The Oppo Find 5 is now officially supported by the PA-team, so our Oppo Find 5 will be succesfull! Now our Oppo Find 5 will get hopefully more support from other devs.
So my question is: Do you like Paranoid Android for the Oppo Find 5?
Leave a comment below!
It's pretty damn good IMO. Granted, it's in the beginning stages but I'm actually going to use it for my daily and see how it goes. I know Aaron said the camera doesn't work currently but not a deal breaker for me as I don't take a lot of pics. It's taking a little getting used to being that the OPPO has the buttons at the bottom so even if you have PIE enabled, the bottom buttons still function. The new Halo feature seems to be working pretty well so that's a plus.
All in all though, I'm pretty stoked to say the least.
Yes please
Haven't tried it out yet, I'll hop on it when they fix the camera and Halo is released as Beta.
Currently using the latest Firefly build, which is actually quite nice if you ask me...
Yea I'm going to make a thread when I get home today, I can add the option to disable the soft keys. The hybrid properties in there are something I did quickly. I can set up better defaults. I know where the camera is broken but don't have time to fix it till late next week

First off, thanks! I was just wondering if there will be a way to disable the hard keys? I know in the stock Oppo rom you can at least disable the backlighting of the keys? I came from a Nexus 4 and would love to be able to "disable" the hardware keys and just use pie.

Nice dude. Will give it a run once camera runs to test out the smoothness and battery life compared to nightly cm10.1

My F5 is in transit and all the options for this phone make me coocoo for cocoa puffs. I cant wait!
Paranoid Android is def my favorite rom Paranoid Android is going to be sick on the OF5 and yes you can just use the keys and keep the entire screen, like HTC Roms. CM10.1 or whatever new build they have out is always great also. The more roms the better, Oppo needs to get this phone out in all countries that would bring in more devs and even if they lowered the price, the price is already low for an a device that has everything already unlocked out of the box. And a company that inspires this type of freedom with your device. Oppo is almost like do what you want its yours you paid for it, attitude! Thats what I like.
I like it but..
I will get difficulty choosing between CM-bare, PA and AOKP. Thhere's also the PAC-rom that is announced today.
I think I will stick with the CM untill PA has the camera fixed.
Definitly trying this!!
Loving PA on my Find 5, my only request is they implement this ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcq_p6Gjwl8
BTW for those that want to manually disable the capacitive keys and led lights here is what you need to do.
To turn of capacitive button lights:
Go to system/lib/hw
There find lights.find5.so
Rename it to "lights" or anything.
Reboot.
To restore just rename it to lights.pico.so again and reboot.
To turn off capacitive buttons:
Go to system/usr/key layout/synaptics-rmi-ts.kl
Long press it and click open with text editor
Delete everything there
Reboot.
To restore , restore the backup of the file which is automatically created

Does it change screen colours like PA does on the Nexus 4?
I've been running ReVolt, which has PA and some other stuff. It's been a very nice ROM thus far with no major issues.
Camera works for pictures (haven't confirmed image quality yet). Video works but the quality is bad. Gonna hop over and post on that and see if Johny can lend a hand there.

I'd also like to know that..My Find has a yellowish white and a little washed out colours compared to my halfbreed Nexus 4..
perfect for me
This is my favourite ROM from all that I have tried and probably because I find the flexibility of changing app dpi the most SIMPLE UI is a winner
It is perfect when combined with xposed framework and just grabbing modules to enhance the experience
fantastic rom and kudos for all those working on modules to make life simple when it comes to customising

Well, neldar and morfic of xda have done it, there is now a working back light notification for the Nexus s! morfic has included it in his latest kernels, Honity12 and Honity14. but, you do need the BLN control market app to make it work. there is a free version and a pro version in the market, i recommend the pro version. it has much more options, including controlling the speed of the blink. heres a video demo of BLN on my nexus s--> http://goo.gl/tUcD6
also, heres morfics Honity thread, download links for the kernels are in the op--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973125

Cool it works. So pretty much we have to buy the pro version if we want it to be useful at all? Right now when I get a notification it turns on the button LEDs for like 2 seconds then turns off, and that's it, doesn't keep pulsing...
wait for this since i bought this phone now its perfect!!

