Hi all,
is there any way to remove bootanimation on stock Nexus S 4.1.1 with AirKernel? I´d like to see what´s happening during bootanimation..
Something like on older PCs or in some Linux distros. I know there are lots of BIOS-like animations, but it isn´t what I want..
Something like:
Kernel start..
Checking sensors..
Backlight check..
Starting system... etc.
I think You know what I mean..
Thank You
Just use root explorer to delete file bootanimation.zip in /system/media.

didnt make backup
i want them back please
hey guys is it difficult to give me the stock snote apk or aflashable zip
also please the stock file browser
If the ROM you flashed had them before you removed them you can extract them from there very easily. You'll find them in the system/app of the zip. Just extract to system change permissions and reboot

Considering you have an s4 and are flashing random files for the s3, yes. I'd recommend backing up your apps with titanium doing a full wipe and flashing a new ROM. There's plenty to choose from here on xda

Hey people,
I want to have completely new icons without using the LG theme manager.
I have downloaded icon package over 1400 original mini icons.
Is it possible to put them somewhere where they overwrite the existing icons.p??
Format of them are all* .png

If they are in apk format, you can use Unicon from the Play Store
Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.
I have downloaded unicorn, but it supports only launcher themes..
Well what I have is this.: screenshot 1.
Its a zip file where all these: screenshot 2 , png's
Are. ...
Is there not a way to push them in a folder to overwrite existing icons png' s??

If you have an apk of icons, install them to your phone, and Unicon will do what it does with them. I do this all the time and it works great.

hmm, nope i dont have an apk...
i do only have the right name Format as PNG's....
i wish i just need to paste them in a folder and reboot to get the new icons.
I think it's impossible without making custom LG Theme.
LG Launcher doesn't use icons from /system, only from .apk data.
You must install LG Theme with your icons for overwrite .apk data icons... Maybe try extract any LG Theme, change icons and install it.
Yes it is just put them in dcim\camera or what ever so they show up in your gallery than u can use the press n hold thing on LG home n select choose icon from gallery n change to the icon you want

Openvpn does not work for me, I get local (unbound)
It seems the tun module for the kernel is missing or smth, but I was heavily modifying my system and would like to know if it works for you?
I might be wrong but I think I did use it on my note 3 before, but cant really remember...
Just a simple yes or no is already enough for me please.
anyone?
OpenVPN (tap adapter) works great for me, running through mine now. I use the openvpn settings app to manage the connection. I use bridging mode so I'm not sure about the tun module as bridging uses tap. Works over wifi and mobile on T-Mo's $30 prepaid plan.

thanks man, did you have to install anything beside the openvpn settings?
The openvpn binary, I had to extract it from the OpenVPN installer apk and copy it to /system/xbin as the installer app doesn't work right.

Ahh I tried to use the one from the openvpn connect app, but it doesnt work right.
But I think its because of me modifying my system so hard.
garh everything is working fine just not openvpn.
Dont want to login to google without vpn, can you maybe upload the binaries and libs from the openvpn installer apk or the apk itself or send via pm or smth? Its free right? Just cant download it through play store myself as long as i got no vpn hehe.
Don't want to reinstall everything again ...... argh =).. man im so close to trip my knox purposely just to have nandroid backups to avoid this reflash bs when things dont work suddenly ..
(or i need to figure out whats causing this... i already checked the binary permissions etc.. sigh)

There's a link to the apk there, it's open source on google code. It also tells you how to extract and install from the command line if you have the terminal emulator app.

Do you have an idea what could break the openvpn? It shouldnt be dependant on any apk or? (I heavily debloated my system) - I got vpndialogs still off course.
Its allowed in afwall+, runs as root but still no connection

Just use kindle fire first aid, put the device in fastboot mode first, easy way of doing that is booting into twrp and hitting reboot>bootloader. From there kffa will restore the system to stock amazon rooted. Not sure if it restored stock recovery though.

OK that is probably a driver issue, check the device manager for a device with a yellow triangle next to it and try updating its drivers to the ones in my signature. I can't stand using my kindle with windows, seems every time I go between cm, recovery, and fastboot I have to uninstall the device and let it reinstall it again.

if you have twrp just download the flashable stock rom that hashcode made then let it update on its own. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2218475

you don't need to delete it. only if you don't want it to update. you can go to amazon and follow the directions for a manual update.

Once you have flashed TWRP you can only return to stock using fastboot. Whether you use something like a system restore tool or just push the images in fastboot you still need to start with a fastboot cord.
1. Fastboot cord.
2. download system restore tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
3. You also need to download the SDK package and set paths in your environment for fastboot.exe and adb.exe. Here is a video tutorial to assist you with that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaNM-lt_aHw
ok you say it dont work but thats exactlly what i did and mine did just what i said i flashed hashcodes stock rom then let it update. the update took my root and recovery away. had no problems. but every kindle reacts differently to different things so i dont know what to say.

also i think i used the 7.3.0 stock flashable rom. Also you if you can find the orignal thread for disabling ota updates there should be a script to enable the ota updates . you can try that. otherwise you are gonna have to use the fastboot cable and restore tool like linear equation said.
