[Q] Can't logo Dropbox - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use the program "Es file" explorer "and would like to have access to Dropbox in the program" Es file "explorer" but I am told that "Login failure"
I do the following:
On the phone I open "" Es file "explorer" - select the tab "Network / Cloud" - select "New", dropbox icon will be shown on the screen.
I must enter email - password (the ones I use when I log into DropBox) but get a "Login failure"
What causes it and how do I fix the problem?

Time to ditch es and try something new. They used to be one of if not the best file explorer. Those days are long gone. Try solid explorer. Much much better.

Phone folders/directories

In thru OfficeSuite>Phone>System>Media, you find Ringtones and Notifications.
HOW can I put files into these folders?
My PC only sees the Mem Card, not the phone itself??
Also, has anyone found the folder for the Wallpapers directory?
Access to this also?
Thanks.
u can use astro from market it is file manager

So, I'm guessing, put mp3's into audio, wallpapers into pic folder on card, then use astro file manager to move them to the phone directory..?
Well, so far, astro has allowed me to browse thru the phone directories, but copy/move any files in there?? Nope.. I can browse the directories without any 3rd party apps, so astro, although easy to look at, offers no benefit to me as yet..
Yes you can copy and or movefiles with astro. When inside a folder hit your left menu button, select edit, select all, then manually deselect the files you do not want to move, then hit the menu button again, edit, copy-or-move. Back out and navigate to the folder you want too place the file into, menu, edit, paste. Sort of round about but it works.

I tried the same thing, using ES File Explorer (which I find much more practical than Astro). No luck.
Could the problem be that we don't have permission to write to the phone's storage, rather than a problem with the apps?
yes, u have not the permission to write in the telephone memory! but its not becessary, us the sdcard, it will work.

Sounds good in theory, however already tried this, and the "Paste" option is not available once i'm in the file folder i want to put the files into..
Also, still hoping someone will shed some light on the location of the wallpaper gallery..

I am presuming you mean "File Expert"
Do this to allow you to delete system files:
1. Click the menu key and select More.
2. Within that menu click Settings
3. Select "File Explorer Settings"
4. Scroll down and select "Root Explorer"
5. Click "Allow" in the window that pops up
no root button in explorer
Okay let's do this another way.
1. Download ES File Explorer from the Market
2. Open it up and press the menu button and select "Settings"
3. Scroll all the way down and select "Root Explorer" and "Mount File System"
There.
thank worked can this way delet stock apps
You can, but don't get too crazy, some apps are needed for the system to function properly
directory apps system?

[Q] Can't install CWM

I tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420728
I've got my phone rooted. When I use remount it says .cust_backup/image is rewritable, but when I go to ES File Explorer I can't find the .cust_backup folder to replace the recovery.img in. I can't mount on the pink screen either. So I'm stuck
This is on B526. Google shows zero results on this issue, feels like I'm the only one with this problem?
1- First and most import question your phone must be rooted? If you have custom rom then you have root.
2- After that install root explorer from playstore and then you can see folder "cust_backup" mount "/.cust_backup" as rw.
3- And copy this recovery (you can choose either version) to that folder and tried to reboot should be working.
Sorry if I sound rude, but did you actually read my post lol?
Try this:
Open ES File Explorer and enable Root and Mount RW
Open Settings, press the Menu key then Settings
Scroll Down to Other Settings
Select Root Settings
Check the following Options
Root Explorer
Up to Root
Mount File System

Well I didn't really do what you said, but it got me to search around in the settings and I found "display "." path files" (or whatever it said).
Found the folder

haha! I know what your problem is. The .cust_backup folder is hidden! You must go into ES File Explorer's settings, and file a option that says to show hidden files. If you are on the latest version of ES File Explorer, use these steps:
Open ES File Explorer.
Press the menu button on your phone.
From the menu that opens from the left, select the settings button (located on the bottom-right of the menu that just opened.
Once you are in the settings of ES Fiile Explorer, go into "Display setting".
Then, tick the first option that says "Show hidden files"
Now, go back to the root of your phone and you should be able to see ".cust_backup"
If you have any problems then let me know, but it is very simple. Good Luck

Google drive

Hi. Is my first time using Drive and after trying to download a ROM from "x" googledrive.com site . the only way to get that file is using google drive ( go figure ). The problem started when my only option was saying : open file using es file explorer . no saving file option anywhere. So I opened it...waited for the big file to download to drive then opens ( extract ) the ROM zip file with es file explorer but there is no option to save the zip. So now I opened my google drive app and I found the ROM zip file in "recent". Since I don't see the word Save or something like that. I used download and the file started downloading ( I thought it was like saving from drive to my sdcard ). So OK I waited again for the big file to download just in case I clicked also on Keep on my device. Now I did a search and I can't find it anywhere in my device storage or sdcard. I tries the move option and it only let me move within the folders inside drive or create a new one.
What happened to the easy way of click on download...save...done?.
How can I do something as easy and fast like that when I download something using google drive?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
There should be a little i icon on the file. Press it then "save a copy". I think that's what the process is like now. It used to say download a copy or something similar.

How to sideload to freetime

Hello all,
I think i stumbled onto something and want to tell others as it took a while for me to figure it out.
What you need:
ES FILE EXPLORER (from amazon app store, share it with the free time profile)
APP YOU WANT TO SIDELOAD INSTALLED TO PRIMARY PROFILE
GOTOAPP (from amazon app store, share it with the child profile)
Make sure the ES File Explore app is shared to the child profile. And that the app you want to load in freetime mode is installed on the primary profile.
Then go to the child profile, open ES File Explorer.
Click the Apps icon from the homepage, click on the app you want to sideload and then click view app content.
Select all the items and copy them to a new folder in your Downloads folder.
Then select all items inside that folder and zip the files to a .zip file.
After doing so rename the file and change .zip to .apk. Then open the GoToApp and open the docs app from it then select the apk file and enable unknown sources installation and install.
You now have it installed on the freetime profile and can use the GoToApp to load it.

Apps on the parent profile do not show when using ES on the child's profile?? When I open ES on the parent profile the app I want to sideload is there, but go to child's and it isn't. I'm using an HD 10. Thoughts?
