What is this? This just started today and my battery life has decreased substantially. I downloaded only two apps which were "airdroid" and "reality piano" both were deleted but it is still running.

Have you tried stopping the process and see what happens? It would seem that maybe something you downloaded or installed is either being polled or is polling using the daemon process. Obviously related to the camera or camera driver.
Or maybe you just left your stock camera app running. Check and see what applications you have running and see if any of them are related to the camera.
It stopped after an hour but now my phone is getting pretty hot
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
have you rebooted to see if the process restarts?
Yea I dont think its on anymore because the time has said 59 mins for a while
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
I'm going to throw a wild guess out there but you downloaded airdroid and reality piano both of which actively use the camera for whatever task they may have so its most likely one of the two.
Reboot your phone, start one of the apps and see if the process starts?
If its reality piano then you're sort of SOL because its main purpose is using the camera
If its airdroid try and disable the process, might stop a few features but the rest should be ok.

The fix only applies to Nexus devices when they get the 4.4.3 update. Each phone manufacturer (or whoever is responsible for updating their firmware) must implement a fix for the bug on their own. Google updates the Nexus devices directly (or supposedly). So Samsung would have to include a fix for specific Samsung phones.

Started to have some problems with my phone today. WiFi wasn't connecting so I decided to reboot. Still wouldn't work, ran a fix permissions and still nothing. Decided to reboot a second time and got the safe mode screen.
After fixing permissions in cwm phone started up fine, but my APN settings were changed, WiFi still didn't work and all my icons had been moved or deleted.
Be careful out there guys.

Did you download a shady app or anything?

He may have downloaded some BS. Many times when hearing about some malwear or something it could have been avoided if the person wasn't trying to download some pirated app.
Better get it vaccinated.

Just because its in the Store doesnt mean its not shady. Its been brought to attention a few times of very shady apps (mostly sexy picture apps but not always) putting malware on Android phones.
Do people have this kind of issue with the phone? I can take screenshots so I assume its not a screen problem.
Its running stock 4.2, rooted and unlocked.

no one? is it my machine?...
Try reflashing the stock image. If that doesn't work then I'd assume it's an issue with your hardware.

What's that jelly bean notification? Also I thinks that might be software BC I had a old phone that would do that and I reflashed and it worked.

You sure that's a screen shot from the stock because the app tray should have 5 columns of apps not 4

It looks like the OP is using Apex Launcher. I don't use it myself but I can only assume that would be the reason.
Currently using Apex launcher but it occurs in stock as well.
I called google and they said it could be related to auto brightness 'adjusting' to the light. imho I think its a faulty light sensor bugging out so I requested for RMA.
Thread moved. Questions belong here in Q&A.
Thanks

Hello,
I had the same issue. I think that's software bug beacuse it persist on screen captures.
I don't want to make a RMA.

Hi, I have the same issue on my Xiaomi mi2 phone which has has the same processor as the nexus 4.
did you reach to a conclusion regarding this?
Thanks.
I have the same problem with my Nexus 4. You can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTyYqu8buvk . I think that more than one have this problem and it could be related with CPU or GPU drivers because the Xiaomi Mi2 (same CPU/GPU) have the same issue.
Hey, so I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778012 and I thought it was such a shame the project was closed down. I think it would be great if someone could attempt this again! This way in theory, A person could connect their android tablet or phone to a tv or speaker system, and from another android device use there google music que to stream to that device. It woul also give a great way to bring life to old devices.
I'm going to start a bounty by saying I'll add $15
To get the apk's, just unzip the files from this factory image http://d-h.st/yeo
I'm also going to attempt, while working on my nexus 7, any suggestions would be great since I am far from a developer!
UPDATE 1 March 3/2013 Okay, for anyone else who would like to help out, I just found this Nexus Q Rom http://d-h.st/JCy It is based on IAN67K and deodexed, and has thing slike nova in it. The main use for it would be that it is a deodexed rom. Hope it helps someone! If you want to read about the rom you can check it out here http://rootzwiki.com/topic/35778-rom-nexus-quantum-singularity-project-phase-1-4-v102/
So another update, I've atttatched HubBroker.apk that can be installed as a normal apk, and will give your device the nexus Q setup screen. Don't open after install, hit the home button and then select broker.

Be my guest, I haven't made much progress! And it would be awesome if you could post any progress you make and problems you run into and then maybe someone else will know a solution so it can be a community effort
So the current problem is that it cannot be picked uoby a different device running the nexis q app. My theory, along with the previous attempt of this project was that we need to change the Bluetooth id of the device running hubbroker. When running it and going into the normal Bluetooth settings it renames the device as the nexus q
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have 2 devices with NFC. If I have broker open and beam it to the other it asks me what room the Q is located in. But then it just says connecting forever.
This message came up when I tried to run Light Flow Lite downloaded from play store. Never seen the message on any app before.

Same here. Hopefully whatever officer of Samsung made this decision dies painfully and they revert to their old less douchy tactics. Otherwise my money is going elsewhere.
looks like there is no root, without root Light flow doesn't work.

No worries, that can be turned off. Go to settings, security, and chnage some setting from "high" or "tough" or "advanced" (I forget what they called it) to "normal." Once I turned it on "normal" I didn't see that message pop up anymore.
I still need root access, though...
I got the message with security set to normal. The developer has since updated the app and the message no longer appears.

It goes like this 'duun duun dundun dun dunnnnn dunn dun...' It's driving me mad. Someone must have had experienced this. So far... I played with xposed framework, a couple live wall paper apps most of which I uninstalled... A lot of modules... I cannot for the life of me imagine what is causing this looping music. It's this very young vibrant in touch with nature theme this music. Nonetheless, the fact i have no clue it's origin I'm kinda whiggin out here because I'm not going to turn the phone off until I figure out what it is. So.... anyone know or know of an app that can explain running processes or something? Or something built into android? Thanks. I'll be waiting with this maddening briskly moving nature beat...

Email app
Mine does the same thing, it is from the built in email app, if you get a new email it has a different sound, but each following email that comes in has a short ring type chime and if you get 5 emails in a row it will chime that many times, so if your getting a lot of junk mail/spam you'll get a lot of jingles..
That's what my issue is anyway, yours may be different, it sounded like a similar issue so i thought i'd share.
