[Q] HF5X on defy - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all,
I'm having a defy red Lens running cm 7.2 official. My battery's capacity has reduced a lot and I'm forced to take my charger to college as the battery would have only <10% left by the end of the day.
I'm planning to buy a hf5x battery , but i came to know that hf5x can be charged to a Max of 80% only without the defy+ battd. I have two questions
1: Can i use hf5x and bf5x simultaneously if i replace the battd & lib files to suit hf5x to charge full??
2: Should i buy a wall charger to use both batteries simultaneously??
Thanx

[Q] 2nd battery

Hello. I have 2 battery's for my defy+. They are both the same mah. My problem is that if I charge one battery to 100% then change to the other battery and charge that to 100% when I then put my first battery in it will only charge to 84 %. I have tried battery calibration and wipeing battery stats.. I'm running white rabbit 1.3 atm..
Hope that someone can understand what I mean

the 84% charging bug is because of the software inside your phone, not the battery
most custom ROMs for the defy+ charge only upto 84%( except CM7 with a patch made by AL). The rest don't charge upto 100%.. Go for MSGinger or Stock ROM

[Q] Defy+ HF5X battery cradle charger

Did it worked for you?
I think there could be a heating issue while charging..
I don't think that there would be problems with charging, I think that there will be problems with usage, 3.8V is a higher voltage than default battery's, so it could overvolt some hardware parts.
today igot the replacement battery , its HF5X battery for defy+, my phone is DEFY(MB525), phone is charging stops at 98%

Hi. How much did the battery cost you. I see HF5X on Ebay starting from 1500-1600. If the rate is same I'll order from them instead.

Defy+ Battery Compatibility

My Defy+ battery isn't charging anymore, even in other Defy, it only charges with an external wall charger, so I'm gonna buy another one.
In my country, the Defy (MB525) BF5X battery is a lot cheaper (less than the half price) than the Defy+ (MB526) HF5X battery.
The question is: The Defy (MB525) BF5X battery is fully compatible with Defy+? I can use it without any problems?
Note: I'm using the WIUI GB v2.9.27 (GB Kernel).
Thanks!
battery fix available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795647
note: bf5x and hf5x differs in battery chemistry and the top charge voltage slightly different (hf5x higher), so if you use hf5x on mb525 rom the battery won't full charge, but if reverse, theoretically can be dangerous(???), not 100% sure but overcharging lithium rechargeables is dangerous, tight voltage limit...

Hi there.
I hope is not too late - last post was in November.
I've tried a new BF5X battery with my DEFY+ (MB526) but it causes bootloops or shudden shutdown when it asks to enter the sim pin.
I've also tried with and old one from a used MB525 and it worked without any problem... What can I say...
I should advice you to buy the HF5X, even if it's more expensive, for sure compatibility.

[Q] Change kernel voltage

I found a bigger battery for Defy MB525 which has(theoretically) capacity rated as 3500mAh(it is much thicker than original battery so there is a possibility it will last longer and that it isn't only a sticker with bigger capacity printed on it). However the problem is I own Defy+ MB526 which battery is 3.8V and the bigger battery voltage is only 3.7V. Is there a way to change Defy+ kernel to Defy so the battery will work properly or should I put it in without any changes and it will work fine as well.
