android has changed storage mount points.
/mnt/sdcard is the internal card
/storage/extSdCard is sdcard
I have been looking at, init.* files and fstab without success, it seems it works a little differently than previous android versions. so if anyone has a solution for this that would be appreciated.
also with root now enabled on our S4s comes the ability to install system apps.
I attached a photo; I was trying to install this app, which I assume will be installed to system partition.
it seems I have run out of space there.
my normal storage points have space as shown..
so I think my questions for this thread would be:
how do I swap extSdCard and sdcard?
is it possible to expand internal partition?
would it not be better to remove all internal partitions and have all system, dev ect.. within main user partition (except recovery... of course) to make full use of the space? then just mount extSdCard as /storage/sdcard

Sorry but all apps like apps2sd and foldermount no longer work as:
Apps2sd move apps to /mnt/sdcard
Foldermount seems to have an issue mounting if there are subdirectories within mount point, which is understandable, but as Android/obb wont allow me to delete it, its impossible to use for what I suggested.

Hi guys
This motorola flipout mb511 is my first android phone , as a new user I am just getting to know the terminology.
Can some one please guide me through the steps on how to root my phone so I can move my apps to an sd card.
My firmware is version 2.1 , I have been reading the forums to see how to update this but I havent seen anywhere that it can be done yet .
as a new user please feel free with any recommendations you may have.
greatly appricated
Rooting is really a must, currently there is no official or unnoficial update for the flipout. I belive i rooted with super one click method (google it) but I did it so long ago i can only be 90% sure. As to installing non market apps (which you will most likely need to do for rooting) the easy way is to install the" sideload enabler" from motorola on the market and enable unknown sources, the hard way is using android debug bridge from your computer. Once you get it rooted i would parition the sd card and use link2sd to adress the low internal storage on the flipout. After that there are tons of great tweaks to do with root like blocking ads, overclocking, and changing transition or boot animations good luck.
If you have any problems iKd be happy to help out

Thanks for your reply
I used "super one click method " and rooted the phone.
I installed link2sd.
How do i partition the sd card and transfer apps etc
I formated my micro sd card into two partitions , both fat32
when i try to move some apps to the sd card i am getting any error message
" Mount script error
mount:no such device
ext 3 may not be supported on your device . Try Fat32 on the second partition"
Are you sure that you made both fat32 partitions primary? I think could be it

I rooted my phone and I partitioned my sd card into 2 partitions , both FAT32 primary 3.7GB and when i open link2sd and select either ext 2 or ext 3 I get an error message
"Mount scrip error
Mount scripe cannot be created.
mount: no such device
ext 2 may not be supported on your device. Try FAt32 on the second partition"
Has anyone come accross this problem before ?
when I ran app2sd i scrolled down and selected fat32 so its working perfectly now .
Thanks for all your help
I tried to search, but found no answer...
Yesterday I rooted my stock NC with MN5.08.20. I finally decided today to flash cm7.2 (which seems to be stable, judging after the forum discussions) to fully "unleash the FORCE" of my NC because I'm very angry: I cannot fully use the /data folder. I mean, I can put there my books/music, but I can't read them. So, I have only one issue not solved yet: will I be able to fully use the 5GB of internal storage with cm7.2? Is there a menu/option or a box to check which allows mounting the internal storage as visible and usable? Will I be able to read the books deposited there?
Or does the cm7.2 repartition the device with 1gb /data and 5gb /media? If not, please recommend me a ROM which does this thing.
Please answer me!
Thanks in advance!

CM7 does not re-partition anything. You are a little confused about /data and /media. All books and other media must be stored on the /media (emmc in CM terms) or on your sdcard. /data is only used for storing applications. So if you are using a root file manager to put books there, no application on any ROM will be able to read them.
The older Nook Colors had a different partition scheme than the newer ones. They had 1GB /data and 5GB /media. The newer ones have them reversed so that more application space and less media space is available. Dean Gibson has a thread in the general forum that tells you how to repartition the newer Nooks back to the old scheme. So, if you have the newer Nook and you want more internal media space go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14101197
thanks a lot
Already read the thread... But how do I do the MANDATORY REBOOT INTO RECOVERY? Do i have to reboot from cwm, let the device boot completely, open ROM Manager and select REBOOT INTO RECOVERY?
CWM is recovery. Some cwm activities require a reboot and you want to get back to cwm to do the next required step. That's why there is a reboot recovery command in cwm. Otherwise, just get to CWM and you are in recovery. Unless, of course, you are using TWRP, in which case, TWRP is recovery.
Hi,
i own a rooted GT 8000-N (no custom rom, just rooted, so far) and i use Titanium Backup (what else?). However, i have 16 GB internal space and a 16 GB SD-Card. I know, that TB had an option to move single apps / application data to SD-Card. My Tab doesnt have these options.
I've read some threads and i heard, that this isnt possible with the installed Android 4.1.2.
I have no idea (i'm a "casual" user, not stupid but unexperienced lol) and i really appreciate any help.
search for zedomax apps to sd
I have been using OmniROM KitKat on my Galaxy S2 for a while with no problems. I've recently had a GPS issue (still don't know the cause but that's another issue for another day) so decided to update my ROM to the latest nightly. The update went well, but then I found that I could not access any of my apps that had been copied using Link2SD.
I had created an EXT3 partition on my SD card and linked all files onto there using Link2SD. It had been working perfectly before but the update had obviously changed something in my system. When I run Link2SD, I get the following message:
mount: Device or resource busy
Googling this it looks like the partition is already mounted (a2sd?) or some scripts are missing. (Link2SD still has root permissions) I've had a look in init.d but can't see anything remiss, though I'm moving out of my comfort zone here.
Can anyone tell me what I should do next? Do I need to delete and recreate the EXT3 partition, copying the data back on to it? Would uninstalling and reinstalling Link2SD help, or would that cause even more trouble?
Finally, if I do another ROM update, what should I do to stop this happening again?
Thanks for your help.
I've had some success with this. I reformatted the partition to be FAT32 and Link2SD accepted this and created the necessary mount links. I then copied the files (apk etc) back onto the partition and everything is working again.
Now is FAT32 a good option for this partition or is it best to use EXT?

Love my Note 10.1, but was getting annoyed with the restrictions on moving files to SD. I have rooted my LG phone and used AParted and Link2SD to get around its storage issues. I'd like to do something similar with the Note but I have some Q's.
The tablet is rooted as of last night and Link2SD installed. I was hoping to have more options to "Move to SD" for some apps I have installed, but I don't. Or some apps that were moved before root only moved token files over to SD.
Should I move those back over to device, then moved them over wiht the new rooted status and will it move more over?
I'm planning on replacing my 16g card with a 32 g card, then using AParted to create an ext2 part and then I'll be able to create links to maximized my storage. How much should I reserve for system installations? 16gb? 20gb?
Thanks, any other Link2SD tips would be appreciated.
