[Q] Alternative signal indicator (roaming) - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm quite often abroad and using the data connection (in "roaming" mode).
But what's annoying me a lot is that I have this "R" displayed instead of the network type "E" or "H").
I would like to have some kind of network symbol on the status bar like it's done on Samsung's Touchwiz (2 icons)
Is there any MOD (or custom ROM like Cyanogenmod) which supports this?
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
Alex

Nobody can help me? :crying:

[Q] Wifi Signal Indicator Style

Hi all,
This might be a dumb question but I’ll give it a go anyway.
I'm running an AOKP nightly and under the AOKP ROM Control options<Statusbar<Signal<Wifi Signal Indicator Style there is an option to show the Signal as Text. You then get the Wifi signal displayed in your status bar as a percentage. Personally, this is perfect for me as I have a poor Wifi signal at work and its reassuring to see the strength of my connection at work.
Is there a way for me to get this same option in CM 10.1 or any other Custom ROM? If it is available in CM10.1 where do I enable it?
Alternatively, is there a standalone app that will allow my Wifi signal to be reflected as text/percentage in my Statusbar?
At the moment only Ican find this option in AOKP. Or am I looking in the worng place?

I am not sure if this would help you but you may give it a try.
download ROM toolbox.
now go to the status bar icons option.
now choose what icon you want for WiFi from the list.
if you are lucky then you may get one with percentage..
Hi dagger,
I tried your suggestion but unfortunately ROM Toolbox does not have the percentage or text option under the Wifi statusbar icons.
Bad luck for you...

Yes I know!
Oh well I will just stick with AOKP. Hopefully it will become available on CM 10.1.

How to change the data icon?

Hello guys.
I just rooted my device and flashed the CloudyG3 ROM (which is working great in my phone) in an LG G2, D801 model from T-Mobile.
I have only made little changes using G2 Xposed app but a change that I rrally want to make is in the data icons that are shown in the status bar.
LTE is not available in my current location, but in home I get HSPA/HSPA+ with good speeds. My phone used to have a 4G icon when connected to H/H+ and 2G when in EDGE. Now, with this ROM I only get E and H (even not H+) in the status bar. The speeds are as good as they should be but it's about the icon shown.
Do you know an app or a way to change it?
Thanks! ??
First off check the lg g2 forums for the best answers (your in the HTC g2 forum)
Second know it could be an issue with the ROM or radio/baseband/modem or could just be the way the icons are displayed. Really you can put any icon in there you want and it won't mean 4g, so test your speeds before and after ROM flashes to be sure

Yes, sorry, I didn't notice the forum I selected. Anyways thanks for your answer. The ROM displays those icons, it's not a mistake, but I'd like to change them.

Possibility to show signal on status bar in dBm instead of bars?

Hello.
I just got my Redmi Note 2 Prime two days ago and I was configuring it for me and my needs. However, am I missing something or it's impossible to switch style of signal on status bar? I don't like "bars" because they don't tell me anthing. I want to see signal clearly in dBm but I can't find option to switch it anywhere.
Is it hidden somewhere in hidden menus? Do I need to edit system files/configs or install mods to make this work? And lastly, why such important and easy-to-implement option isn't implemented? System need to know signal anyway (and there are many apps that can show signal in dBm in Google Play), so why not let us choose how we want to see signal?
And the reason why I want it on status bar - it's easier to see it all the time on status bar AND apps/widgets eat resources such as CPU time or RAM.
Are there any informations about this?

Operator's name taking lot of space in notification bar

Hello there,
I have seen nobody else complaining about it, maybe its unique to this operator, but I have this little issue.
The operator's name is constantly in the notification bar and nothing I found so far made it go away : (imgur) /ao5e6pM.png (too young to link)
There is no notification related to it when I expand the bar, but it appears again at the bottom of the screen when expanded : (imgur) /0exWvnp.png (too young to link)
If anyone has a fix or ideas on how to correct that, please share.
The phone is not rooted (yet), if I must root it to correct that issue, it will only be an additional motivation.
