Navigation bar taller/larger? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know there are ROM's that allow for a smaller nav bar but I want the opposite, a taller nav bar since the bottom few rows of pixels on my screen do not respond to touch so I cannot activate the soft buttons .... been using pie as a work around but its a pain to use when I'm driving....So any ROM's that allow to customize the nav bar taller?

My carrier sucks and I refuse their conditions.
The phone is only 29 days old and my carrier told me after 14 days they will not do an over the counter exchange, that I have to give them an $80 deposit then they will ship it out to get repaired while I wait for two weeks with their loaner phone...a used Nexus S that I have to pay $10 for non-refundable.
I tried going through RMA with LG and they told me that they have a new policy in Canada for their handsets purchased from carriers that RMA's must be done through the carrier.
Anyway I am currently filing complaints with consumer protections, bbb etc...So in the meantime wanted a ROM that allows me to enlarge the soft key area so that I can use them.

Luckily, i am not selling their software, i am giving it away free with my Ameo !!, this way i stay within the terms and conditions of their software agreement, and if they dont even permit this, i am loaning out the software indefinitely to the lucky purchaser of my ameo!, either way, the software goes with the hardware !!

Hi Black rider.
I am replacing it with a Tomtom 930T (has to be a T model) for my wife as i dont need sat nav any more, my new car has it built in, and she thinks the ameo is too complicated to use even though its as good as the 930T at sat nav and then does loads more on top !
so cash sale only please unless anyone wants to offer a 930T for trade ?
Hi again
ive got a brand new Tytn II as i mentioned before im tryin to swap it for a 930T hopefully will be done this week otherwise ill stick it on ebay and give u the cash mate
Thanks

droid x locked, please help

I Bought a droid x that I'm stuck with no way to contact the seller or anything and its blacklisted, is there any way to bypass that to use it? I'm able to bypass the "touch here to begin" screen and root the phone. Is there anything else I can do?
51 reviews and nothing? sheesh.

Just a term I hear for lost/stolen or phones with big unpaid bills.

I've sold many phones. I always supply ESN before the transaction closes so the buyer can verify. I suggest never buying a phone where the seller won't let you check ESN.

yes, and thats what seller ratings are for, although I don't think craigslist has em, I don't trust people enough to buy electronics from craigslist anyway...

bypass the pesky activation screen simply tap the top left corner, top right corner, bottom right corner, and bottom left corner of the screen consecutively and it will bring you to the home screen.
From what it seems to me, he is past getting in to the phone, just cant activate it since its blacklisted. He wants it activated to use as a phone rather than a nifty paperweight/mp3 player. And yeah seems you are going to have to take it to another carrier.
So far have text and web and IM and everything working except phone calls.
Hope you read this in time but hear me out listen brick the phone completely and claim it on the one year warranty and whatever place you send it to they will refurbish the phone meaning they have to install a new chipset which intern will change the esn (meaning clean esn) you can do this for free since it has that warranty but make sure it doesn't have water damage. I did this with a bad esn evo, Eris and incredible trust me it works hell research it if you must but it works and its going to take a min for you to get it back but its worth not having a phone limited to BS carriers ie metro and cricket.

I tried remote install Plan B......but just my luck my battery was dead :-/
if you still have the box or you know the imei, better call your network provider / customer service. you can have the phone locked / blocked from ever being used. tke note that the network provider may not necessarily be the one to lock your phone. at least that's how it is here in melbourne. i had to call a different number / customer service to request for my imei to be blocked when i lost my touch pro 2. cheers

They don't block IMEI numbers in the US.
As sort of "bait".....I have left the phone on and I have been monitoring the usage. The phone has not been used at all.
My general thinking was I wanted someone to find the phone and turn it on, so Plan B could install and push me the location.
I honestly believe....if it has/had been found....because it was dead and cracked, the person probably threw it away thinking it had been run over by car or something and "doesn't work" by the appearance

Well...I just ordered an Inspire 4G.....Not exactly the Incredible S I wanted, I still want it....but probably not wise since a billion phones will be coming out, with dual core and all that
But I really don't care about the hype of the new phones that will be coming out soon.....my HD2 was good enough for me
The phone is STILL yet to be used.....so either thrown away or left in a car under seat or something. IDK IDK IDK
So I guess im off to learning a new phone..:-/..all the quirks, installation steps, roms, etc. for the Inspire
Doesn't matter, as long as it's something you want. Dual core isn't everyone's cup of tea anyways. Plus they're hell of expensive, enough to buy you a capable/good lappy. Have fun with your new phone. :3

Bought a Verizon PrePaid Moto G Today...

