FoxFi does not work on the S4, at least not on the unrooted stock ROMs. PDANet and FoxFi are now together, and PDANet does work on my S4, both in wired and bluetooth mode.

WiFi Tethering From Galaxy S3

Have had enough of Bluetooth tethering so have decided to tether from my phone and the connection is much better, although the wireless tether app on my S3 doesn't work too good whereas the tethering hotspot appears to work fine with WiFi manager on my Nexus 7, im wondering what apps people are using for tethering, etc?
Used to swear by Barnacle but it's now useless and doesn't work at all.
Running Liquid Smooth ROM on both Tablet and Phone

I couldnt get foxfi or barnacle tether to work, i just used the portable hotspot in the stock samsung firmware and it worked fine for the exact same thing.
Im currently connected to Wi-Fi from my Evo 4G LTE using Fox-Fi.
Is weird how I can barely load pages on my 3G connection using my phone but have no problems connecting to pages through tether on my Nexus.

Cheers lads, anyone any more tips?

CleanRom 5.0 on sgs3....built in WiFi tether. It gets bypassed thanks to the ROM. Works great.

Interesting, i use Liquid Smooth ROM and i am going to request this in the next update, cheers

For Blutooth tether this is what i use.
Sprint GS3:
foxfi
N7
PDAnet for tablets
Setup bt tether on foxi then use PDAnet. So far this works for me on browsing sites. Some apps will fail though since they actually check the wifi status of the tablet. Since you will be using bt for internet connection, it will fail. I hope this helps.

Unrestricted Tethering

So is the only way to tether without restriction right now to use that toggle switch app? That somehow bypasses the check Verizon does?

It does the check, but when it tells you NO, just press the home button. Enjoy the WiFis
I couldnt get superbeam to work using the tethering toggle. I wanted to transfer files from asus tablet to note3 and the connection seemed solid but when I hit transfer I got the verizon data message again and again. Maybe Iam making things too hard using superbeam but I was able to connect the two devices.

Which app is this?
Is my assumption that the goal is "tethering without Verizon noticing and trying to change your plan" a correct assumption?

That's right. But I don't know the app name. I just heard about this working for some reason.

Bluetooth tethering for gear

Has anyone found a workaround to this? Someone from the T-Mobile community said they had to use an international rom and fix their apn settings

TV commercial shows stock Multiwindow

Did I see a Samsung commercial showing the S4 with Multiwindow feature?
That seems strange, isn't that available only after rooting?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
*Facepalm* nope if you look in your toggles you will see that theres one for multiwindow
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Actually I just now remember the difference. If you root and install the X pose framework......doesn't that allow more programs to be able to use the Multiwindow?

You are using Verizon HotSpot software but do not have a subscription to WiFi tethering via Verizon. The Verizon HotSpot software always first checks Verizon's database to see if you are allowed to use the hotspot.
You will need tethering software from your carrier, or you will need something like FoxFi or WiFi tether apps.