yea, you do need the pro app to get the full features. on the free app, itll blink again(like every minute or so), just not right away.
thanks for the heads up! I guess it's time to change kernels for the first time for my nexus s. Didn't see the need to in the past, as I don't really need more speed.
backing up CM7_RC2 right now, and getting ready to flash the kernel and buy the BLN app
edit: sorry to go off topic, but does anyone know of anyway I can make notification sounds repeat like they did on NoLED?
can you control what icon will be shown
WOW sounds great
Question
Can i control it to the level that -
SMS will light the HOME botton
Mail will light the SEARCH botton
MISSED CALL will light both BACK & HOME bottons
??
Well, I'm using this kernel and it seems to be causing issues where the capacitive buttons are unresponsive on screen unlock. I think morfic is trying to fix this. I seem to have stumbled across a work around that I can't post on the developer thread(being "new" and all). Don't know whether anyone else has mentioned it.
If I leave the BLN test notification in my notification bar alone. Then the issue doesn't crop up any more and my buttons and BLN feature work fine.
Sorry, scratch that. That was a bit premature. The issue is back when I leave a notification unattended and lock my screen. My bad.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
sadly not for all nexus s user
I've found a bug with the kernel where if on keylock you touch the shortcut buttons. Once you do that they light up and it doesn't fade away, only happens when I take it out my pocket. Also sometimes the buttons when unlock done illuminate and aren't clickable resulting in a restart.
Has anyone else seen this? If not it might be down to my set up.
Same problems here. You might want to try morfics s10 BLN v3 test kernel.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
BLN is very buggy. when charging the phone and getting a notification it will cause the phone to freeze or reboot. Also when getting a notification and unlocking the phone the cap buttons will not always light. Locking and unlocking the phone will fix this problem but not always.
Even after uninstalling BLN, the cap button weirdeness persists. Only way to fix it is to restore from a backup or install a new ROM. I'm using CM7 11 w/ honity12 at stock speeds.
When BLN works its awesome. Hopefully they can fix these problems before I install it again.

Actually, what you need to do is use another kernel (which coincidentally happens when you restore a backup or install another ROM).
So does the backlight notification work if I just purchase the pro app from the market or do I need to install the kernel? I plan to install Og's kernel with voodoo features so I was wondering.. can multiple kernel be installed? No right?

You can only have one kernel at a time.
It's a pity it only works with some ROMs, I like to cook my own ones making them as tiny as possible, removing unused apps and changing ringtones and notification sound for my own ones
As long as you're basing your cooked ROM on a ROM that has a BLN-enabled kernel, you can use that kernel.
For example, if your ROM is basically a CM7 with some modifications, you can use any CM7-compatible kernel and it should work.

Problem is the ROM I like to use is a very stock one with some modifications done with dsixda's kitchen.
I'll start reading about kernels and how to change them, maybe I can combine my ROM with that kernel
This is still a WIP, camera is100% working so is video.
I added the Miui gallery apk to the list. I can confirm it works on CM7 as of now. If someone wants to test on stock blur builds let me know the outcome.
I see a lot of people complaining about the stock CM7 gallery so giver a shot.
If you get a chance THANK Mongoosehelix for his hard work. I just brought the app to our table but he is the one doing all the hard work!!!
Hopefully this modified version he has will work. MIUI cam is by far my favorite.
My girlfriend has an Inspire running CM7. When I put CM7 on her phone she was greatly disappointed in the stock CM7 camera app. I put the MIUI cam app on her Inspire and she loves it. I have to admit the app is great and has alot of great functions that most ROM cameras dont.
The MIUI cam offers a few options the droid 3 cam does not ie: Burst mode, anti shake, and a nice quick continuous auto focus. I have been playing with them side by side and i have to say the MIUI cam seems to do a better job overall. Images seem richer and a tad crisper.
The app needs a little DEV TLC still, but all camera functions working. Video works, just not sure of its resolution.
I am not a dev and I just like to play around try to get things working that dont lol. Well this worked out of the box to my surprise. Give it a shot and report back what you think.
If you have both the droid 3 and miui installed you have to back out of the app not just hit home or either cam app icon will revert to one last used, unless you back out then you can go back and forth. No FC or errors.
Focus tone still exists when long pressing picure button. Mute for the shutter tone works on CM7. Blur builds require the build.prop edit below.
Blur build shutter tone removal build.prop edit---

MIUICamfixed.apk--->http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24110240/Camera.apk

The video is being saved as a 3gp so no, but i am sure a clever dev out there can tweak this working MIUI cam to do more with the atrix hardware, but tahts outta my league. I think the only benefit in its current state is just the added picture options for the camera. I havent had anytime to work on this any further as i am at work and already doing stuff i shouldnt be doing lol.
can you change where the images are stored?
Its for picking the location you wish to store the files, but considering this isnt designed for our hardware it doesnt know what to do i think. By default it saves to internal DCIM folder. There are still a few minor bugs to work out, but for the most part all camera functions are working. I hope a dev can take this and build upon it to make it 100% functional, it will stay as is for the next day or two. Im off 3 days in a row so that will give me time to dive into the inner workings and tweak it a little.
I wanted to get this out so others with a little more know how could improve it before my slow ass can get to it. I just wanted to share because i think its one of the best camera apps out there.
Just for ****s and giggles I tried it on cm7 pb3 it opens and I can see the whole ui set up and when I click to take a picture it flashes but doesn'tsave the picture(exact same thing with stock cm7 camera at the moment) so hopefully when thise wrinkles get ironed out mui camera should work for cm7 also. *crosses fingers*

