I've noticed that the volume buttons don't control the volume right when turning off the single volume control settings in the sound tab. I like this, so the RING volume isn't necesarilly the same as the SYSTEM volume. Switching to the two separate volume levels gives unwanted behaviour in sound level as well as functionality of the volume control buttons, using the Audio tab or during a call. To be more precise:
- when listening to an mp3 on the audio tab, and the screen is off, I can press the vol up/down button, but nothing really happens unless I keep pressing down untill I hit 'silent' mode - and voila presto, the music is gone. Hit vol up once, and it is back at the sound level is was, regardless of how many times I press vol up. If I turn the screen back on, vol up/down work as they should (although I have better control on the screen itself);
- when answering or making a call, volume is at max loudness, regardless of the settings I chose beforehand. Pressing vol down shows it at min loudness on the screen, and therefor doesn't do anything - untill I touch the screen to adjust the volume, and then it suddenly is possible to use a lower setting. Weird and annoying too.
So I'm back to the single volume control untill HTC fixes this.
I bought the nexus 4 recently and I've been in love with it ever since.
But.
When I play music, the on screen volume controls don't work. The physical keys on the side work fine.
But the on screen volume control defect vanishes when I'm on a call. When im on a call, I can vary the volume on the screen itself.
However, in the settings, I can change the master volume and that's it.
What can I do to make the on screen volume controls work again?
I just got a Razr M set up and running as my daily driver, running the excellent BlissPop 3.2. I find that the volume buttons on this phone in a Trident case are quite easy to press, so much of the time when I'm pulling the phone out of my pocket, I hit the volume buttons.
I'm fairly sure that my old DroidX running CM11 disabled the volume keys while the screen is off, though I may check that to be sure. They certainly were not as easy to push.
After quite a bit of searching, I can't find how to disable the volume keys while the screen is off, whether or not the phone is locked. There is a setting to disable the volume keys all the time, but that's not an option. I also found a setting to make the volume keys change tracks while music is playing, but that's no good either.
In fact, if the screen is off but the phone isn't locked, I can press volume up or down, and when I turn the screen on with the power button, the volume pop-up is there.
The only button that should be active while the screen is off is the power button! Does anyone know how to make it work this way?
More info: I just determined that if the phone is locked and the screen is off, the volume keys do nothing. That's good, but I don't want to lock my phone every time I turn the screen off, as it becomes annoying to have to enter the PIN all the time.
This "problem" was solved in the 20150506 version. I upgraded over the weekend and discovered that the volume keys work as I wish now.
I have an S5 with an official Samsung case and the volume keeps going to zero so i miss calls and texts. At first i though that i was catching the volume keys as i took the phone out of my pocket. I tried altering the volume by pressing the volume keys through the case but it did not work. In fact when you shut the flap of the case it closes the screen of the phone so the volume keys do not work.
I have checked the setting and i can't see anything that would cause this.
Anyone have any ideas??
Hi. I've just got a new G6. I'm liking it very much. I don't like, however, the little tune that plays when the phone is turned on and off. Is it possible to turn the sound off?
Noup...
Powered by LG G6
Unlock the phone, press Volume Up or Volume Down button, expand the volume menu, set the Touch feedback & system slider to mininum. Done- power on/ off tone is gone.
Thanks!
