hey i was wodnering wich one you think its better?im using a cm 5.0.8 and its cool and stable and since froyo its out cm its making a great effort to compile and take time to get a stable and cool rom, and its ok i undertsand. in other hand we can see paul already has mcr for froyo i dont have enough time to flash roms since of work im out all day and this days i even woerk saturday and sunday are for GF
so im wondering wich one you prefer?im semi new on android perhaps i already have some apps, backups rooted phone i know a little adb and so on. so
wich one you like more? CM or MCR?
Oh gawd - what kind of answers do you expect to that question?
i personally liked mcr 21 but cm6 should be out soon so i would wait for that.
These are 2 completely different ROMs. Modaco philosophy is being as close to stock as possible with some good additions. Cyanogen is all about tweaks, performance gains, customization, etc. If you like stock then go with modaco.

You just asked questions that no one can answer but yourself. Go to the dev section and look at the ROM threads. All the info you could ever need is there, as well as screenshots in most cases.
Really its a self opinion but to me a Rom that is gingerbread and also has sense. Desire S 2.3.3 is the best if you care for senseginger
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
cm7 and it's offshoots (royal ginger) are probably the most themeable, but you lose sense/mysense, so it's about what you like. as far as kernels and stability, you really do need to spend some time trying them.

my personal favorite (for the last week..because it changes weekly) has been MIUI. It also has a theme manager letting you theme almost every aspect of the rom..Check out RoyalMIUI
Hi all!
I made this thread so it will be clear which ICS rom is the fastest at the moment.
Roms included in poll:
Kwiboo's ICS v3
Cyanogenmod 9 Alpha 12
NexusBeam HD (latest version)
(ICS) Android 4.0 by eugene373
Cyanogenmod 9 Kangs (latest)
NexusMV 2.xx.xx
If you vote for a rom, please use the latest version of it. .. Dont forget to vote peepzz!
I haven't tried eugene's rom, but the Nexus Beam has been the fastest and most stable of the rest. Still, I hear good things about eugene's rom, so maybe I'll try it. But nothing beats GB... Yet..

So far... Eugenes
Kang Kang Kang a Gong get it on.....
Asop v26 for ns4g
Follow the leader @corythug
So far it'd be Beam 2.xxx.xxx, fast stable and smooth as baby's bum!
looks like cm9 kangs are ahead so far.

ill edit eugenes rom and put that bootanimation on it
The rom I like the best isn't included in the poll; oICS v21 by aosp.

Honestly, though, how many people are fit to vote? How can you judge which is the most reliable if you haven't tried all of them?
More of a poll of which ROM everyone is on, as opposed to which is the most reliable.
Just a thought...
So as far as the NS4G, I think that CM9 KANGS has smoothest UI experienced the least lag if any but AOSP's rom definitely has faster 3g
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
I've tried all of them except Eugene's. The kangs were the fastest until I tried out Drew Garens beta 2. IMO that is the fastest right now although all of the roms lag in comparison to gingerbread. I am starting to get jealous of the speed of my girlfriends stock Nexus S....
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
Kiwiboo v3 is the best for me. Honestly no issues (i.e. Wifi, keyboard, market, calendar apps all work out of the box.)
Whenever I read a kang thread there is someone having issues, NexusBeam HD some aren't able to download apps from the Market etc.
Kiwiboo takes it for having a working ICS port with no hassle.

that was just a statement of observation, since i opened this thread the first time.
but, if you want to go there, how do you judge fastest when every user has their own experience. the same with reliability. we all look for these roms to fullfill our individual needs, and our individual needs all differ. so, i can probably say, these roms are all fast and reliable, or they wouldnt be on this list

I agree CM9 Kangs are definitely the ones to favor and will outright win this poll because:
1. It has CM on it.
People will blindly believe these are the best ones without trying others.
ZOMG CyanogenMod!!! *crackflashes*
2. It's the most frequently updated.
People always believe the latest ROMs will be better than previous ones. (See NexusBeam HD and now Android 4.0 from Eugene.)
New ROM ... need to fill crackflashing addiction ...
I cant decide between nexusbeam hd and latest kang.. i runned both.. but kang is better cuz it has all the apps. Im waiting on nexusbeam 2.2 update.. then i can compare with latest kang