Yup thats the same wall i got too with it as well, i then decided its something to do with CM7 and hardware. Its there and working as an app in CM7 just cant access the hardware completely or something along those lines
I like it, but I can't get it to turn off the shutter sound.
as soon as my apt-get update completes on webtop, i'll reboot and test it out on Aura 1.1.3 Build 8 Debloat.

as with the others, shutter tone would not silence, no option to choose storage location, other than that i love it, might be a keeper
Works great on aura. I downloaded the .apk and simply installed it with the package installer! It even saves the picture size that you last selected. Forget the droid one, I like this one.

FFC support and im switching!
I'm glad the the v17_Fixed2 version is working pretty well for you all and if you want to install it using a flashable zip, follow the link in my sig. Also, I'm curious if the v17_TEST1 version I posted HERE works any better for the Atrix. Other phones have been able to switch to and use their FFC as well with TEST1.
I dont know if anyone else is in the same boat and hates the se theme, and wants a fully working Rom based off the stock vzw one but I sure do. That's why in making this thread to build a list of features and mod people would want for said Rom. Then if I can get enough support and help I (or someone who knows how to to this better as I never have) can make it. So please post what you would like to see or if you can offer some support. Thanks.

The list is as follows so far.
[WIP]Notification power widget
[ ]Power menu reboot options
[ ]Power menu screen shot
[x]App2sd
[ ]Xloud
[ ]theme chooser support (longshot here)
[x]Bravia Mobile Engine
[ ]Long-press trigger buttons for media (L - previous song, R- next song)
I'd like the above, but I really just want an ICS theme.
Most of what is listed is doable. I am watching this thread to gauge interest.
I know it can be done just not entirely sure how its done, later I'm going to compare my systemui.ak with the modded gsm fw ones that don't work and see if I can add it in. And also so far the list is only stuff I had on the top of my head.

The SystemUI.apk should be the easy part. It decompiles with ApkManager without issues. I was already looking to add this to mine. The harder part is the screenshot.
I also would love everything bladestonez mentioned, and if it could be on a cdma compliant 2.3.4+ build, I'd be ecstatic.
Highest priority would be aps2sd, for me, then the notification power widget, etc, etc.
Are there any camera mods to enable panoramic pictures?
I've seen scteenshot mods for UK roms before so now just to do digging

ok well im about 99% positive that i have fount what makes the notification power widget mod work and have tried to add it to the cdma SystemUI.apk but when i compile it wont include the additions its like you can modify things and it works but you cant add them. i have included a zip that should only need to be extracted and merged with a decompiled SystemUI.apk then compiled if anyone can get this added i would love you forever. also if you do get this added would you please pm me the modified SystemUI.apk or attach it to a post in here.

Ontopic: some of those sugestions like autobrightness and wifi switching on automatically are just bugs, DZO will fix them.
wish list for huawei u8800 aka x5
My sugestions for Aurora ICS from dzo are:
- adding the x5 settings like the one in miui rom(for we can set the cpu governor and frequency);
- correct model and manufacturer;
- add file explorer like the one in miui (for we dont have to download from the market);
- choose music for ringtones without addons.
The rest is excellent i guess.
Note: The databe io test in antutu is very low.
I went back for miui 2.2.17 until this will be resolved or cm9 ou some miui ics comes up.
Best Regards.
thanks for your reply. I will arrange the list and post dzo's page in a few days.
I wonder what the difference between 5.0.2.7 and 5.0.2.6.
When I put the 5.0.2.7, the pc recognizes the mobile phone as U8800PRO.
It's a very strange thing, or my lack of knowledge.
Can someone explain.
But apart from this, it works normally, only a few freezes.

Lots of good ideas. I would like to post my thoughts in the development thread, but I don't have enough posts to do it. So I do it here instead. I have a few issues.
1. something is strange with wifi/data. when trying to download from market, it's terribly slow. when on data it takes forever before downloading starts. when on wifi it downloads really slow. like 20kb/s on a 5 mbit connection. also when connecting to wifi, it disconnected and connected 5 times before the connection stayed up.
2. there is no light on the touch buttons (back menu home search).
3. even though I have turned the volume all the way down for ring/alert, it's still too loud.
4. battey drains fast. much faster than miui 2.1.20 (currently set to 368/1.400/ondemand/noop)

