memory is a bit hazy on if that's all you have to do.

If you do this, best back up the original first.
Also you MUST set the permissions to 644

I've done that and still no luck.
Even if I put the original back where it needs to be I'm still missing the original Samsun keyboard.
Feel like I'm missing a step or doing something wrong.
I'm using es file explorer, Root explorer enabled and changed permissions after copying to system/apps.
Any other advice, am I missing a step?

Same hear, tried everything I can think of. It must be dependent on something from the new Firmware that's not in older ones.
Put your original Samsung keyboard back and restart and you will have the original one back.