So let me tell you how this went down...
First, I go to a local Best Buy Mobile store to check out the Moto G for my girlfriend. They tell me they can't sell me one in the store until Jan. 9th, but if I purchase one online and choose to pickup in the store, I could get one. So I stand in the store, buy the phone on my GS4, and pick it up at the counter. Weird process, but whatever.
So I bought the phone. The lady at the register assured me that I would be able to use this on her line (which is a contract line). Go to activate it, and find out that it can't be done until the 9th. That's cool, no problem. Once I get home, I find out that the phone will only work on a prepaid line and BestBuy did not inform me of this. I go back up to the store to return it, but they won't take it back because it's opened. Oh, I forgot to mention, the lady at the damn counter was the one who opened it!
So, is there ANY way that I could get this to activate on a contract line without having it activated on a prepaid line for 6 months, or am I screwed? If not, is there a good way to bypass the activation and use it solely as a wifi "tablet" (for my girlfriend's kid)?
If I actually am screwed, anyone want this thing for $80 shipped in the continental US?
That's a lie about it being opened. I have returned prepaid phone there on several occasions. There is something either shady about your story or the person working but something isn't adding up here.

Cool story, brah. Nonetheless, I guess you missed the fact that he bought this for his girlfriend who is under contract with Verizon which is a CDMA carrier. You can't buy a GSM phone and use it on a CDMA carrier. The only time one would need a SIM card slot is if you're using it on Sprint or Verizon's LTE network and since this phone doesn't have LTE....
Thanks for the responses guys! I'll try the unlock method later tonight when I have the phone in hand again (girlfriend still has it at the moment).
As for the return policy, I agree with y'all. I probably should be able to take it back, but the lady at the counter seemed like she might have been new or something. I actually tried to take it back about 4 hours later, so way within the 14 day window mentioned earlier.
On a side note, I won't be using the phone either way as I just went ahead and bought a like-new GS3 from a friend that she is going to use (wish I would have known he was selling it PRIOR to all this). If I can use it as a tablet, I'll just let her kid have it, but if not, I'll try and take it back again.
Will keep everyone posted!
keep us posted guy, I might take you up on that offer.
Good luck.

Correct. After being told they didn't have any at my local store I was happy to inform them that they had 8 of them in stock which was very easy to find out online, and a little arguing about whether or not they could sell it yet, as well as a call to their Verizon rep, I finally was able to procure a Moto G without activating it. Hoping to find out this will work immediately with PagePlus.
Good news everyone, I was able to bypass the activation screen and unlock the phone for "tablet" use (using the methods mentioned in this thread). After playing with the phone for a little while, I gotta say, I actually like the thing! While we won't be using this as a phone, I will probably keep it to use as a MP3 player for the house.
I played around with the features a little and the only real disappointment that I saw was the camera. Maybe I'm use to the 13MP on the GS4, but the picture quality just didn't seem very good. Better than my girlfriend's old iPhone 4, but lacking nonetheless.

Let me know how that works out. I tried and the pageplus rep said that the phone was unable to work, and it needed to be 'unlocked.' I wonder if I just got someone who didn't know what to do.
I returned my Verizon prepaid moto g today to BB. I did not have any issues. They did check to see if it had been activated. They turned the phone on and seeing the activate wizard appear turned it off. They only thing I didn't get back was the $0.70 for a 911 fee.

FCC and Verizon

Sent off a complaint to the FCC in regard to non-vzw nexus 6 on the vzw network. Basically, I said that the CFR states that they cant prevent us from using services the way there were intended to be just becaue we are using a non-vzw device. I spoke with someone at the FCC and they said I should file the complaint becuase not allowing customers to change their account details violates the C-block CFR.
Lets see where this goes.....
It is seeming more and more that Verizon doesn't want customers. I am about to leave them but I have unlimited grandfather data so I can't.

Google and Motorola Should Be Held Accountable
Read the following article for background:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...te-one-that-wasnt-purchased-from-the-carrier/
Google and Motorola should team up and take Verizon to court over this issue. Probably won't happen, they all share the same bed.
Google and Motorola should at the very least post a warning for Nexus 6 buyers about the problems with Verizon service and non-branded Verizon devices.
My feeling is that the financial folks at Verizon are making these type of poor decisions. Verizon is just too big to be held accountable for their behavior.
Rant off ....
What's the issue? Motorola phones work on and off Vzw network, and plan changes have nothing to do with your phone. Been with VZW for 10 yrs and never had issues. I have a Mot bought Nexus 6 and works beautifully. What issues are people seeing?
