Has anyone measured the S4 battery or know where I can find the dimensions? I searched for awhile and couldn't find anything. I carry around an extra S3 battery in my wallet and am wondering if the larger S4 battery will fit.
Thanks ahead of time.

This might help:
2600mAh battery Samsung GS4 images
Since these are the dimensions, I'm guessing the battery might be around 2.5" x 2.5" x 0.2".
The S4 battery is wider than the S3's.
Thanks for your help!

Samsung released a larger 3000 mAh battery for the GS3 recently. Doesn't add much additional thickness either, maybe 1.5mm. We at Diztronic made a case to fit around the extended battery too.

I just thought I'd let give a brief review of my experience with some of the cheap batteries and accessories that can be found on eBay for the Epic. I bought a $22 set that came with the following:
extra battery
car windshield mount(for google nav)
car charger
home charger
usb cord
extra battery charger
belt-clip case
I was a little skeptical given the price, but figured 22 was worth a gamble. In the end i have to say, while the products, other than the battery, are a little cheap feeling, they all work great. The batteries performed just as good if not BETTER (although probably the placebo effect) than the one that came with the phone.
Just wanted to share my experience so others might save a few bucks to get some decent accessories.
Cheers
I also think the batteries are worth the modest cost. In my experience, they basically work. But I have seen credible reports that they might test out at a lower capacity than claimed -- 1200 maH vs the 1500 maH nominal rating. The quality can vary from unit to unit.
One other caveat, I think, is that switching batteries with mismatched capacities might confuse the calibration of the battery meter on the phone. So the percentage reported, which is really an estimate based on empirical measures of voltage and temperature, may be a little off.
But compared to the high price of an OEM spare, the knockoffs seem like a thinkable method to mitigate battery issues.
There was another post about this somewhere I think......I said that I had two sets of these cheapies. Months later and I feel that they're just ok...they (in my case at least and after using them for more than a month) will last about 75% of the standard Sammy batt. All in all, I'm happy with them for the money. There have been times where I've flashed myself crazy at work and these things got me thru the day

Is there a extended battery for the epic yet?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I believe that seido (sp?) Is in the works of making one but i have no idea if its out yet or how it will affect the back of the phone

I'll have to look into that. I know they have the custom back doors but don't know If I'd silk be able to use my case with my epic.

I have bought the cheap ones on ebay for my EVO before. It was 2 batteries and the battery charger. They seemed to work really well for only $12. I was able to heavily use my phone and get through the day without having to worry about battery life.
I just bought two batteries, a battery charger, and 3 screen protectors for $10. They're shipping but I hope they're just as good. I hate monitoring my battery and worrying about shutting stuff off when I'm not using it.
my results have been mixed. I have three epics and got a bunch of spare battereis from several ebay vendors.
First, the are all counterfeit. They are not bulk pack g9 or g7.
The g7s I got have labels that say samsung. Their wight is perceivable less than the stock battery. They are max 1200 mah, and three of four (the vendor sent me two replacements) will report "battery is not connected" meaning the difference is substantial enough for the Epic to sense it and not charge it, although they work with standalone charger.
The otehr ones I got weigh the correct amount, but say in a tiny font "for" right before the samsung logo. In other words the label is a counterfeit use of samsung logo, desinged to trick the buyer who doesn't see the tiny "for" in an ebay picture. They also seem to be no more than 1200 mah.
all in all having a few spare 1200 ma and a charger for $10 isn't bad for several spare battery uses, I don't think they will harm the phone. But you are not getting a steal on the real deal.
The GSII battery fits in and works with the Note. At least the battery from the AT&T and international versions of the GSII does. When looking at the back of your phone, inserting the battery all the way to the left and up allows the contacts to connect properly and all of the extra space is to the right and below. There's ~.230" of space to the right and ~.334" of space at the bottom. The GSII battery has 4 contacts, but the Note only has 3 terminals. I don't know what the 4th contact is for on the GSII battery, but it works just fine in the Note without being connected.
I cut some strips of cardboard, glued them together, cut a rectangle of thick paper, glued the cardboard stacks to the paper, then applied a layer of clear packing tape over the paper and cardboard stacks. Now I have a spacer to use with the GSII battery for taking up the extra space. The cardboard I used was ~.06" thick, the paper was ~.010" thick, and the glue was super glue. I cut strips ~2" long x .2" wide and stacked 6 of them for the bottom spacer and 5 of them for the side spacer.
See the pics for more clarity.
Ha ha i was coming on to check for something like this. Does the note battery work on the gs2 as wrll?
*ok i jumped the gun without looking at pics my bad.
Would have been insane battery life for the gs2 if it did tho.

