Sweet! The work you guys have done is honestly the only thing that kept me from switching to an Incredible.
Any word on the release date on the next version?

Until then you can always use a program called "Smart Bar" that can be downloaded from the market

I used to have an Incredible, which was nice. However, I am way happier with the X even though Motorola didn't make it hacker-friendly. It's amazing what the dev's have been able to do with the device despite the naysayers
anyone attempting this?

Try reading the thread? Maybe?
It's tough, guys. I'm pretty new at this level of coding, especially the smali coding needed for this, and the overall porting to this screwy framework. I've been reading and researching, and am gunna take my first few cracks at it tonight.

my dev time has slowed cause finals are coming up, and i've been studying a lot. it's something i'm probably just going to try to incorporate into my aosp build, it'll be easier that way.

Hey drod,
First of all, good luck on your finals. As eager as I am to see another release of rubiX from you, your coursework must come first.
Second, this sounds fantastic!

This is a brilliant idea if you can figure out the framework. Had it on my Incredible and it's just such a great place for the toggles.
Best of luck getting it into Fission -- great ROM regardless.
We'll was grabbing some code out of google git repository today and came by this. Sure looks like a Nexus S with Wimax code being this close to the 8th should be any day now for all of it.

whats a source ?
thanks though don't know if I can edit titles on this forum but I'll try. If not can a mod fix this please
stupid spelling
edit : fixed thanks for pointing it out
yea 2.3.4 added some of the modules its not everything but its a start
kinda surprising they are gonna use the same kernal since there will be a lot of extra crap in it we don't need and a lot the standard nexus s won't need.
theres a lot of extra crap that the nexus doesnt need but the nexus s does.. yet they share the same stuff
We'll once the final code is released (if this isn't it already) I may have to try and find the time to do some cleanup. From my experience extra code in the kernel can slow things down quite a bit especially when in USB OTG mode.
i get my Nexus activated Sunday.. giving my Epic to my girlfriend..
HELLOOOO GOOGLE
wait... this is a good thing right? we get the ns4g code and we might have some similar hardware with it... including wimax right?

And it's no fault of our Devs so im not complaining about them they have done a great job ...with what they have
correct anyone that feels that way needs to do some research and try for themselves. Android is not as difficult as it looks.

After the release of DeadMau5 Audio Visualizer I began work on how to improve it and along the way I created this wallpaper which uses techniques I learned and planned to incorporate into DeadMau5 Audio Visualizer (I have a beta out already). Its a beta release and still lacks in visuals, but usable. Check it and let me know what you think.
Edit: Source and latest APK can be found on BitBucket.

I went ahead and released it onto the market. It's almost identical to v0.8, so if you would like to support further development of it, feel free to purchase it from the market! I will continue to release beta builds in this thread so people can stay up to date with it if they do not get it from the market.

Got around to putting the license on every file as is necessary and released the source code, here. You can find the APK(source>bin) for the latest build there, currently the same as the market version(been busy with DeadMau5 AV).

Hey guys, I have been reading through this site, http://developer.android.com/training/index.html and I plan to go through the classes and build my first app. I was wondering what the more experienced folks here think of the site.
Thanks for the heads up . Didn't really take a good look yet. But it seems interesting.
At a glance it seems like a good idea. Even if its not the greatest tool, it should be a great starting point. Might hafta look into that some more ...

Without going into a lot of details, the info I've gotten points to Linux making things a lot easier when doing Dev work.

It depends on what the dev work is specifically, what your target platform is and the specific tools available for each platform.
As far as android application development, the tools are cross-platform and from my 'minimal' experience I have yet to come across any development quirks that would point me towards using one platform over another.
Use what you are comfortable with most.

well I've been trying to follow this http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/26/ho...om-for-android-part-1-setting-up-the-kitchen/ to learn to use DsiXDA's kitchen and I'm having trouble figuring out how to download to install the java files ubuntu requires. ubuntu seems prety cool but I'm kind of stuck until I get this going. It seems like the more I read the less I know... It's quite a bit discouraging.
Its a learning process for sure. Just have to forget windows and read alot.
