Hi,
Look HERE
or HERE
or HERE

Turn on air gesture from the notifications panel

That function is called Quick glance
To enable it slide down the notification bar with two fingers, long press Air gesture, enable Air gesture, press Quick glance to select which info to be displayed, enable Quick glance.
After that, put the phone on a flat surface, hover your hand in front of the movement sensor while sitting on a comfy beach lounge chair with a cold beer in the other hand...
Ty Sammy!

Thanks allot guys, this phone is fantastic

Turn off s-pen hover function

Is there any way to disable the s-pen hover function on the galaxy note? In many apps I get s-pen clicks all over the place, completely unintentionally, because the screen detects the pen hovering close to the screen and reads it as clicks. This is really annoying and I need to turn it off. Most of the time I only want the screen to register my actual clicks with the pen, not the hovering.

There is an option under Settings> Pen Settings> Hovering pen icon..try disabling it & see if it helps..
Did try that, it only turns on and off the icon or dot showing where the pen is hovering. It does not change the behaviour of registering clicks when just hovering or even just having the s-pen close to the screen. When I got my Note it already had android 4.0.4, but from what I read, the Note did'nt even have the hover functionality before it got ICS. In my opinion the whole hover-thing is flawed, on my Note anyway. Sometimes it responds to hovering with clicking everything, and sometimes it don't.
Your pen is slightly bugged out. Try shaking it a little or gently tapping the front end of the pen (where the tip is) against your hand.
The pen point still has a contact made inside the pen and causes phantom presses.
The pressure sensor may be stuck. Does it draw a line in S Memo when hovering? The line is supposed to get thicker when you press harder and no line at all when not pressing. When the Note first came out, a lot of people had the problem. There were fixes.

yes my wife's note 3 n9000q model has the same problem.
Any tips to solve it?
I've noticed the same thing, I think it's ROM related, because if you actually go in every gesture and click try it, it works just fine.
Also the gestures do work just kind of strange, I've noticed it with screen off, when you keep moving your are over the sensor a lot fast, the preview screen does come on.
Also answer Call and screen shot movements work fine.
For me I don;t use them as much, specially since the eye stuff work great, I would just leave it alone, I thinks it's ROM not hardware so changing the note won;t help. But I may be wrong, I still have like 10 days to exchange so if someone knows more info please share
Problem solved.
Went to the shop and replce it for a new one. the sensor was broken.
I don't get the icon, but it does work.
Not that I use it, it drains my battery to much.
Hey Guys,
So here's the explanation. The Air Jump icon which looks like a hand with directional arrows around it only appears in the embedded email application on the Note 3 as well as some select 3rd party applications on the Google Play Store.
On the Galaxy S4 it appears in the embedded browser as well to allow users to scroll through web pages by waving your hand from bottom to top or top to bottom.
I'm not sure why they have left this out but i imagine it's because the phone has smart scroll already which might make air jump redundant.
Hope this helps.

Has anyone tried to pull the Browser from the S4 and install it on a Note 3 to see if the air gestures work in that? I too was disappointed when I got my Note 3 because I actually used the full page scroll and left/right page switching a lot on the S4.

Maybe your sensor was indeed broken, but mine is fine (Works with Air Call Accept, Email app)

[Q] One-handed operation

I only tried to use this feature on my S5 a couple times, but my wife would like to use this feature on her new N4. I find that starting the One-handed operation function on both the S5 and N4 using the touchscreen gesture described in the enabling setting screen rarely works. It takes a bunch of swipes before the reduced One-handed screen appears.Very annoying and defeats the purpose of the feature as you actually have to try to enable it using two hands. I didn't even try to master using this feature given that it's so hard to get it started. I thought it was an issue with my S5, but after trying it on the N4... I had the same results. Is there a shortcut to enable this feature other than that the swiping gesture? Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Im sure you dont swipe correctly, for me it work all the time, just swipe your finger from screen edge to the middle then back to the screen edge with a horizontal way! Its not a V-like swipe, its like a hohorizontal "I" swipe just try it until you get it working!
Good luck!

