Hi,
No need to shut it down(power off)
Switch off the screen while you charge will be quicker than if you use it whilst charging.
It takes about 2 to 2 and half hours on the supplied wall charger.
Longer if you intend to use it at the same time.
ok thanks for ur fast reply

+1 about 3 hours..
I dont know but its half a day, It says in the manual dont use it while charging haha, on heavy browsing it never charges up This phone is a power guzzler.
3 hours from an AC socket.
I'd expect 7 hours from a USB.
So I have my phone on a dock and connected to my PC via USB to keep it charged and I like to keep the screen on whilst doing this. Are there any downsides to this? Does it wear the battery down at all? (1) With the screen always on the battery doesn't really charge, just sits on the same % which I don't mind so much but want to make sure it's safe to leave it like that regularly.
When the screen is off how quickly should the phone charge via USB? (2) It still seems to be pretty slow, I understand it wouldn't be as quick as the power adapter of course. I have an ASUS motherboard and there is supposed to be a USB Charger Plus Driver from ASUS which I believe gives more power to a certain port you can use which should charge it quicker if supported, would that be safe for the battery? (3)
I've numbered each question (1-3) so should be easier to answer, thanks for any help!

Yes, It will downgrade your battery.
Don't always leave your display on. Like we also needs a 6-7 hours sleep after long any hectic routine same is with phone.
Some manufacturer's have specially built an USB 3.0 port for the charging purpose, so you can use that.
:good:

Well the screen will be off all night and 30+% of the day, might that be ok?
Will leaving it plugged in with USB and screen off still degrade the battery still?

Yup, if screen is off all the night, it will perfectly charge your phone.
No, leaving it plugged in doesn't degrade the battery.:good:

I use two method to charge my phone
1 - Wireless Charging (Qi Charger not the original N4 charger)
2- via USB
On 1st when its fully charged the then the crazy battery drain starts. What is the point Wireless charging if I have to keep guard and disconnect while its fully charged ?
On2nd method I go to sleep shutting down PC while phone still connected. Same fate !
Im really helpless there. Anyone know what the heck is happening there ? It will be a huge help !
I found this app called safe charge as a work around
But seriously ? app for charging :/
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sash.sodeliminator&hl=en
plug it into a wall charger. you dont get as much/fast as a charge via usb nor wireless. an app running could be using as much or more voltage than is coming in. ive seen live wallpapers use more charge than being brought in via usb.

If the output plug is the same as the phone (we don't see it on your pick) no problem it will charge BUT at very low rate because rated output is ONLY 500 mA max. So be patient or charge at night and have your full sleep.

For sure it is much better; but sometime it is needed to have a second charging position and why not? Just to keep in mind the potential drawback.

YES, As per my first answer. Charging time will be 4 times longer but it will end 100%. about the same if you charge from a computer USB plug.

Hi, i want an advice for my problem regards to this phone. When i buy this phone, for my first battery charge i use the option fast charge and by battery has been complete charge in 1 hour and 30 minutes. I decided to turn off this feature and to try standard charge, but the time for the complete charge of battery was 9 hours. I consider that is much, why i have this time using standard charge? My charge adaptor suppose that cover this two option: fast charge and standard charge.
Please any advice is appreciated.
