I have the red screen problem on my device and i don't seem to find any threads about it, I've just heard that there is an update for it, but does it require a rooted device and a custom rom?

Hi,
Look HERE
Related
So,
we got root....next question is will we get a cyanogen mod or a clean/optimized rom at least?
Cause a rooted device without any mods and optimization would be nothing.
Can't even uninstall brand apps.
And yes I used search, could't find anyone saying he is working on a custom rom.
Thx.
theres no bootloader access so you cant flash custom roms.

root is only achieved for the se rom.
for cynogen roms we need to crack bootloader. devs are workin on it. but as of now no custom roms possible.
i searched but havent found the answers.
plus rebooting omniadroid just leads to death( unbootable followed by removing batt)
so.. Solutions any1?

By default, the beta was rooted, claimed by the dev team. However, I personally think that it's only partially rooted, meaning that only some apps are able to detect the root, while some cannot detect that. It depends on the apps that you are using.
So i rooted my galaxy s4 with motochopper and everything seems to be working fine, however when i go to rom toolbox pro itll say "we detected that your rom is not deodexed" and when i go to the interface section...the only thing i can change are fonts...when i go to download any themes or status bar icons it goes to install and then a little window pops up and says "Unfortunately samsung link has stopped working" and more windows will pop up says the same thing but google play store, and other things...then sometimes itll say system process has stopped working and after i clicked ok on them all i click reboot from downloading the theme and thats it but the theme or status bar icons never change...
PLEASE HELPPP ive already tried reinstalling motochopper idk if i wanna try over-writing motochopper with a different rooting option...if i can please let me know...
Dude those themes and status bar icons are only for cm based roms. Romtoolbox pro is good for everything else other than what you have tried to do. Unless on cm/aosp.
ATT S4 Rooted. Beastin.
4.2.2

You can't download a custom recovery until we are able to get the bootloader unlocked. You need to read the development threads a little - particularly the one about Bootloader unlocked so you can learn about the challenge of getting the bootloader unlocked and what work has been done so far. Until the unlock tool has been released, there isn't much yuo can do. You really should not be messing around those tools on Rom Tool Box until you have until you have a custom revcovery you can use to create a back up and then mess around the way you are.
Good Luck - if I were you - I wouldn't try that stuff anymore until the bootloader unlock is out - probably towards the end of the month (hopefully) or you are going to brick your phone. (if you do end up brkcking the phone or screwiing it up real bad - you can use Samsung Kies to return to full stock - or you can download the original firmware and flash it with Odin. You can find that too in the develpment thread - just make sure you choose the right Firmware to flash - I beleive youi will find here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261573
I hope this helps.

Here's my advice...I recommend you do a little research about rooting, modding, and romming before you do anything else. This is for your benefit and only yours since most people will tend to just ignore helping you if you screw up from not reading THOROUGHLY first. You will screw your phone up to the point where you have an expensive paper weight if you do not know what you are doing.

My Nexus 4 recently started showing these lines on the display. And the option to slide to the left to launch the camera is gone? I have tried factory reseting it with no success. Anyone experiencing these issues?
Did you flash a custom kernel? Or a custom rom? Any modifications to the phone?
That's been gone since Android 4.2. You now swipe to the right lock screen to unlock to the camera.

The phone has never been rooted. So no custom roms or modifications. I am waiting to hear back from google about a replacement.
Ah Ok. I figured that, just wasn't sure. Thank you guys for your help.

If it's bone-stock then you should RMA it.
Hi, I'm currently using Galaxy Note 4 and this is my first android phone.
I'm so bored of touchwiz blue notification panel and are looking forward to flash pure android rom so I can use layers manager app.
Yesterday I tried to root it and got "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" but I was able to use the phone lol.
Whatever, I will fix that later.
What if I flash Nexus rom directly to my Note 4? Will it work?

That fact that you asked that question means YOU need to do a lot research on your own before you jack your phone up and return requesting/expecting help.
XDA is a developer's forum. Not a Android Phone help desk. There are numerous of other sites on the internet that do that.
This is a place with tons of info
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android
If you had done a Google Search or XDA entire site search of "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" you would have found out what this was and why your phone was still working lol.
And there is only one way to fix that.
