Hey all. I'm using DI Radio traveling from home to work and back. I lose signal for about 10 minutes. Is there any radio app that can download pre buffer ahead so it doesn't stop playing? Thanks

Edit: Turning off HD makes the videos worm, but my wifi is definitely capable of streaming 720/1080p. Could it possibly be due to the fact that videos aren't in 720? Hmm..
So when using the YouTube app videos don't load. The 'Play' icon shows up, but pressing it makes the video buffer, then it shows again. Playing YouTube on my other phones works fine, so it isn't a server issue. What's up?

I've seen mention of this with the N4 and certain carriers (on data). Is this on data only, or wifi as well?

Data is fine, it's my wifi that's the problem.

I get the same problem. I have WiFi on and I try watching YouTube videos and that **** always stops to load. I don't ever remember it being this bad. I has to stop to load like 3 or 4 times in every video. I always end up turning off HD which helps but dam man. I want that HD

I have had this for ages now - All youtube videos buffer every 4 seconds or so. The temporary fix is:
1) Force stop youtube
2) Clear data and clear cache
3) Press and hold power button for 10 seconds
4) Turn phone on, reset time/date (step 3 resets date/time)
Youtube then works for a couple of days.....
I have also tried turning off 'optimize wifi for battery life' and removing youtube updates. Neither seem to affect the problem.
Uninstall YouTube and then re-install. Ta daaaaaa.
Oh my!! Thanks guys! Finally HD. I did both of your steps and it now works in HD without constant buffering. However, I had been wondering if it was a problem with general WiFi speeds. As sometimes doing aspeedtest I would get 3mbps when I have a 12 Mbps connection.

Glad it helped.
But - it would be nice to get rid of this bug once and for all ? Are google even aware of it ? Is there a publicly available bug tracker or something we can all see ?

Hi guys...
Start using S4, and I noticed this little bug?
When i paired with the radio in the car, i need always to select Media Audio.
If I turn on them off, Media Audio, is not select.... it's a little boring, always need to go to settings..
Any one is having the same issue?
I'm using the last stock UK ROM.
This didn't happen with S3...
Thx

Yes and it's dead annoying because everytime I turn my engine on I have to turn s4 BT off then back on and select stereo.

Iv just upgraded from my s2 to the s4. And the s4 doesnt seem to have a radio.
Iv downloaded a few apps but they all seem to use the net to get a signal. Is there one like the s2 that just useses normal radio waves?? Im already fed up of the radio cutting out in week areas

There's no FM hardware in the S4. Samsung made an announcement that people don't use it so they didn't bring it to the new phone.

Try TuneIn Radio. I think it's the best one. It needs internet.
Cool thanks

Hi guys,
My nexus 4 drops my signal every 10-15 seconds, the signal coverage 80 percent of the time remains showing full signal/3G etc but data drops constantly.
I have tried stock and custom rooms with little effect, my network provider blames the phone. I haven't had a chance to test it on another network but before I do was hoping to see if others may have experienced the same!
Below are some screenshots from a signal monitor.

Same problem for me

Hmm, what ROM are you using? What country? There must be a cause or just a hardware issue?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Flash stock kernel. It will fix the signal drop for few sec.

The stock kernel will fix it you say? Surely that is was I had originally? Or is it something different?

Doesn't seem to have made any difference. Can anyone suggest anything else?
Interesting, mine started with this yesterday once I upgraded my rom to a newer version.

What was your old ROM? I may try it as I am clutching at straws here. Radio, music, youtube... anything that requires data streaming just buffers every 10 seconds for 1-5 seconds. It is frustrating to say the least!
Stock Kernel didn't let my phone boot, Franco Kernel seemed to make it worse! I don't get what the issue is

Im using Paranoid Android with an older radio for LTE but the newest update seems to be when my signal went funny somewhat. I am on the .33 radio with matrix kernel right now but my phone signal seems to be lower than it was in many areas after the July 22nd update. Could be coincidental.
My Nexus 4 running CM11 (doesnt seem to matter what rom I run, same problem when I was running slim rom) will intermittently lose data, most noticeable when streaming Pandora. Music will play just fine for about 30 minutes straight or more then it just stops playing and i am not able to get any data into the phone for at least 3 minutes unless I reboot. The thing is that i never show signal loss, it's always 4 plus bars of LTE (have not tried to duplicate on hspa).. It's not the app because google search stops working as well... I am using a hybrid radio..
Am I the only one experiencing this issue? Btw I'm in the US and using tmobile..

Nexus 4 does not support LTE !! I GUESS because mine doesn't ☺ so try Using it on 3g or wifi!!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Officially Yes that's correct.. However it does have the radio for it and it does work.. I will try hspa and see if it happens... But I'm not convinced its an LTE issue just yet.
