Why every time I try and view a picture in my gallery, the menu bar or whatever you want to call it never disappears. Even after taping the picture

when I pull up a photo with the stock gallery app it shows the menu bar you are referring to, then a second tap makes it go away, & a third tap brings it back

Yep. One tap SHOULD make it go away.

Unfortunately this seems to be a widespread problem. From what I've seen it has to do with the "accessibility"settings. I had the same problem when I installed NoLED and gave it permission under accessibility. After I turned off the accessibility feature everything went back to normal. Hope that helps.

If the status bar is gone you can swipe down from the top of the phone/earpiece and the statusbar will come back, and if you swipe up on it it will go back again. Only on a TouchWiz ROM, but it works in all apps.

That's not the bar the OP is referring to.

I don't think it is the app so much as it is having given it permission under accessibility but I could be wrong.

Hi everyone, Im new to the tablet world as of this past weekend and was curious about something. Hoping someone could help me out.
I got my SG Tab 10.1 (wifi only) on saturday. Brought it home set it up and did the update to 3.2. I noticed that my icons on the task bar aren't blue and my settings screen isn't black and blue like the honeycomb icons should be. Ive searched pictures and youtube also and they all have different icons than I do. Is there a reason for that? Is it because I have the wifi only one and not a 3g one or anything? I wasn't for sure and I have been browsing for the answer now for 2 days and I get no answer, even samsungs website shows a picture of the honeycomb . So I thought I would come home to the family at xda to find the answer. Thanks in advance for helping me out.
Here is a picture of my screenshot running 3.2 and the grey icons that are from the original honeycomb

The different colors is samsung's touchwiz. If you do what the previous post says, you'll be stuck with 3.1. Instead, you should root and install galaxy task (which is 3.2) with one of boosted's themes. Much better and faster!

Is there any way to get this back without waiting for roms?
(Also, what is that thing called?)

Navigation bar, the aokp rom has thus feature built in. I'm not sure if there's a mod for touchwiz roms yet though.

Why do you want double buttons when they are built into the S3, it just takes up extra screen space? The Nexus and other devices that don't have hardware buttons use those soft buttons.
Go to phantoms rom page and there's the mod to enable it there.

Ahh sorry, I should of mentioned I'm on verizon.
And @Halmo I'd like the keep the feel that stock android gives, and I also don't like having to hold a button for the task manager.

No way to do that. Just wait for someone to develop a ROM that will work with all that locked bootloader jazz. At that point, you might be able to get the nav bar back.

Hey everyone.
Did you all know that the Note 10.1 default Browser has a fullscreen mode with quick controls that are gesture based? (I wish the controls were bigger, though)
If you go to Browser settings and then to Labs section, there is a Quick Controls option you can enable. Is this new in Jelly Bean based roms?
Basically your Browser goes fullscreen with no bars and you can swipe from the left or right edge to bring up a semi-circular set of touch controls to do whatever you want.
Or, maybe, you all knew this and I am a noob.

Sorry to say it but " YOU ARE A NOOB" also its not the only or first browser with this feature. ?
Still thanks for sharing. I'm sure there are enough people who are not aware of this feature and they might be helped by your post.
It had this is 4.0 but the controls wee bigger and ALOT easier to use

I didn't know about this until I was told a few weeks ago, it's very good for quick and full screen browsing, but like the OP said; it would be better if the buttons could be increased in size.

Did Verizon remove the option for lock screen shortcuts (from the lock screen menu) , or is that hiding somewhere else?

It's there. Settings>Lockscreen>Shortcuts Turn them on and then you can customize the apps as well.

When I go into the Lockscreen menu under Setting, I don't see anything about Shortcuts :-/
I am hoping that this is something obvious that I am not seeing, but would you mind posting a screen shot of that setting?
It's there for me. Here's a screenie.

Thanks for the screen shot,...I have no idea why that option is NOT on my phone,...-.-' Well,...with Root de la Vega out now,...AND that it doesn't trip Knox, I'm not sure if I'm going to just leave things as is, or if I should Root and see if the re-install of the OS would pop that selection up.
Thanks again, repsol!

Shortcuts are not available with pattern or pin (possibly password too?) lockscreens. Try switching to swipe to unlock.

Actually, I didn't. One of the moderators moved it here. There was one post, then the one that got moved here. That said, I got my question answered. Certain settings disable certain options. Instead of merely ghosting unavailable options, Google (?) opted to not show them at all.

Why do I have this weird looking cursor? It just started 2 days ago. I have also noticed when I get popup notifications on the bottom of the screen, the top left corner is cut off. Any ideas why this started?

Problem still persists after I clear the cache. I guess I'm just going to have to deal with it, as it's not a big enough problem to warrant a factory reset and have to reinstall everything.

You can always try to flash stock firmware and see if this will help.
