Use fullscreen with the browser - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I remember i could go full screen (hide the address bar) with S3 but it dont see any option to do so in S4 browser.
Any one know if its hidden somewhere or samsung removed it?
I really like the air gesture so would like to stick to samsung browser but its annoying to have the bar eating up the space....

Galaxy Note Lockscreen apps (?)

Hi friends
Im gonna post a link to a video of the galaxy Note and from 00:56 to 01:05
you will notice that a nice looking chick is holding the Note on the lockscreen,
and it appears that there are some apps that appear on the bottom, right about
where the dock would be if the phone was unlocked.
Does anyone know if this is actually possible on the Note and how?
Im not refering to apps that customize the lockscreen because this
doesn appear to be an app.
I personally looked into the settings but had no luck.
Im guessing it was only a pre-production thing or else I would have found it.
But then again Im no expert...
Anyone with knowledge on the matter, please share your lights
here is the link:

just found another one
I just found another video that shows the apps on the lock screen
and a couple more on the top right of the screen.
Where the heck are these options??????

I have this feeling I've seen that screen elsewhere before... I don't have my Note with me, but if you check under the stock Clock application, i think the rightmost tab has something that has shortcuts on the bottom and top right like that?

What a goof I am!
Thank you both.
You're both right!
This obviously happens on the dock or if you choose this screen from the standard clock app.
Thanks
That is the Clock mode. Just enter Apps/Clock =)

Oh well, Galaxy Note DID have a lockscreen with app shortcuts like sense 3.0 lockscreen up to version JHA. Later on, Samsung decided to take out this feature....maybe for patent reason?!?!
What a pity! It was one of the reasons for me to buy the Galaxy Note!

I would only use a lockscreen app that doesnt interfere with the home button.
I paid for Lockmenu Pro and my money went to waste because the app interfered with the home button just like a launcher and there was no option ti cancel this. Pressing the home button once while the phone was locked, and it unlocked! Called my boss at 1:00am while in my pocket!!!!
Does widgetlocker mess up the home button?
it's not the desk clock, on the desk clock in the top right hand corner there's an expand/contract button, whereas in the video that button isn't there

[Q] New Message banner on lock screen

Has anyone noticed that when you tap a new message notification on the lock screen a clear white box pops up below? Isn't it supposed to open the messaging app when you tap on it? This happens even when my unlock Pin has not been triggered yet. I would post a screen shot but it goes away when I try to.

I guess the requirement for the swipe in the bottom prevents from accidentally unlocking you phone when its in your pocket.
My question is, how do I add more applications to that lock screen thing? I would like to use other apps, other than just text and missed calls.

That stuff is all in settings>my device>lockscreen. Add shortcuts, widgets, change the banner text or change the banner to clock....
Here's a question: on my s3 when I would get a text it would tell me who it was from on the lockscreen and the first few lines of the text would scroll by in my status bar, I'm wondering if anybody knows of a mod to give me this feature on the s4? Or if there's a mod for a popup message/quick reply with the stock messenger?

If you go into settings in the messaging app there is an option to turn on Preview.

There is no swipe at the bottom just a blank clear box that pops up when I tap on the message. I'm thinking maybe if I add some favorite apps to the lock screen thats where they would show up and since I havent set any its just blank. I will try this out.

If you are using the swipe to unlock feature. The default unlock with the phone, that clear box is the widget that reads the swipe.

You can use the AOSP version of the stock browser, in full screen it removes everything and then you can use the quick controls to swipe in from the side of the screen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2385933
Video in that thread shows off what I'm talking about in the later portions.
If you are rooted to can try out this app from the market:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.mkrtchyan.aospinstaller&hl=en
You could try an aftermarket browser too. I have used Dolphin for years and love it. It does fullscreen and you can change User Agent too. No more getting stuck in mobile versions of websites.

All the Galaxy S series and NOTE series phones has that feature built-in. (no settings you can change)
Just swipe your finger down anywhere below the center of the screen and it will work great.
It's possible that you are using a launcher which has an option to change the
default swype down to some other action and that's why its not working for you.
Give it a try, good luck!

Try nova launcher. This allows you to setup gestures such as swiping down anywhere for the notification bar. However, this feature is only available on the home screens so im afraid it won't help if you're in an application

Edge panel open apps as a popup?

I've never been a fan of the edge display or the shortcuts and panels, not sure if I'm the only one thinking that samsung put a half baked feature.
Anyway I was asking if someone knows of an edge panel that lets you open apps as a floating window or popup, like opening the calculator, calendar or browser.

Hi....If you want to use floating windows go to .......Settings >> Advanced features >> Multi windows and set what you need........it's very simple and you're not required Edge panel for that.... [emoji6]
S7 edge Powered by Echoe
Thanks @Xode,
What I meant is to have a shortcut to launch them in a floating window directly.

Omg..double post again

@Xode, thanks, no problem about the triple post lol.
I know about that feature, but it's not what I also want, I want some sort of app that creates a shortcut that launches apps in floating mode directly,
it would really be nice to launch apps like the calculator from the edge panel in a floating window directly!
Thanks again for your help!
Maybe look at Swiftly switch sidebar or the Pro version . Also try apps edge from Galaxy apps (see next post for screenshot)
Screenshot referred above.
Ignore my post. Reread the op.
