Hey everyone, I had a question.
I did a complete wipe of data and I also wiped the system also. Issue I have is that for some odd reason even when I did all that greenify Still had my settings after I flashed to a new ROM.
Why is that?
Did you restore the app?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
If you wiped your data from CWM recovery, I know that it doesn't wipe the internal storage for me, maybe that's why it didn't wipe Greenify's data
I didn't restore the app. I also wiped the system also.
If the information you gave us is correct, there are two possible explanations. 1) The info is saved on the emulated SD. 2) The info is backed up to a server and automagically restored (doubtful).

read what it says under automatic restore(this is in main settings, backup and reset, and refers to apps installed from the play market. it saves your settings on googles servers)..

yup.
this option works well too, market apps only though. its a shame, not many people realize that the option exists.
how useful is greenify, i run it on my nexus 7 and i dont use it enough to figure whether it does expand battery life

its very useful, especially if you have apps that behave bad. if those apps are running in the background and draining battery, then this will save you some battery.

Started to have some problems with my phone today. WiFi wasn't connecting so I decided to reboot. Still wouldn't work, ran a fix permissions and still nothing. Decided to reboot a second time and got the safe mode screen.
After fixing permissions in cwm phone started up fine, but my APN settings were changed, WiFi still didn't work and all my icons had been moved or deleted.
Be careful out there guys.

He may have downloaded some BS. Many times when hearing about some malwear or something it could have been avoided if the person wasn't trying to download some pirated app.
Better get it vaccinated.

Just because its in the Store doesnt mean its not shady. Its been brought to attention a few times of very shady apps (mostly sexy picture apps but not always) putting malware on Android phones.

8GB Nexus 7... this doesn't add up.
I am generally accepting of storage limitations, but this doesn't make any sense at all. Any idea where the other storage has gone?
Look for invisible files, like from apps you 'deleted', they may have left a ton of useless save loggs and seat animations
Edit: I have a large ammount of 'invisible' data, due to the laziness of not deleting unneeded nandroids

So you have a little over 12gb out of 16gb, that's entirely acceptable. I should have 6 out of 8, I would be happy with 5.5gb (and that's what I have read most people have) but I am at a little more than half of 5.92gb of usable space.
I deleted one nandroid, before taking that SS. I have looked all over my data folders for unused, lingering data folders... I just don't see it.
yup appears to not accountfor hidden files/custom folders

Whoa ... can you at least account for the storage that is in use?
I don't hardly have custom folders, the one I do have specifically takes up 200mb
Well, I know for a sure that none of my videos or comics are included in that graph. I find the internal storage indicator in apps is quite accurate, but doesn't give you the breakdown of what's on the device.

I went to install an android app via the market on the internet and it doesn't list my Nexus? Probably because it's rooted, but how do I fix this? I've never had this issue with rooted phones before.
Mines rooted and running PA and it shows up in the Play Store. Are you sure you're signed into your google account and sync is on?
Which app?
It has nothing to do with root.

I don't know in your specific situation, but rooting the phone won't make it disappear from your devices in the Play Store.

Edit: not sure why but clearing the cache/market data fixed it

Oh, download bbs or gsam or any wakelock detector then. Never face that issue with rooting before.
Can you guide me how to troubleshoot?

To see which apps cause the wakelock you need wakelock detector. Better battery stats or gsam can help with that.
This is what I mean...

They didnt remove it, its there. I am assuming samsung didnt give the 15gig for general purpose as far as I can tell. But if u go into settings under backup u can see its there.

I am having issues finding it too. When I go to back up area I only see my gmail account. Would someone mind posting a screen shot of were it is located?
Wait...is it this? Just doesn't say "Samsung Cloud" specifically?

No idea here. Search around for a while and came up empty.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using XDA-Developers mobile app
The workaround I found was to back up the files to your computer or whatever then delete the albums that were syncing then go back in and choose what folder you want to back up. It cleaned it up for me I have 5gb free but there's one folder that won't delete for some reason. I really wish they would've given you the option to select initially before going all willy nilly. Lol
