I ordered my 16gb yesterday, sweet, and it is due to arrive in 1-2 weeks.
I ordered a ZAGG front and back protection. My questions is, does anyone use the zagg on the N4??
I am hoping it will combat the drops that will without a doubt take place.
thanks...

As soon as my factory plastic rubbed off back of phone I went to BB and got a cut yourself Zagg front and back. Back fits perfectly ( minus my lack of cutting skills. Front was however about 2/5th an inch too short.) Looks decent and I actually have a case coming and will probably get a different front at some point but it works for now.

It's a popular screen protector.

They have an orange-peel like texture that's pretty love it or hate it but they provide good protection and minor scratches resolve themselves over time.
I had one on my galaxy nexus. It worked well for a while but the edges gradually became very dirty, so I switched to an XO skin.

i order front and back, not the full body protection
I prefer BSE or Skinomi, same thing pretty much, but for like half the price.

Very similar yes...in fact most of the time I prefer the BSEs as well, however, I'm looking for a bit more grip on the back of my N4 so I went with the Zagg. They are quite a bit more sticky so they improve grip. I actually bought both a BSE and a Zagg so I'll compare, but I know what the BSE feels like since I have it on the back of my iPad Mini. It's pretty slippery, which is why I bought a Zagg after it was released.

I say this because after reading the verge review, Joshua knocked the phone over and the back glass broke.
Well I sure dont want to risk so I will.
Just ordered a Best Skins Ever full body skin, should offer some protection without ruining the look of the phone
Cruzerlite FTW
Maybe if there is one with the flip cover that doesn't add too much bulk otherwise no case. It's too pretty.

SquareTrade or something is a popular choice I keep hearing about
I'll make my own protective cover, using double sided adhesive tape, liquid teflon or silicon. Modeling that to just fit Nexus 4's back and adding 1mm to its thinness.
I may get the bumper case
Sent from my SGH-T769 using xda premium
Nope.. I wouldn't have one for my iPhone either if Apple didn't give it to me free of charge.
The glass looks nice apart from the fact that it's a fingerprint magnet.

Nope I never used a cover on my phone, it's make phone super ugly

Yeah, probably a TPU one.
I will most definitely get a Noreve case for it.
Yep, a black rubber one for the back/sides and a clear skin for the screen.
I voted no, but would use a thin clear case if they became available just for scratch protection. I don't care for the TPU cases as they add some bulk.
Will be getting a flip case...
I don't know really, I've never had a glass parts phone, only plastic.
I saw the Verge video too and the crack was pretty annoying since once you see it you can't ignore it.
But then again with screenprotectors and cases the phone gets less comfortable, besides Gorilla Glass 2 is supposed to be really strong and flexible. Once I get the phone and use it for a bit I'll rethink and definitely check out this thread again to see who recommends what cases etc.
Yes, but I'll only use it for the first month or so. After that naked.

Most likely getting a Otterbox here. I've got a baby who loves to reach for small things with bright screens. It's begging for a mishap.
Would a case mess up the wireless charging?

They don't look the same to me at all? I mean look at the form factor, the Optimis G is rounded corners and a flat screen. Nexus is more rounded with a curved screen.
ZAGG has ones made just for the N4, but not the HD one you are looking for:
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/lg-nexus-4-e960-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I went to the zagg stand at my local mall looking for the same. The HD zagg screen protectors are soooo nice and smooth. They said the best they could do is a custom cut, but Im uneasy about that, afraid it would come out looking crappy.
I had a custom cut one done for me using a HD invisible shield for the iPad 3. $20 and wow its nice!

Yeah the HD is much better than the original Zagg, too bad they don't sell it cut for the Nexus 4.
Probably because the Nexus 4 is only carried by a few carriers worldwide.
Ah thanks guys.
I think I'll get one of the Max protect ones today before their 50% off sale ends tonight. This way, at least the back is also protected and I can just replace the front with the HD one if they ever make it.
Has anybody received theirs yet?
I received mine the front & back its it looks really clear but I think the HD would be better and it covers the back really nice.

Thanks for the pics!
I've only ever used the original ZAGG so I don't know anything about the HD version.
I guess ZAGG's new way of dealing with the proximity sensors and front facing cam is to just leave a cutout to the edge. I liked their old style of making it cover everything but those sensors/cam. Hmph.

There isnt really a "best" case as someone will have a different opinion in certain design of feature the case will have over another.
Check out the Nexus 4 Accessories thread there is a lot as well as a sticky on the current cases out:

If TPU gel cases are fine then Cruzerlite is pretty good. They are a bit expensive but if you buy two, you can usually get one for free from them.

I like the quality and fit of the Nillkin cases, come with a screen protector too. Obviously an 'engineered' product when you fit one on.

Nillkin is a very nice and fitted case but it would not protect it from a drop... Just learned that the hard way earlier today... Although it appears it covers the corner bezel... Mine managed to be chipped right next to the case. Today is a sad day

Ive been doing a lot of reading and havent seen too much in depth talk about the n4 with a zagg and case. Seems like every case i get bubbles my zagg around the edges as they currently dont have a "case friendly" one. Ive used zaggs for a long time and i really dont want to switch to anything else but this is getting frustrating and expensive. lol. So with that what cases are you guys using with a zagg?
no one uses a zagg with a case these days? :silly:
Zagg is a complete rip-off. I use XtremeGuard and a diztronic case. You'll love it.

It's a matter of patience. I hate putting on screen protectors. I really do. I started from the top to align the earpiece, proximity sensor and front camera. And when you use the case, you have to wedge the phone in so the case won't lift up the protector. If your case has a lip around the edges that will help a lot.

I ordered some note 2 glass screen protectors cause I thought I would have the n2 for quite some time but I came across a deal I couldn't pass up on Craigslist for a note 3. So I put the n2 glass screen protector on the n3. It fit pretty decent for being for a N2. It would fit even better if I wouldn't have put it on crooked lol. The glass screen protectors were 10 dollars shipped on eBay.

Thats actually a good idea. I just got my Note 3 yesterday and my screen protectors are not coming in until Monday. In the meantime I was afraid of something happening. I am going to throw my spare Note 2 screen protector on it for now.
The phone has gorilla glass 3, I have yet to scratch an old pos HTC thunderbolt or skyrocket. Money better spent on a square trade warranty.
Currently I put iSmooth Note 2 screen protector as temporary.
MIME will come tomorrow.

Sand and glass don't mix, a possible bur on keys, I've already jammed a aluminum flashlight into my pocket with the phone against the screen, no sharp edges, it did no damage. If you wear a ring with exposed stones, that too can damage. In and out of a clean pocket will do nothing, unlike the older phones.
I'd never let my fiance use a phone without a screen protector, she'd damage it in a day, depends how conscious you are of the screen.
Still cheaper to get a square trade at this point, 99 and then 100 deductible, replacing the screen is very difficult on this phone, you are more likely to break more in the process, plus it is still more $ than the warranty. Best of luck.

I had this exact problem when I initially installed my screen protector. It was extremely tough to use the S-Pen and felt extremely rubbery. The next day, I tried the S-Pen again and it was absolutely smooth and normal.
I think that there was something left on the screen protector after I initially removed the thin plastic film that they stick to it for shipping.