Sorry, I didn't mean to be calling you out, but just talking about the poll in general.
I'm sure all the ROMs are great, just YMMV for any of them!
Personally I'm on CM also - updates are available through ROM Manager and it was stable enough for me.
Latest kang for me. Paired with the latest seuv. Snappy, better battery life

i never thought you were. my first line in that statement is a bit misleading. i see that after rereading what i wrote
also, i have to say, when i flash a rom, i usually take my favorite kernel with me. so, whatever rom im on at the time, is the fastest and most reliable rom for me

This is true, I feel. I was trying different ROMs at first, but I've noticed I've stuck with CM9 kangs, and I'm REALLY sticking to em now since I flashed today's kang + morfic's SEUV 13b ICS kernel. The speed boost I got today was amazing. With the underclock, it's faster than the early roms were when overclocked.
This is, in reality, going to be a poll about how many people use each rom.
Hi bro... I know that this question is very trivial, and perhaps it was discussed several times, but I would like to know from some maniac modding that tried various roms, what is the best AOSP rom for a daily use compatible with a good kernel like semaphore.
I have seen in the index that there are an incredible amount of roms and I do not have time to try them all so I ask for your help.
Thank you a lot. Best regards.
There isn't such thing as best ROM/Kernel. One's like this, one's like that. It depends what do you want from device. I personally prefer close to stock with some customizations, cause I don't need most ultimate eyecandy features. For me Purity works best. If you have rooted Nexus and recovery just try different ROMs till you find the best one for ya. You can try Rastacat, Omni or Paranoid. Those are good too.

There is no such thing called "best ROM/kernel/whatever". Just head over to the dev sections, try a few and then decide for yourself.

Hi,
After my personal research I have narrowed down 'my' preferred roms to these two roms,
ParanoidAndroid by @TheCrazyLex and team
PureFusion by @INT3NSE07 and team
Please discuss and help users to understand the better ROM for their devices and I think it will be more beneficial to understand how these roms are better than stock OOS too.
Thank you both the teams and all wonderful @devs of "all roms"

-RAMconsumption
-Charging stability
-System fluidity/stability "after long time"...

Ok, so Dirty Unicorns is a AOSP/CAF based rom has all the features that you would expect from a custom rom. Every thing works solid.
But the most distinguishing thing for me is this rom supports fully working OOS camera. Yes, fully working which i have never come across in any other roms so far.
You can download the final nougat build from here as the developer has already started work on Oreo. I'm sure you wont be disappointed. Many people dont know about the rom because they dont have a xda thread.
You already have it narrowed down to 2 ROMs. Just flash them both, try them for yourself, and see which you like better. In the hours you waited for responses to this thread, you could have already done this, and made the decision on your own.
It's pointless asking strangers (who have different preferences and usage patterns) which is better. In the end, what you think is "best" probably has little orno bearing on what others think/prefer.

DU seems very interesting ROM...I definitely going to try when 8.0 builds starting to drop....
But where is a nice active forum to discuss about this ROM?

You exactly had same preference as mine..I prefer PureFusion as there is active community who listens to you and provide necessary fixes at earliest...PA is smooth too and has excellent battery life...

Yes, obvious reply but I am rather looking into technicality of these roms...

Yea, I have already joined that group and even enjoying it
but I think I opened this thread with other intention and "I think" people are not getting my point
my point here is this
say when you compare stock android(AOSP) vs say MIUI (heavily modified AOSP with bloatwares)
so most of people know this and will choose AOSP for good performance
NOW, PF vs PA both are AOSP/CAF based roms, so what "you guys" think(or have experienced or I missed) what are the main points which anyone of these ROMs have over each other?
As a long standing paranoid user I can just recommend this ROM again and again. Everything works, you basically never encounter a bug and you are not swamped with useless features. The battery life hasn't let me down so far and paielred with the modded gcam you can get photos comparable to stock oxygenOS (maybe even better)
#StayParanoid
I would suggest AOSPA Extended over PA
If you want that everything(i mean everything) is working and no fc:s, go Paranoid. I get almost stocklike feeling using it. Customisations are minimal. My stream provider app is not working on custom roms and that is deal breaker for me most of the times.
OT. OOS is light and good stock. You almost dont want to flash custom roms. Novadays i prefere stable beyond customisations. (too old?)
PS. I dont have any experience of AOSPA Extended

I'd disagree as AOSPA Extended isn't what PA is all about. PA is all about refinement to the last little detail. If you have PA and tell someone that this is the stock system, nobody would think otherwise (except us people who know XDA)
That's the beauty of it. You don't have many features, but the ones you have make perfect sense and are implemented so seamlessly, that you could miss it for a stock Android feature.