Do you guys know where one could pick up extra GNote batteries? Possibly a charger that can externally charge the battery?

agree...I use this one and it works great, better than carrying an extra battery and changing the batteries:
http://www.energizerpowerpacks.com/au/products/xp4001/
Back in my Pre-iPhone days I used to just keep a charged battery in my car for those longer days. After a while it may have only had 60% left(since I did not need it everyday), but that's enough just to hold you over when your first battery is abut to die! That's how I use my Mophie Air Case right now....I HATE those external batteries you have to plug up(like the one linked to above). If its going to be like that, I want it in a case so I can still pocket the damn thing(like the mophie).
I found extra Note battery's!

So I just bought this wireless charging dock last night: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=400461623073
And thought that this is all I would need in order to charge my battery. However, Now I'm worried I will need a battery door. Does anyone know git certain whether or not I will need a different battery door to use wireless charging (currently using the one that came out of the box) if so, where would I be able to find one at? Thanks in advance!

Samsung is releasing a battery door that's compatible. They haven't set a release date for it yet though.

Don't need to get a new battery door. That new Samsung door will actually be larger than the current one. Some/many cases won't fit.
Get this instead - wireless receiver that fits inside the stock battery door:

I pre-ordered the one for the S4, after it was written up on Engadget. It hasn't been released yet, apparently, so I'm still waiting.
Here's the Engadget article. Some good things said about it in the comments:
http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/10/monster-watts-wiqiqi-slips-wireless-charging-into-samsung-galaxy/
The order site says that it will ship by May 31:

Well, I just bought it. Will review it when I receive it on the 31st.
I just went ahead and bought a $10 s3 qi receiver, hoping it will work but if not it isn't too much money down the drain. Will let you guys know how it works

I ordered a kit as well.
I hope it lives up to the hype.
Will report.

Samsung is terrible with the S4 accessories.. they release a new battery cover just to enable wireless charging.. ok fine.. but they release a stupid 70bux transparent flip cover that doesn't support wireless charging.. so basically i can never get wireless charging if i ever want to use their oem products or i need a special case if i want to use their oem wireless charging cover and fit?? real smart thinking.. guess i'll give this kit a try too
I thought it was the battery it self that has a coil in it for the NFC and that was for charging?
if not I have my palm pre still that has that wireless charging - could I take that battery cover apart and take that coil out and just attach it to the inside of the phone
I dont see anywhere where a battery cover with this built in will connect inside like it does on the palm pre, there arent any contacts that I can see that will go to the battery charting how would this work

Are you sure you are looking at a GS4?
There are 4 contacts. 2 to the left and 2 to the right of the flash. I think the left ones are for charging. I am basically ready to do what you said but need to figure out the polarity of these contacts.
There are other related threads but no responses yet...

To the guy worrying about the flip cover - there are tons of wireless charging inserts on eBay. You don't need the Samsung back, just get one of those things and stick it under the cover.
Cheers.

I'm using S3 kit and my friend is using notes2 kit from them, (receiver and charging pad) and have just ordered this receiver to use in S4
You can put a wireless charging receiver card inside your S4. Now it is a very pop way to charge your phone. If you need any technical help, please PM me.

I'm hoping yours worked. I've had a qi receiver in my S3 for about 6 months now. I pulled it out to see if it would work in my S4 and it doesn't quite fit. The pad would fit, but it lays over the sim card and mSdcard, which probably wouldn't be a big deal, but the problem is the two small brass contacts don't quite fit in the square charging holes on the s4, they're probably 0.25mm too large and slightly to far apart for the S4.
My S3 pad is about 6 months old though, so hopefully the newer s3 pads have been modified to work with both phones.
I love wireless charging though and just went ahead and ordered a qi pad for my s4 from the fastech link earlier in this thread.

Thanks for the response, unfortunately, the S3 Receiver was too bulky and wouldn't allow the door to shut.
This is what I bought and seems to work perfectly

Does the part you place in the phone get hot? Causing NFC or other issues?
I've read the other battery thread and users are reporting that the Galaxy S3 battery fits into the S4 albeit with a little gap on the right side of the battery compartment.
The galaxy s3 has a official 3000mah extended battery. I was wondering if anyone knows it would fit into the S4 without having to use a extended battery cover.
Basically, measuring the sizes of the S3 extended battery and the S4 original stock battery would give a good indication.
1 thing to note is that the s4 is 7.9mm and the extenend battery makes the galaxy s3 +10mm so even if the battery fits the back door won't even close

10mm thicker? That doesn't sound right.
I'm referring to the Official 3000mah battery by Samsung, not the OEM Chinese 3000mah extended crapttery.

i said around 10mm thick
and you do realize the only way to have more mah on a battery is to increase its size

Hi, I have a standalone battery charger for my Galaxy S3 spare battery. Is the S4 battery going to be similar in width and depth so it would fit in my S3 battery charger?
The charger looks like the attached pic.
It's about 5 millimeters large each side, so I don't think so man sorry!