Yes, I'm swiping correctly, but it's not very reliable it works only 1 out of 6 or 7 times. I have a wallpaper with a straight line down the middle and I swipe over that straight line to the middle of the screen from the edge of the screen and back. Of course in a horizontal I. It would be nice if this feature had a toggle in the top bar pull down to turn it on/off. I'm hoping a Xposed Module developer notices this deficiency and comes up with a module with shortcut solution.
You have to start at edge of screen then finish at edge of screen, which can be a problem if you have a case. Doesn't hurt to actually go past the center either.
I can do it pretty consistently, and the times I fail I know it's because I hit the rim on the case and didn't swipe all the way to edge.

Is it possible to use the back screen as a scroll bar?

Hey yota devs!
I was wondering if it's possible to make a back screen app that is on when a certain front screen app is on. For example imagine if Facebook is on, you can hold the phone and slide your index finger on the back to scroll down. Think of it like the psvita's back touchpad. Kinda useless I know since you can just use your thumb on the front but still cool

Hide the iris scanner camera when unlocking?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if it were possible to hide seeing my face when using the iris scanner, I think it would look more neat.
I know you can activate the iris scanner as soon as you wake up the phone but I set the home button to automatically unlock (since I use smart lock and that makes it very convenient) so when I press the home button it'll instantly go to the unlock screen where the front cam is activated.
OK I guess I could use the power button instead but I was wondering if there's a way with the home button. Thanks!
Mine is intermittent as to when it does show the camera view. Most of the time it will just come up with a line of text saying look here for iris scanning and I'm never quite sure where I'm supposed to actually be looking.

You should be watching towards the top of the screen near the grid, you should do this even before turning the screen on and it's faster and more accurate
If you look at the red light left hand corner it's unlocks instantly
Yeah its not too bad, i wear glasses so is a bit of a pain sometimes it works through them most of time it doesn't. I might try and get used to doing that "guess where the fingerprint scanner is without putting your finger all over the camera lense" manoeuvre.
I meant why does it *sometimes* come up with the camera viewfinder - does yours *always* come up with the camera viewfinder?
It shows the camera when the unlock isn't instant, or this is what I noticed, just wanted to hide that for a sleeker look

Not an answer but an option. You can go into Settings>Lock screen and security>Iris Scanner>Preview screen mask
There's some goofy masks but maybe there is one that might preset a "sleeker" look for you.

Yep I know about that, that makes everything even worse imo Ahah the main problem to the "sleeker look" is that the camera is super low res, I don't know just feel it's useless but u guess there's no way to get rid of it
I got exactly same question !
That things is pure ugly in term of design and aesthetic, LoL
Hopefully someone can found a way to permanently hide that visual
To unlock your S8 or S8+ with your iris without seeing the camera preview go to:
Settings => Lock screen and security => Iris Scanner
... and turn on the very last option called "Iris unlock when screen turns on".

Thank you,
But we already know and use that option indeed.
But sometimes, we want to jnlock the phone on the table, when its not facing our face, thus we slide up the lock screen,
And then, bam, those ugly visual appear above the PIN number pad. LoL
Sure it has nothing wrong with the function. We just simply hate how it "broke" our beautiful lockscreen layout

LOOOL, I'm sorry but that made me laugh. I guess we'll have to wait for a tweak.

You can trigger the iris scanner again by clicking the text on the top center instead of swiping, this will not show the guidance visual.
I found the best way to mitigate this is to do two things.
1. Enable the toggle for "iris unlock when screen turns on" under lockscreen>iris scanner
2. Disable the toggle for "Unlock with home button" under setting>display>navigation bar
It's still not perfect but I'm at 90% success rate and it's far faster than fingerprint debacle. I figure when you press the home screen without option 2, phone triggers instant to unlock. With it unchecked it pauses so you can look at notifications.
Should default this way imo.
By golly you are right!

I know this is an old thread but I just would like to thank you for this tip! I always look at the line of text to unlock my phone and it sometimes doesn't do the trick. But looking at the red dot hasn't failed me yet!!! And it's almost instantaneous! Thanks for this tip.
