Mine went for warranty because there was some fingerprints/glue under the camera lens. Have it exchanged again, that's not normal at all.

Removing Cincinnati Bell logo

Has anyone managed to remove the ugly Cincinnati Bell decal logo off their vibrants? If so, how did you go about doing this?
LOL, I've seen that logo and its substantially more obnoxious than any other logo I've seen. I can't remember exactly but I think its up at the top alot like the T-Mobile logo is just ALOT BIGGER(a pic might help maybe?). If it is then I know the Otter Box case covers up that whole section. It will still be there but at least you won't have to look at it anymore. Good luck!
Hi very likely I will be getting Samsung vibrant what do you think of it

lol, Yup thats what I was thinking. I saw one in person once and that was the first thing I noticed, the gawd awful logo!
- have your tried some sort of paint thinner? maybe goo-gone? be careful tho
- seriously google "samsung vibrant otterbox" images, its a great case and it will cover that area completely.
I removed my CB logo with a razor blade and bit of patience.

Meh. It's harmless, and I've barely noticed it was there since I got my phone a couple months ago.
Why risk possibly damaging the phone or the gorilla glass?

Two reasons - the screen protector bubbles around it and two; everyone and their cousin asks you why there's a sticker on the front of your phone.
A co-worker removed his with his fingernail and a CreditCard.

Comes right off
... if you just use a little bit of isopropanol and a kimwipe (or if you don't have that, try using a non-scratch dish sponge)
Guess what it says underneath?!? T-mobile LOL
If it's just a decal, heat it up a little (leave it on your dash) and see if you can't get it off then. Several years ago I owned a small graphics company and we used this stuff called "Vinyl Up" to remove anything with an adhesive. It's very gentle and doesn't eat paint. That said, it's a little expensive in this context.

ZAGG?

I ordered my 16gb yesterday, sweet, and it is due to arrive in 1-2 weeks.
I ordered a ZAGG front and back protection. My questions is, does anyone use the zagg on the N4??
I am hoping it will combat the drops that will without a doubt take place.
thanks...

As soon as my factory plastic rubbed off back of phone I went to BB and got a cut yourself Zagg front and back. Back fits perfectly ( minus my lack of cutting skills. Front was however about 2/5th an inch too short.) Looks decent and I actually have a case coming and will probably get a different front at some point but it works for now.

It's a popular screen protector.

They have an orange-peel like texture that's pretty love it or hate it but they provide good protection and minor scratches resolve themselves over time.
I had one on my galaxy nexus. It worked well for a while but the edges gradually became very dirty, so I switched to an XO skin.

I prefer BSE or Skinomi, same thing pretty much, but for like half the price.

Very similar yes...in fact most of the time I prefer the BSEs as well, however, I'm looking for a bit more grip on the back of my N4 so I went with the Zagg. They are quite a bit more sticky so they improve grip. I actually bought both a BSE and a Zagg so I'll compare, but I know what the BSE feels like since I have it on the back of my iPad Mini. It's pretty slippery, which is why I bought a Zagg after it was released.

Dust underneath Front Camera?

I was just cleaning off my screen and I noticed theres some dust under the screen in the front camera hole. There's dust, and some stuff that looks like ice crystals or salt. It's been in my pocket all day and I think it's really weird. I'm not going to RMA or anything, because I will probably never use the front facing camera anyway. I always use the back
I too have dust in my front facing camera. Not a big deal but really LG? The build quality may look good on this phone but it's actually pretty bad. This is my fourth phone. I'm not rma-ing again.
You can easily take out the back cover and remove it.
You just need a #5(?) torque screw and a prying tool to open the back cover.

I don't understand why OEM's cant manufacture a phone with a proper dust seal gasket. It drives me absolutely nuts when there is dust under my screen. My old HTC Desire HD had dust under the screen within a week of purchase, and i took it back to telus. Unacceptable.

I shouldn't have to do this. I would rather rma it than possibly damage the phone and void the warranty.

Dropped 185 lbs on my nexus

Phone is cracked on front and back what're my options here?
send it in to LG for repair... i know when my screen cracked it cost $140 to repair, i'm unsure as to what the cost would be to repair the back as well.
alternatively you can buy the glass itself and replace it yourself but in my case it was cheaper to just have lg fix it.

When this happened to me I just bought another one that had the opposite damage. You could probably get away with a water damaged phone if the digitizer isn't sensitive to a little h2o.
Is that all that's damaged?
Pictures? Did you fall on it or something, I mean, 185 lbs, lol...

well i took it in to get repaired.. the guy came out half way through the repair and said that they put a new screen in but that it wasn't responsive.. i'm thinking more than just the screen and back broke.. the guy said it was for sure their screen though.. he told me that they'd order a new one and have it done tomorrow.. hope it was actually a faulty screen...
Leave us an update. I got my pop corn nearby

Sapphire glass camera lens?

I thought this thing was supposed to have a glass camera lens? I was super excited about that when I got the phone because all of my past phones ended up getting scratched camera lenses. Turns out that this lens now has micro scratches just like all the rest. It doesn't have any coating or plastic on it does it? It feels like plastic when I checked to see if it had a lens cover... I'm pretty disappointed with this.
Sapphire doesn't mean unscratchable though.....

Sure, it you handle of lot of diamonds. Sapphire is 9 hardness on the mohs scale. I have a watch with a sapphire crystal and its still as shiny as the day I got it, 6 years later.
U expect the same sapphire quality as ur watch?

I know it's not "unscratchable" but having micro scratching after day 3 is pretty disappointing. I wonder if there is a coating similar to what's on the gorilla glass?
Man... This is pretty bad. Real scratched up, and I'm gentle on my phone. Is there any cover I can put over it similar to a screen protector?
Mine is scratched to after 3days. Only flaw worth the phone imo.

Sapphire will scratch. Just not as bad as glass.
Scratch free here, but my case keeps the lens lifted off surfaces, not sure if that is a big factor or not.
Using a case I don't see how you could scratch it up, even when I wear a nice watch with sapphire I am careful not to bang into things. Heck I'm always careful not to bump into stuff and hurt myself lol. Seriously tho I know some folks like to go naked with their phones and appreciate the form factor but one downside is its going to get scuffed up. I had a Rado watch once and you couldn't scratch that ceramic, that would be a good material to make a phone shell from.
I got 1 scratch. I don't know how i got it because i baby this phone

I never use screen protectors but I think I'll grab the good one at T-Mobile that they painstakingly put on since I would screw it up, case and that if it manages to get a scratch I'll freak out lol

I'd be surprised if you scratch it if you're even casually nice to your phone. Can't say the same for glass, even special glasses. It'll shatter, but you have to really abuse sapphire to scratch it.
So how do these scratches on the lens affect picture quality?
This is probably obvious but, the phone came with a little plastic disk over the lens. You did peel it off...??

Mine is Verizon, but the disk over the lense was a bugger to get off. I'd think they'd all come with it from the factory. IDK...
Micro scratches do not effect image quality. Unless the scratch is deep enough to refract light, then it doesn't matter.
But if you are really worried about it (ocd) then you can sometimes buff out a scratched lens by using a purified water and alcohol mixture. Dip a microfiber cloth into the solution and buff out lens... then use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe clean.