This one took a little while. Had do deal with what was available on a case by case basis. Bonus: Revision3 video's obey the quality setting!
11/2/2012 Preserve last video and position for resuming. DONE!
This turned out to be pretty simple too. Just had to store some state info in the db.
This was much easier than I thought it would be!
11/2/2012 Provide "In App" button for settings. DONE!
This was much easier than I thought it would be!
10/25/2012 9 patched the background image for feed items. DONE!
I was hoping that 9 patching the background image would give me a more consistent look across multiple devices in the feed manager. It helped but not nearly as much as I would have hoped.
Changes in 0.2a:
10/16/2012 Stop Moxee from playing while the screen is off. DONE!
There was an issue where if you turned the screen off when Moxee was in a transitional phase, threads that were started before the screen was turned off would cause the app to continue to play videos. Terminating these threads have resolved the issue!
10/15/2012 Toggle fullscreen to access notifications. DONE!
This turned out to be a simple matter of adding and clearing window flags. Now when ever you see the onscreen display, you will have access to the notification bar!
10/15/2012 Worked out a few minor issues.
There was an issue were sources were not seen until they had been updated by the back-end.
Added thumbnails for sources in the feed manager.
There was an issue where if YouTube did not have a "medium" quality mp4 for any particular video it would error off.
Resolved a threading issue where if next was pressed at a particular time, there would be a discontinuity between the titlebar and the actual video playing.
Resolved a threading issue where the titlebar said it was "Loading when in fact it was playing a video.
10/13/2012 Making setting available to those without physical menu button. DONE!
According to the information provided here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11702831/android-best-way-to-let-user-access-preference-activity) putting a menu option called "Settings" in the menu will cause ICS and above to show the 3 dot soft settings button. We shall see!
Well as it turns out that if you lower your build target(ei gingerbread), ICS (and above) will auto detect and put soft settings button in the action bar. However, lowering the build target caused problems with the latest Google ads jar so I had to revert to a lower version of that, but It's all working now!! I just need to make sure that the ads are really working.

Works fairly well on my Sprint GS3 running 4.1.1.
Main problem, plays after turning the screen off.
Would love to be able to turn to portrait to get access to notifications without stopping the video.
Nice work

Running well on my Xoom (4.1.2).
It would be nice to be able to get to the original source of the video somehow, however I kind of like that you can't as it saves your from becoming distracted and not actually watching anything all the way through. In that respect it really is like watching old analogue TV.
Edit - Menu not available on the Xoom due to the lack of a dedicated (physical) menu button.

Thanks for giving my app a try! I have reproduced that it does play with the screen off and I will be working on that one. I don't think that I'm prepared to allow the app into portrait mode but what I will work on is the option to take it out of full screen mode so users will have access to the notification bar.

Thanks so much for testing on your Xoom! I suspected that the lack of a physical menu button might be a problem. I suppose it would be best to make my own buttons for those functions. When you say, original source of the video, I'm not sure what you mean, but I am considering a "download this video" button for the future and even a "cache these video's overnight" kinda thing...

You're welcome, also tested on my SGSII (CM10 4.1.2) and running fine there too.
When I said original source I meant for example being able to get to a video on YouTube or wherever it originally came from in case someone wanted read the comments or get some background info etc...
Cheers
Moxee 0.2a released. See 2nd post entitled "Development Info" for changes. See 1rst or 4th post for download links!. Let me know what you think!

Thanks again for testing! How is the video quality on the xoom? Watchable?

Very watchable. It's not really any different to the quality it would be on YouTube, obviously some things that were uploaded in a lower resolution may not scale up to the larger screen size so well but I won't hold you responsible for that...
I have a few devices I'll test on for you. All U.S. devices. HTC Sensation 4G, SGS2 T989, Galaxy Note 10.1, and if the app will be compatible I also have a Motorola Charm, Motorola Cliq2, and an older MyTouch 3G. I'll let you know how they all perform though. Thanks for the app, and it's a great idea and piece of software.
Just tested it on an 7 inch tablet. Looks great,
but I only see 3 buttons... Where's the Menu key?

If you 7 inch tablet has Gingerbread then, I think, it should have a hardware menu button. If you 7 inch tablet has honey comb or above there should be a "3 dot" software button in the bottom bar, next to the 3 buttons on the left. If however, your 7 inch tablet has no hardware button and is running gingerbread or below, that is the case where there would be a problem
If this is the case, let me know, and I'll put it on the list for 0.3a :good:
Thanks so much for testing and let me know if there is anything else you notice, or if there is anything that you think would make the experience better!

This is a shame... I know my sig says that I have an Atrix, and I did, but I got rid of it and haven't removed it from my sig yet. Is there anything that you can tell me about the force close? Logcat info? When it happens, etc? Do you have a lapdock or...
Thanks very much for given it a try, even though it doesn't seem to work for you

It got ICS with no Menu button.
I know the 3 dot butten, most of the apps has it, but yours don't
If you'll got the time, Can you add an icon for MENU?
Moxee got lot's of potential but
it's not really usable without costomizing the feeds
