lockscreen square? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey people whaaaup!!!
look when my phone on lockscreen and i press the back arrow i see white transperent square what is this ?
and how can i get rid of it?
thxx

This is due to the new jelly bean lockscreen having widgets, if you have pattern lock on you'll see that it brings up the pattern to unlock. It pretty much brings it up if you're using a widget and want to bring the section to unlock

is the search button broke ?
nope they say to download the app from the market to remove it and when you do that no lock screen will work!
from all the threads I have seen I don't think its possible you can change it all together to a diff. one but not only keep the pattern one sorry

Are you just looking to get rid if the Sense unlock? Or trying to get rid of the pattern unlock?
I'm using widget locker to get rid of the standard Sense lock screen. I'm sure there are hundreds of different posts on what people use.

Widget locker is the way to go, you can change to the stock android or iphone style.

[Q] change lockscreen wallpaper w/pattern?

any devs out there that know how or are maybe interested in a way... I would be willing to donate for something like that and I am sure others would too....
MikFroyo 4.4 has it if you flash the rotary lockscreen mod. I'm using it right now. He adds an app to set up patterns or gestures, then you can disable the slide lock, and have an only gesture lockscreen.

I assume that is not something I can flash over my CM rom? Let me know if that is not the case, but thanks, this is on the right track.

Bumping this one ... Anyone knows how to get a clean unlock screen like S3 for example ?
Are we all on the same page here.... sometimes the lock screen will go haywire and show some mini applications, or boxes that have edit options? Like adding stuff to the lock screen when you didn't ask for it... ? Anyway to turn it off.... Might have to buy a custom locker
I dont have any widgets/apps on the lockscreen, but its kind of annoying when the clock expands and makes it hard to unlock the phone....
I guess we got too used to the "slide from anywhere to unlock" feature. Just slide at the very bottom and youre golden every time

If you slide downward from the clock widget or any other screen widget, this feature allows you to edit the current widget, add a new one, or replace.

[Q] Still Seeing the Samsung Lockscreen?

I've tried installing several custom lockscreen, currently using C-Locker. The problem is, occasionally the stock Samung lockscreen will appear. Sometimes it will get replaced in a second by the custom lockscreen and sometimes the stock lockscreen stays until I turn off the screen and turn it back on.
Is there a way to freeze/stop the stock lockscreen? or to make the custom lockscreen the ONLY lockscreen that see?
Thanks
Go to settings, search for lockscreen, set it from swipe to none. Simple
You're welcome.

Lock screen icons

Hi
I'm unrooted, on stock 4.4.2 and using Nova Prime.
I'm trying to change my lock screen shortcut icons (remove label, change theme). I'm using Lumos but it doesn't change the shortcuts. I've tried changing the theme of the stock home but that didn't apply to the lock screen either.
The pic shows what I'm currently stuck with.
Am I flogging a dead horse here or is this impossible without rooting?
Cheers

Nova doesn't actually handle the lockscreens, that's still stock G2. You'd have to get a lockscreen replacement app in order to have any control over the lockscreen icon placement and possibly the labels. I used to use one called WidgetLocker; however, lately I have preferred having no shortcuts on my lockscreen so I have been going without.
Cheers, I'll check it out.
