I've read the other battery thread and users are reporting that the Galaxy S3 battery fits into the S4 albeit with a little gap on the right side of the battery compartment.
The galaxy s3 has a official 3000mah extended battery. I was wondering if anyone knows it would fit into the S4 without having to use a extended battery cover.
Basically, measuring the sizes of the S3 extended battery and the S4 original stock battery would give a good indication.
1 thing to note is that the s4 is 7.9mm and the extenend battery makes the galaxy s3 +10mm so even if the battery fits the back door won't even close

10mm thicker? That doesn't sound right.
I'm referring to the Official 3000mah battery by Samsung, not the OEM Chinese 3000mah extended crapttery.

i said around 10mm thick
and you do realize the only way to have more mah on a battery is to increase its size

It has been now more than a month since Kaiser came out and then AT&T Tilt etc. and so far there has not been a single credible announcement for an extended battery for Kaiser. Does anybody know if there is one out there?
I found a 1600mah battery here that is supposedly the same size as the OEM 1350mah one.
Posted about it in the Main Kaiser forum.
The specs all match up with OEM Kaiser battery..
3.7V, for Device Part # KAIS160...
These folks: http://www.seidio.com/ are supposed to be working on one.
Searching, I saw this ad this evening:
http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-42624.html
There is no description of it however and they have a long text to go with it which they have for all their batteries...it does sound interesting though.

What is the capacity of the battery going to be? Is it going to need a new cover in the back? Will the keyboard lay flat on a table after the new cover (assume it will need one) goes on?

OEM sized means that it's the same size as the original so they fit under the stock battery cover. My guess would be around 1500mah - their other OEM sized batteries appear to be about 10% high capacity than the originals...

I bought an extended battery for my 8525. The extended cover is NOT worth the extended battery life IMO. It made the phone a small brick.
It was ugly, heavy, ruined the design, and kinf of cheap. I would recommend going as high as possible while still retaining the current battery backing.

did the extended battery door break your case? i mean did it not if in whatever case you were using after you added the new battery door? i cant tell exactly how much it adds to the device.

No, absolutly not. Voltage of battery is technology depended, not capacity depended. Morever, it could be risky to device running on voltage higher than designed - and, last but not least - it could cause higher power consumption.
Has anyone tried the batteries yet? if so, please can you guys post the results?

Could you please let us know where you got it from? I have searched but have not been able to find anything bigger than 1600 in the market. I do not mind the brick style problem! If you could give us the website, it would be really appreciated.

Finally, an extended battery for the tilt.
I stumbled across this website http://www.talkietech.com/htcat89ti24e.html. It's thicker than the Seido's standard battery but it's a 2800mAh and it comes with a back cover.
I wish there could be a way to findout if the design is OEM with these newly available battery from 3rd party vendor.
I'm more concern with the metal plate & the 4 corner contact points like the original battery ... it is designed that way for a reason !!!

I bought this one. So far it works great. Same size as the OEM battery, no new cover needed. The batteries are made in Hong Kong. They ship from HK and take at least a week.

The 1600 ones have about 20% more battery life, according to users. You can't expect something for nothing - if you want a dramatic increase, you need a dramatically larger battery.

Ummm, batteries are not a magical thing that you can just get any amount of power into any size battery. If you want more power, you have to accept more bulk and weight. Consider Seidio's upgrade, OEM sized, battery. Stock battery = 1350 mAh; seido upgrade = 1600 mAh. Of course Seidio is going to pack as much juice into an UPGRADE battery as possible and they only could put in 250 mAh more. If you want more power, you will have to have more bulk, which means a battery sticking out the back with a new cover. As most consumers are very concerned about the bulk of their mobile phone, it would not be a good move for stock batteries to be this huge.
No offense, but "at least 8hrs of Talk time" is just an unrealistic request, unless you are ok with a battery that is just as big as the device itself. If you are okay with that, then great, except there probably will not be such a battery available to buy.
fitted case for battery "ass"
it'd be great if there was a fitted case that would take in count the extra battery "ass". (as ilordvader puts it).
Who here has the Fatter Battery ?
Can you tell me how much Talk time you getting on it ?
Thank you
I notice that the 2800mah battery I got last only about the same as my DynaPack. I've only used it 3 days and have been charging it overnight every night. Are your extended battery last as long as it should. I mean like 2x the OEM battery.

I ordered a 2800 from ebay for cheap. It supposedly had the back plate. But they shipped a 2600, no backplate. So far battery life is equal to or marginally better than stock.
I'd reccomend sticking with the good brands and oem specs.
The GSII battery fits in and works with the Note. At least the battery from the AT&T and international versions of the GSII does. When looking at the back of your phone, inserting the battery all the way to the left and up allows the contacts to connect properly and all of the extra space is to the right and below. There's ~.230" of space to the right and ~.334" of space at the bottom. The GSII battery has 4 contacts, but the Note only has 3 terminals. I don't know what the 4th contact is for on the GSII battery, but it works just fine in the Note without being connected.
I cut some strips of cardboard, glued them together, cut a rectangle of thick paper, glued the cardboard stacks to the paper, then applied a layer of clear packing tape over the paper and cardboard stacks. Now I have a spacer to use with the GSII battery for taking up the extra space. The cardboard I used was ~.06" thick, the paper was ~.010" thick, and the glue was super glue. I cut strips ~2" long x .2" wide and stacked 6 of them for the bottom spacer and 5 of them for the side spacer.
See the pics for more clarity.
Ha ha i was coming on to check for something like this. Does the note battery work on the gs2 as wrll?
*ok i jumped the gun without looking at pics my bad.
Would have been insane battery life for the gs2 if it did tho.

agree...I use this one and it works great, better than carrying an extra battery and changing the batteries:
http://www.energizerpowerpacks.com/au/products/xp4001/
Back in my Pre-iPhone days I used to just keep a charged battery in my car for those longer days. After a while it may have only had 60% left(since I did not need it everyday), but that's enough just to hold you over when your first battery is abut to die! That's how I use my Mophie Air Case right now....I HATE those external batteries you have to plug up(like the one linked to above). If its going to be like that, I want it in a case so I can still pocket the damn thing(like the mophie).
I found extra Note battery's!

Has anyone measured the S4 battery or know where I can find the dimensions? I searched for awhile and couldn't find anything. I carry around an extra S3 battery in my wallet and am wondering if the larger S4 battery will fit.
Thanks ahead of time.

2600mAh battery Samsung GS4 images
Since these are the dimensions, I'm guessing the battery might be around 2.5" x 2.5" x 0.2".
The S4 battery is wider than the S3's.
Thanks for your help!

Samsung released a larger 3000 mAh battery for the GS3 recently. Doesn't add much additional thickness either, maybe 1.5mm. We at Diztronic made a case to fit around the extended battery too.
Any suggestions for extended battery to increase battery capacity. I heard about zero lemon but they don't manufacture any more.
This 8400mAh with confirmed working NFC coil has replaced the 7500 from a few years back.
But unlike that 7500mAh thicc boi battery, requiring its own special battery bumped back door housing, this one is near stock size and uses the OG batt door!
Performs about the same as 7500
